Since the installed replacement cost have more than doubled for just a single stage 15 seer system…read moreand 3-4 times higher for an 18+ seer variable speed condenser and air handler system, I began researching different systems and vendors. During this time, I learned that not everyone likes a do-it-yourself like me. Some even said I wanted, "free work." Not true! However, the current installed prices spoke to me. I grabbed my tools! Pulling a local permit as a home owner/builder in Florida, I installed a 2 ton (24k) ACIQ-24-HP32 condenser and ACIQ-24-AH32 air handler, and related mechanical. This system replaced a 26 year old 1.5 ton (18K) Trane XE-1000 condenser and TWGO18A air handler that was showing its age -- like me. One of my main hardware vendors, HVAC direct, patiently worked with me as I learned the new system requirements. With help from Isaiah Luke Appliance Repair to do the final commissioning of the system, the new ACIQ inverter system passed local inspection! The new system is a noticeably quieter and produces considerable heat split by comparison with the previous system. The fact that the ACIQ has a higher BTU rating, (24K) a higher seer rating (18), and yet uses smaller breakers, 30A down to 25A on the outside unit and 30 down to 15 amps for the inside unit and doesn't dim my lights when it runs, says it all. Thanks again to: Isaiah Luke Appliance Repairs!

I can't say enough about these guys! I live in Jacksonville and manage a quadruplex remotely that…read moremy parents own in Gainesville. I had two major incidences regarding air conditioning issues over the past year. I gave Pro Quality Air a call because they were highly recommended by my long time maintenance guy, Arnaldo who I greatly trust. The first time, I called PQA's office and spoke with the office manager, Soleil. She was extremely professional and courteous. I told her my problem and she sent someone out to fix the AC unit and my tenants were very happy with the results. We spent about $350 total which I felt was very reasonable for the complicated task at hand. This last time, my yard service guys accidentally cut a pipe where the freon goes and this was a major issue because 1) It's hot as hell here in Florida (it's summer), 3) My tenants NEED AC to live & 3) The non-stop rains could have done more damage due to the pipe being open. This was a slight emergency for sure. And since I used them before, I knew who to call. I called Pro Quality Air late Friday night and Pedro returned my call right away. I was surprised because I didn't think I would hear from anyone until Saturday morning. He assured me he could repair the pipe, flush out what needed to be flushed out and have the AC working Saturday morning. He told me he would be there between 7:30-10:30am. And he was. After emailing and texting and calling and coordinating with my tenant, maintenance manager and Pedro of Pro Quality Air, I was able to get a good night's sleep knowing everything would be OK. By 10:16 Saturday morning, I received a call from Pedro following up with me that the unit was fixed, working and good to go. All in all, it was about $600 plus which was totally reasonable considering it was a weekend and the severity of the situation. 5-STAR service and love! :)

So far (knocking on convenient wood furiously) I've had no problems with Bertie; indeed, I've had…read morereally good service from them for years since they first stopped by to replace our ailing 30+ year old Borg-Warner system with a Trane, as well as replace our traditional water heater with a tankless gas one. This latest appointment today was for an annual servicing of the AC. Bertie called us the day prior (we'd been signed up for the last several years for yearly maintenance; apparently though they plan to discontinue this practice and have people call in; a bit of a bummer) and we scheduled a time slot of from 10-12 in the morning, and today we got a call a little after 9:30am and the tech (Brandon) arrived just a little after 10. Brandon got to work, replacing our old April Aire filter with a new one, flushing the AC drainage, and checking the system for any issues. None found, he recommended we install surge protectors for the relatively delicate circuit boards and motor. Obviously this was a sales pitch, but after some research online it sounded like a solid idea; the only question in my mind was why these weren't suggested when the system was first installed, but given their track record I was fine with giving Bertie the benefit of the doubt. Installing a new system is a big undertaking, stuff slips through the cracks. They've fostered enough goodwill that I'm okay with this decision. After everything was done, Brandon walked me over to the system to describe what was done and show me the location of the two new surge protectors and lights on them indicating whether they're alive or had sacrificed themselves to subdue a surge. I signed off on a check for the bill and our system was back up and running. I'm not sure that the few reviews I've seen here for Bertie thus far provide a complete picture of their services, but this customer has nothing but good customer and technical service to report about them.
