In addition to the leaks inside my walls caused by poorly connected fixtures that damaged the drywall and adjacent cabinetry, the plumber crushed and disconnected the vent to my dryer, installed the pipes outside of the walls, and in general created several obstacles for my drywall installer that simply shouldn't have been there. They also installed the emergency shut off valve immediately outside the front entrance to my house causing a trip hazard as well as an eyesore. You might get lucky with this company, but no if you have any problems with the job they do this company does not stand behind their work. You will have to pay to clean up their mess on your own dime. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk, go with literally any other company! .... After a leak detection service and the recommended repiping of our unit to resolve a slab leak, Premiere Plumbing and Leak Detection left us with new, more severe water damage than we had before. They came out and fixed their mistakes but did nothing about the damage it caused. After calling the office multiple times and finally threatening legal action the owner's son came out and promised to send a water damage repair company out. That was 2 weeks ago and mold continues to grow in my wall. I still haven't heard from the company and quite frankly I'm tired of having to call them to make them do what they promised.

About a month later it started leaking again with the same issue, and after looking at the receipt I realize the numbers are not adding up to the number he said. Total material is $115 and labor was $180. Total came out to $395 and with the credit card fee of 3% came out to $406.85. $115 + $180 = $295 and even with tax if there is a fee, it should not be $100 more than $295. Also after my mom called the company, they told her they would stop by my apartment today and that they would call me but I have not received any call at all today and it is 8:05pm. Unless they fix the overcharge from last service and fix the leak that I wanted fixed originally, I would unfortunately not recommend. Update: we called and it's a $600 cost to fix the issue that should have been fixed last month and that's WITH the $100 discount from overcharging. Very disappointed and would definitely not recommend to anyone unless you want to be ripped off.

This latest appointment today was for an annual servicing of the AC. Bertie called us the day prior (we'd been signed up for the last several years for yearly maintenance; apparently though they plan to discontinue this practice and have people call in; a bit of a bummer) and we scheduled a time slot of from 10-12 in the morning, and today we got a call a little after 9:30am and the tech (Brandon) arrived just a little after 10. Brandon got to work, replacing our old April Aire filter with a new one, flushing the AC drainage, and checking the system for any issues. None found, he recommended we install surge protectors for the relatively delicate circuit boards and motor. Obviously this was a sales pitch, but after some research online it sounded like a solid idea; the only question in my mind was why these weren't suggested when the system was first installed, but given their track record I was fine with giving Bertie the benefit of the doubt. Installing a new system is a big undertaking, stuff slips through the cracks. They've fostered enough goodwill that I'm okay with this decision. After everything was done, Brandon walked me over to the system to describe what was done and show me the location of the two new surge protectors and lights on them indicating whether they're alive or had sacrificed themselves to subdue a surge. I signed off on a check for the bill and our system was back up and running. I'm not sure that the few reviews I've seen here for Bertie thus far provide a complete picture of their services, but this customer has nothing but good customer and technical service to report about them.

During this time, I learned that not everyone likes a do-it-yourself like me. Some even said I wanted, "free work." Not true! However, the current installed prices spoke to me. I grabbed my tools! Pulling a local permit as a home owner/builder in Florida, I installed a 2 ton (24k) ACIQ-24-HP32 condenser and ACIQ-24-AH32 air handler, and related mechanical. This system replaced a 26 year old 1.5 ton (18K) Trane XE-1000 condenser and TWGO18A air handler that was showing its age -- like me. One of my main hardware vendors, HVAC direct, patiently worked with me as I learned the new system requirements. With help from Isaiah Luke Appliance Repair to do the final commissioning of the system, the new ACIQ inverter system passed local inspection! The new system is a noticeably quieter and produces considerable heat split by comparison with the previous system. The fact that the ACIQ has a higher BTU rating, (24K) a higher seer rating (18), and yet uses smaller breakers, 30A down to 25A on the outside unit and 30 down to 15 amps for the inside unit and doesn't dim my lights when it runs, says it all.
