When the reviews, over several years, mention a specific person, and this person is the owner, then you know this is a good sign that you will get good service. Quality Air did not disappoint. Charles was at our Gainesville Condo within the hour that I called for service. The job was diagnosed and fixed shortly thereafter. My daughter is a student at UF and I live several hours South. Thea, my contact person, is wonderful as she kept me posted about what was happening and she coordinated with my daughter for a follow up visit to check on things. I am not sure how the price compares with other services. But the ease and speed of this repair was well worth my invoice. Quality Air will be my "go to" company for any future needs. They called that morning to let me know that Charles had been there early that morning and noticed it had another year of warranty under a different company. I can't say enough about these guys! I live in Jacksonville and manage a quadruplex remotely that my parents own in Gainesville. I had two major incidences regarding air conditioning issues over the past year. I gave Pro Quality Air a call because they were highly recommended by my long time maintenance guy, Arnaldo who I greatly trust. The first time, I called PQA's office and spoke with the office manager, Soleil. She was extremely professional and courteous. I told her my problem and she sent someone out to fix the AC unit and my tenants were very happy with the results. We spent about $350 total which I felt was very reasonable for the complicated task at hand. This last time, my yard service guys accidentally cut a pipe where the freon goes and this was a major issue because 1) It's hot as hell here in Florida (it's summer), 3) My tenants NEED AC to live & 3) The non-stop rains could have done more damage due to the pipe being open. This was a slight emergency for sure. And since I used them before, I knew who to call. I called Pro Quality Air late Friday night and Pedro returned my call right away. I was surprised because I didn't think I would hear from anyone until Saturday morning. He assured me he could repair the pipe, flush out what needed to be flushed out and have the AC working Saturday morning. He told me he would be there between 7:30-10:30am. And he was. After emailing and texting and calling and coordinating with my tenant, maintenance manager and Pedro of Pro Quality Air, I was able to get a good night's sleep knowing everything would be OK. By 10:16 Saturday morning, I received a call from Pedro following up with me that the unit was fixed, working and good to go. All in all, it was about $600 plus which was totally reasonable considering it was a weekend and the severity of the situation. 5-STAR service and love! :) read more

This is the first time I've been compelled to write a 5-star review for an HVAC company, and Quality Air totally deserves it. Came home at 6pm last night with an 85-degree house. Checked outside and the compressor fan was not turning, and humming. Dreading an unbearable night, I called Quality Air anyway, expecting an answering machine. Charlie picked right up and said it was no problem to come over that night after his next service call, because he was fully booked the following day and didn't want my family enduring a brutally hot night. He estimated an hour, but as his previous service call ran late, he called me several times to notify me of his schedule and how far away he was. Showed up around 8pm, and fixed our unit out in the dark for a totally reasonable rate - especially when it was officially after hours, but he did not charge any kind of after hours fee. The best part - aside from how friendly and honest he was - is that Charlie essentially gave me a 45-minute lesson on HVAC the entire time. He talked me through everything he was doing, what was wrong with the unit, how an HVAC unit operates in general, and made suggestions for improving our home to save energy. He also taught me how to maintain our unit myself to maximize efficiency. He even pulled out a quick iPhone app to run through scenarios of upgrading our unit versus what we would save per month and determined it would definitely not be worth it for us to upgrade our unit. Charlie works to repair units and educate, not to sell you some stuff you don't need. I hesitated writing this review because when I mentioned finding him on Yelp, he laughed and said he doesn't advertise, has always operated on word of mouth for the last 15+ years, and can barely keep up with the work he has. No wonder! I'm glad I found a reputable HVAC repair guy in town who actually cares about the customer and not making a quick buck with lies and sales pitches. read more

I just had such excellent service from this company. I dealt with someone by the name of Charles and he was so pleasant. It was on a Saturday and he was still able to come out on short notice and fix my AC problem. My unit was a bit low on freon and he even topped it up without charging me exra. Their rates are very reasonable and he was very caring and courteous on the phone. I definitely recommend this company and I will continue to use them for all my future needs. read more

The air conditioning unit at our house decided to take a break on a 98 degree Saturday. We have had another HVAC contractor come to service our AC unit before but he was out of town and Charlie was helping him out by covering his emergency calls. Charlie had a few other calls to attend to but the wait was reasonable since I'm sure we weren't the only people in town that had AC units fail on us. Charlie arrived around 8pm and solved the problem quickly. I guess when you do this for years, its easy to diagnose the problem. He then started to discuss the currents, voltage, and longevity issues of capacitors because I had asked why the capacitor failed. It was refreshing to get a technician who seemed genuine and enthusiastic even after working a 14hr day. He also swapped out our thermostat for an upgraded one free of charge. I couldn't find a website for Quality Air Co. so I'm guessing he has done business by word of mouth. Hope this helps quell any doubts about the quality of service that Charlie offers. I will definitely be calling him again if I have any AC issues and would recommend his business to anyone in the Gainesville area. read more

I'm a condo owner, who doesn't live in Gainesville. I have to say this is the second time i guess Pro Quality Air. Pedro (tech) called me on time, left me a message at first and coordinated with my tenant. They quoted/estimate while on site and were able to perform the task. Very professional and provide great customer service. The only negative i find is the cost of them to show up. Compared to others in the area and compared to south florida i do find it a bit higher than others. but quality work. good job. will use them again. read more

Pro Quality Air is Awesome! They came on a Saturday, we friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Explained to me what was causing my unit not to cool, had it fixed in no time, and my favorite part didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. I have had bad experience with other A/C people in the past, but Quality Air was great. They quoted me a price and stuck with it, no gimmicks or sneaky tactics. Checked my system and even gave me advice on something that I could fix myself to save my own costs and prevent unnecessary future repairs caused by this minor fix. Another job well done!! This is the second time I use Quality Air. I own a rental unit in Gainesville but leave in Jacksonville. First time I called them about a year and a half ago and I was very pleased with quick response and reasonable charge. This time Bill Marquardt ( hope name spelling is right) answer the phone and was very polite and super helpful. Next day Charles called and informed me that thermostat needed to be replaced and he serviced and clean the unit. Charge was reasonable and service was needed just in time for a summer. What wonderful service we received from Quality Air this week! On more than one evening, too! Sunday we had water leaking in our garage from the A/C unit, which had not switched off for hours, and we were becoming very concerned. Robert came out in the early evening and serviced the unit, as well as provided customer education. A few evenings later, our blower motor went and the A/C stopped working. Not a big shocker considering our A/C unit is older than dirt, and we have been having to replace this part and that part since moving in a little over a year ago. Robert and Charles came out and handled the issue straight away. Their response time, knowledge, quality of care & service, as well as professionalism, are top notch. Even their office manager, Bill, took wonderful care of us with issues we have been having with the home warranty company. Very patient, kind, and communicative. I have felt very well taken care of, which goes a long way! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services and expertise. Charles, the owner of the company, has over four decades of experience, a calming presence, and a way of making you feel like family. My husband and I are looking into getting a new and more efficient A/C unit. After having negative experiences with companies and multiple A/C issues at our previous rental and now in our first home, I cannot imagine going with another company. The responsiveness and work done by Quality Air was great. However, make sure you get some type of an estimate. I had work done 1 month ago today and still have not received my invoice. When I received a return call today, the estimate I was given was way higher than expected. I had confidence in this company and, therefore, when I was not given an invoice when they were finished and told it would be emailed I still trusted them to be fair. This is not the first time they have come out and every other time I received an invoice before they left and paid it at that time. My coil had to be replaced, which was under warranty. After speaking with the owner today I see now why he couldn't give me an invoice. I am being charged for every little thing, i.e., filling out the warranty paperwork, picking up the part, etc. All of these things might be legitimate charges but knowing upfront what this was going to cost would have given me the opportunity to shop around. Again, I have no problem with the work Quality Air has given me over the years but this is the first time I felt taken advantage of. read more

My compressor/fan unit had stopped working. Called for a tech for help and once on site and very quickly after arrival I was told by a major local HVAC company which whom I had paid for their preventive maintenace program that the unit was shot down with no repair and that a new compressor could be installed for $2600. Of course I was shocked by the quick diagnose given by the tech. Through a friend of mine he suggested someone he knew well and of his company in Gainesville. Trusting my friend and asked him to see if this person could come to check it out for a second opinion. Pro Quality Air's tech Robert came even before time predicted and was someone with great knowledge about cooling/heating, HAVC work and under a shower rain he detected the problem on the unit, had the needed part in his truck and in less than two hours not only fixed the unit, cleaned and power washed the unit and the drains of the AC. I was totatly impressed by the honesty of Robert, the patience through working under hot and humide morning, the interest showed in helping me, share tips on how to help the unit with proper cleaning in and around it. It was the first time I felt that my ignorance/lack of knowledge on this field wasn't taken as an opportunity to get ripped off. Pro Quality Air has gained a customer here for ever and I will make sure the neighborhood knows about their excellent etiquette, service, fairness and honesty quality.
