Franklin ac DO NOT BUY A FRANKLIN AC!! We bought a Franklin ac system in September 2019 for $7,400.00. We started having problems right away. It stopped working so many times. They replaced various parts trying to resolve the problem. Finally, at the manufacturer's direction, they installed a "hard start kit". The system then worked fine until June 2023. Then the same issue started again. Ac would just stop working. After cycling the circuit breaker, it would work for about 24 hours. Then we would have to reset it again. North Central Florida AC, the ones that we purchased the AC from, wasn't able to fix it. They did replace a few parts but that didn't fix it. Part of an email from owner of North Central Florida Air conditioning, Raymond Walsh, "Your warranty is not with North Central Florida Air Conditioning. Your warranty is with the manufacturer. We are an authorized dealer to work on these units for your warranty company. It has become clear that we are not the best company to assist you with resolving the issue you are experiencing. At this time, I recommend you contact a different company who may be better suited to resolve the issues you are having." Also , on several occasions, North Central Florida AC office staff would yell at me saying there is nothing wrong with my AC! So we called Mid-Fla AC. Dustin came out and worked tirelessly on the AC. He reached Franklin's technical support who said it was a voltage problem. So, I had an electrician come out (cost me $675.00), and he put in bigger gauge wire even though he didn't think that was the problem but we will never know. Then our electric utility came out and put in a new transformer! No, it didn't seem to be the problem and Franklin refused to pay us the money we put out for this. Franklin tech support authorized a replacement circuit board (second one), a hard start kit (second one), and a capacitor (second one). For now the AC is working but I don't have much faith in it. When you pay $7,400.00 you expect better quality and better customer service. I called Franklin manufacturer and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Cassie. I basically wasted my time and she seemed to have zero empathy for seniors. Unfortunately, we can't afford to buy a new AC. But I would never, ever recommend a Franklin ac. We also found that the warranty does not cover any extra charges for service calls outside normal working hours. If the AC breaks after hours or on weekends, too bad for you. read more

Purchased a HVAC unit in 2019, unit cost us almost $9000, one key factor was a 20 year warranty parts and labor. Everything went fine for 4 years until we needed the warranty due to a leak in the air handler coil, by the way the refrigerant replacement cost was $400. We contacted this company but never got a response either vis phone or email and this went on for three days. Spoke with office representatives who told me to contact the manufacturer. I did so but found out I didn't have the ten year warranty nor did I have any labor cost coverage. I did have a 5 year parts on warranty. I'm sure you can now understand my frustration at this point. I would give them a zero star if I could. Buyer be ware you may not get what you think you buy. read more

North Central Florida Air Conditioning is a scam. I purchased a brand new ac unit 9 months ago and was supposed to be under warranty, parts and labor. The unit stopped working so I called their office to get a tech to make the repairs. The dispatcher only asked if I needed someone tonight or in the morning. So of course I said tonight. The tech gets to my home and informs me that the service is "after hours" so there is a mandatory $120 service fee and the parts are not covered under the warranty since they are "universal" parts off the truck. I called their office and the rude dispatcher said "I asked you if you wanted a tech tonight or tomorrow?" which I was supposed to somehow know that meant a $120 service fee would be due and the $230 in parts would not be covered by the warranty. This company replaced my compressor last year and there have been no problems. I troubleshot the unit so I knew that I needed a new compressor, but they still ran tests and tried to get the old one running. The parts warranty was about a week from expiring when we contacted them and they worked closely with the manufacturer to make sure that the parts were covered even though the install was going to happen after the warranty expired. As near as I could tell from searching online the price for the service was in the low to mid range of what others were paying. I would use this company again. read more

The first thing that I love about this company is that even if I call at 9pm or on Saturday morning, the price for someone to come out to my house is the same! They don't have an after hours fee! And they have same day service! The office staff are very helpful and polite, and the techs have parts on their truck, so I did not have to wait to get back to cooling! I would recommend them to anyone! When I had to call them out to my home on a Saturday evening, they were able to be there within a couple of hours, had the tools and parts needed to fix my air, and when they left we were cool and comfy! North Central Florida Air conditioning simply doesn't care about keeping an appointment. Jessica gave me two hour window for appointment and called to say she couldn't make the appointment when it was the appointment time in the morning. Also she tried to set up another two hour window sometime in the afternoon. If you are willing to wait until they show up no matter how long it is, then be my guest! I made this appointment 7 days ago and there were plenty of chances to re-arrange the appointment. However, Jessica decided to contact me the last minute of the appointment time and told she couldn't make it. Some generic pretending apology on the web is not much of consolation even in the lowest moral standard. read more

I experienced wonderful customer service with North Central Florida Air Conditioning. They care for others and their customers. I will continue to use them. I recently thought my heat was not working at a place I am renting. Technician showed up within the hour and called in advance to arriving at my home. He was clear in explaining what was going on and talking to me about my options and what was best for me. He seemed focused more on taking care of (me) the customer verses making a quick $$$ like other places. Even helped assist me in speaking with the landlord about this issues found and getting them fixed. I highly recommend!!! read more

Service Tech was great. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and was able to resolve the issue within the parameters of our dilemma. He serviced a 15 year old unit that needs to be replaced but we just wanted to get through the year until we either build or purchase a home elsewhere. The only problem was the $90 trip fee. That cost should go towards any service repair/labor cost incurred if you use them after the diagnosis and repair estimate. If not then you get charged the $90. Not so with them they added it onto a $300 bill. Can't blame the service tech but beware of this cost since most others just deduct that from total cost as opposed to adding it. They did get the job done but will call around a bit more before using them again since the $90 trip fee didn't sit well with me. read more

Avoid this company. The technicians are generally competent; but, apparently are instructed to "pitch" over priced "add on" equipment during the semi annual maintenance visits. I recently bit on a UV light unit for mold as I did have a visible mold problem. The cost was $2,000 for a $600 unit that required less than 30 minutes to install. I next experienced a loss of refrigerant due to a part failure under warranty. I was charged a $480 for the r410a at $40 per pound after complaining about the quoted $50 per pound. Said refrigerant can be purchased for $5 per pound. I finally understand that my original purchase of a replacement unit from them 8 years ago (on a low bid basis) and the ongoing relationship for maintenance to maintain the warranty was no bargain.. read more

Please do not use this company! They over charged me for a repair that did not solve the problem and continued to charge me for subsequent visits that still did not solve the problem. I had a different company come out, they found the problem, it was minor, fixed it on the spot and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Stay away from this company! I can swear to you, they are NOT honest, their integrity is non-existent, they are not fair and they are not a company I will ever use again, no matter how hot it gets! Other "rejected" reviews were not recommended by YELP but the one good review was. Doesn't sound right to me. If most of the people are complaining, there's got to be some truth to it. I got robbed blind by these people, run for your life! We just purchased a larger home that has two systems. I also had purchased two new Honeywell wifi thermostats that I wanted them to install. Tech charged me two $69.95 "tune up charges" and promptly told me that one of the units needed a new contactor for $193 "installed." Then on my two brand new Honeywell thermostats I got raped. Tech told me that since the thermostat had 7 wires (on a terminal strip) that was a "major wire repair." He also said it was a "level 4" service----to the tune of $482!!!! It took him less than a half hour to wire in the "complicated" York AC unit and the other unit already had a similar Honeywell thermostat that was non-Wi-Fi. That install took maybe 5 minutes! These folks should be sent to jail for robbing people. I asked the tech what their hourly rate was and he told me that they don't charge by the hour---maybe if they did my bill would have been less than $200 as opposed to the insane $814.90 they raped me with. NEVER NEVER NEVER use these people, they will steal from you. As an aside, I will mention that two weeks ago on a Saturday night our AC unit went out at our Cedar Key vacation home. I called a company in Chiefland who sent a guy out on a Saturday night, in the rain at 8 pm in the dark. It was a blown capacitor, which he replaced with a new one...back in business in less than an hour. Service guy lives in Trenton, which took him almost an hour to drive out and another hour to drive back...bill was $263 and he even apologized for it being so large "because it was a Saturday night." That was All Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning. These other guys should learn from them! Rest assured, I will NEVER call North Central Florida Air Conditioning ever again!!!! read more

misdiagnosed my air handler problem as a bad motor. would replace and installed new motor for $1700.00 immediately offered me a new unit for $5400.00 with a concrete slap and a 10 year warranty. i told tech i needed to think about that. i got my little meter and done some checking. i eventually found that my fan control board had a solder joint burnt away, maybe a cold solder, i pulled the board, brushed the joint and resoldered it. motor started and had no problems with functioning correctly. read more
