I want to thank Sunshine Services and technition David Holder for the great job they did. I purchased a new electric range and could not slide it to the wall because of a gas line which was in the way. I called another plumbing company I have used for 11 yrs and they had to first send an estimator by, then wait two days for the estimate. So I called Sunshine Services who send David Holder who saw I I wanted to do was to remove the gas libe and cap off the pipe. Would NOT recommend. Had them do a re-pipe of our natural gas service. Tech was hours late to the appointment. When I called to inquire I was told that he had been dispatched. Called again and got same response - but when I pressed for more information I was told the tech had truck problems and would be there in an hour. He showed at 11:30am. Worked until 4 and said he would be back " first thing" next day. Returned at 9am and continued work. Around noon tech said work was done so we called GRU for inspection - which failed due tech error. After more work tech said all was good and departed. GRU returned at 4:45 pm and inspection FAILED AGAIN. When I called Sunshine I was told that they would have tech return next day - despite reminding them that we had been without gas (namely NO HOT WATER) for days. Next day I called again and asked to speak with a local manager. Was told by him that they would try to juggle their schedule to fit us in. The manager arrived himself at 11:00am to make corrections to a new connection that was leaking. At 2:45 GRU arrived to inspect and thankfully the job passed. After inspection I talked with manager and expressed our dissatisfaction with the job - tech errors, failed inspections, delays, and lack of responsiveness. He became defensive and said they were honoring their warranty by making corrections. I said that a warranty usually begins once the job was completed and that this job wasn't done until gas was functioning. I requested an adjustment to the final bill - which was done - but was less than satisfactory given the hassle. read more

I have been a long-time client of Sunshine Plumbing and Gas for my rental properties, but unfortunately, it seems the company was sold to new owners from Miami. Recently, I was charged $317 to replace a bathroom sink drain. I was blown away. While the technicians are fantastic, the changes in the office, ownership and the exorbitant prices have led me to move the business for my 8 rental properties elsewhere. The same day we got a call from Sunshine offering to come out and give us an estimate. We ended up having Sleuth Leak Detection come and find the actual leak. We had a water heater replacement done a few years back and recently discovered by an inspector that it was neither done to code nor was the permit pulled. When calling them, the office customer service became dishonest and evasive saying things like "the code changes all the time" and "we're a licensed company so we don't need permits." Now they are asking us to pay again to pull the permit and fix the code violation. Apparently the customer service cannot reach their boss/owner even after a week. read more

Facing a dire plumbing emergency (aren't they all?), I ran through 3 outfits in one day trying to get someone who could unclog pipes that were backing up every drain in the main house. Each guy would come out and have some reason why they or their equipment weren't up to the task. (Huh?) Enter Nate. Decided to finally get the galvanized pipe replaced at the house and called a few different plummers to compare quotes. Sunshine had the best price and and the guy who gave the quote was on time and was professional. The guys that came to do the work were always pretty late and not the most professional and they had to come back out a couple of times to correct issues but at the end of the day they did a quality job. I really felt like I got a good value and that made the other issues tolerable. I would definitely recommend them for any job, especially if you're trying to save some money. read more

Excellent service and incredibly responsive. They were booked for the day (as were all the other plumbers I called) but our drains were clogged and we couldn't flush our toilets; they took my name and number and said they would see what they could do or they would call by the end of the day to set something up for tomorrow. Within a couple of hours the technician called and said he was on his way. It took him about 15 minutes to fix our issue and the price was exceeding reasonable for same day/emergency service. I had used Sunshine Plumbing before and that first job was done well, so I felt comfortable calling them back out. BIG mistake! So warning so you all don't make the same mistake as me. I'm not sure what has taken place since I last used them, perhaps a changing of staff, maybe the business grew and they got cocky, not sure. The what happened is not my concern. The what it is now causing, is. If I had to sum my experience in two words it would be POOR COMMUNICATION! I initially called this company before Thanksgiving holidays and informed them I needed to replace 2 sinks. I was told to go purchase the sinks and call them after the holidays. I was not provided any guidance on best brands or similar items. Just go get the sinks and you'll need 2 new faucets also. Day of original scheduled install, I was switched from from my original 8am to noon scheduled time with no notice. I'm sorry, but people have work and other life-duties and can not just hold an entire day open. I only found out I had been switched when I called in to inquire of the delay. I was told they had a customer with an emergency and they had to move me. It was cold that day, that creates plumbing issues, I get that. What I didn't get was why there was no courtesy call to inform me or to even ask if I needed to reschedule. That was a red flag I shouldn't have ignored. I should have cancelled at that point and found someone else. But they said they were on their way so I let them go ahead and come. BIG MISTAKE! I had to do a last minute doctors appointment cancel-fee. If the problems stopped there, I'd have given them 2 stars. But it continues. Once gentlemen finished the install, he advised that he wasn't sure if the sink came out of the box damaged or he had cracked it but that I should go purchase a new one and they'll come back out and install for me and I can take the old one back and get a refund. He made it seem like there was damage to only one sink. Once I had a chance to inspect later that evening, there were TWO damaged sinks!! Never was the 2nd one mentioned to me. Once I reached out to the office, I learned both had been mentioned to the office. I'm the paying customer, why wasn't I told? And if it came out of the box damaged, why wasn't I told before it was installed? No company is refunding sinks that have caulking on them. It gets better! I'll spare you all the detailed nuisances. Suffice it to say: home office/workers messages-different. They stated they were coming out to fix and would be supplying the sinks from their supplier. Well, slap me and call me surprised! If they had a supplier, why didn't they offer that option to begin with?? And that way I, the non-expert, am not in the store just going by the limited knowledge of store workers. That way the customer is assured good quality. On first visit, faucets were supposedly tested and all was well. Interesting. Because on 2nd visit, faucets were definitely tested, as I made sure to check everything in depth and the faucets are leaking. They state there is a defect in the faucet and they can replace but that visit they'd have to charge me for the return visit. Why wasn't this leak/defect discovered first visit? Had it been they could have done everything on their second visit. I'm sorry but I can not in good conscience pay this company to come back out to my house when their poor communication and poor stance as the experts led to a lot of this. While I appreciate the fact that they took care of the sink part, good, customer-service-friendly communication could have allowed for a first-time-final pleasant customer experience. This is NOT ok! Hire at your own risk! Literally!! Oh and by the way, they came out today to install the new sinks, without the new sinks because of that poor communication I mentioned earlier. ‍‍ read more

I felt like I had to write a review on this company. The plumber that was here, Corey, was amazing. Very honest, very patient. He came out to check my tankless water heater which loses the heat during my shower. He was able to keep everything under the hour, and still had time to look at my kitchen sink that was leaking. He found a simple issue in the water heater which I am hoping will fix the problem. I will find out during my next shower or two. He also gave me the idea to call the company that made my faucet to see if it was still under warranty. It's still under warranty! Lifetime warranty!!! He could've just done his job and left, not caring about anything. He explained all the prices for the future work, if What he did did not fix my water heater. I thought this was a good thing to do I choose to wait until Monday and they arrived within the 2 hour window they gave me. Again a reasonable window in my judgement. I have had them to the house for all manner of issues and they are always resolved quickly, professionally, and economically. I have American Home Shield, and I'd rather pay for Sunshine than use AHS, because I know it will be done the right way. In these times where we are all trying to keep our eye on the bottom line, Sunshine makes you feel like you got more than your money's worth. They explain the issues and process as they diagnose and resolve the issue. Randy has been to my property a few times to clear out roots in my pipes or get the slow moving drain back in order and he is terrific. Initially these guys were great. Our experience is much like the reviews on Facebook. We had a big job and everything went smoothly. However all the small jobs have been a complete disaster with one technician pointing a finger at another. They came out to fix a leak recently and hours later we had no water. Called for an appointment and was told be out by noon. Guy didn't come until 7 pm and then told couldn't fix tonight and can come back Monday. Water is off again. Called now for an emergency repair and then the lady after never returning my calls yesterday called back(not within the 15 min) and told me not their problem and call a well guy. Glad to know we had no issues until they came out and yet nothing offered except a bandaid fix and that "the tech who said they'll fix it can do it on his off time" not the techs fault more like the fault of a crappy business with poor communication and customer service. So we'll be taking our plumbing issues to another company from now on. Only reason they get two stars is for the big money jobs as clearly that's all that matters to them as evident on their website with listed businesses using them. And also for the kindness of the initial tech who attempted to help despite pushback from Victoria and the company. read more

We called last week and made an appointment for a plumber to come out today between 9 and 11. My husband took off work this morning to wait, and nobody showed up. When he called, Sunshine said they didn't have anything on the books for us today, but they could come tomorrow. We cancelled with them and booked another plumber instead. Nate, the owner, called me to apologize, but, by then, the damage was done. They did good work for us a couple of years ago, but this mistake is causing a LOT of inconvenience for both my husband and me. I understand that mistakes can happen, but now I have to take off work tomorrow to wait for the second plumber to come. I truly hope Sunshine figures out what went wrong with us and fixes it, so it doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I used Sunshine numerous times with satisfying results over the years until this year. I had to get my faucet replaced and they said that I should replace my garbage disposal too while I'm at it. So they charged me $92 for the two minute diagnosis. They did say that when I bought a new faucet and disposal and they installed it, they would give me credit for the visit. They tried to get me to buy their Badger Insinkerator garbage disposal for $132 (they sell them for $99 in store) which I respectfully declined. So they came back and installed both and charged me $150 for the hour and half's worth of work and left me my old faucet and garbage disposal saying they didn't do disposal unless I bought the product from them. After they left I noticed instead of crediting the $92 from earlier, they put it down as a charge. So I called them back and they said it would take them a couple of days to refund me my money because they had to wait for the plumber to submit their bills. Aggravating but okay. Then I tried to start my dishwasher... It worked fine the day before now it doesn't. I called them back and they immediately went on the defensive. They didn't touch my dishwasher so it's not their fault. Then they admitted that if the plumber didn't take out the plug in the garbage disposal, it might. They came back and supposedly took out the plug. (A couple days later the original plumber gave me my "overpayment".) But the thing is that every time I called them they immediately went on the defensive ready to say that it was my fault not theirs. The sink didn't drain properly after they installed the new garbage disposal but it's not their doing it must be that I clogged it some how. They would have to charge me to send someone back out. No thank you. When my dishwasher stopped working again, I called someone else. It turns out that Sunshine didn't take out the plug to the garbage disposal. They just put a tiny hole in the plug which let my dishwasher work once and the way the new rubber safety drain cover worked didn't allow for fast water drainage. All things they would know if they had properly installed and tested it. Sunshine became an eclipse. I spent way too much time and money that didn't need to be spent because of them. read more
