UPDATE: After contacting the company about my bill, the owner of the company personally called me, and we discussed my experience. He promised to retrain his staff, and assured me I would not be charged, and apologized sincerely. I was impressed with the time he took to address my concerns, and with the quality of the customer service, even if my original experience with the company wasn't great. My reservations have been resolved fully. Appalling service. They charged me 92 dollars for a 10 minute diagnosis, and then promptly told me they would need to come back another day (no problem, I understand that). They came back a second day, and removed a piece of a beam from under the house to reach the pipe, and then had to come back another day when I could let them into the house (also no problem). However, after this I scheduled 3 separate dates/times for them to meet me and fix the pipe. The first day, they called 3 hours after our scheduled time to report that they were not going to be able to make it. The second time the plumber told me an hour after our scheduled time that he had to go home for a family issue. The third time they did not show up for 4 hours, so I called to find out where they were. They told me they were swamped, but would try to come by. They came by, looked at my wall, and told me they had to come back. When they canceled an additional time, I got another plumber to take care of the job, and they knocked it out in one day. I had to take 5 days off of work for Sunshine plumbing to do nothing, something that I cannot afford to do. In the end, they charged me 300 dollars for basically nothing. read more

Shoutout to Sunshine Services in Gainesville -- they saved my entire house (and my dignity). So... here's a slightly embarrassing review, but I feel like the internet is the only place where we can admit these things. I had a major septic issue -- and yes, it started with... a very unfortunate crap. My toilets were completely clogged, and whatever was happening basically started backing up through the rest of my plumbing. The smell? Let's just say it had been marinating for a few days before I finally accepted defeat and called for help. I reached out to five different plumbing companies. Every single one showed up acting like I'd personally offended them. They complained about the smell, the "conditions," made me feel judged, and basically refused to touch the job. Then I called Sunshine Services in Gainesville, and it was a night-and-day difference. They showed up, didn't flinch, didn't judge, didn't make me feel gross -- they literally said this kind of situation is run-of-the-mill for them. They fixed everything quickly, got the entire system flowing again, and somehow left my toilets and house looking cleaner than before the whole disaster. The part that really blew me away? Two days later, the owner himself called to check in, make sure everything was still working properly, and that I was doing okay after the chaos. I don't know many companies that would even think to do that. If you're in Gainesville and need a plumber who won't shame you for... being human, call Sunshine. First experience with Greg, who snaked our pipes, was fantastic... but then we needed to get our lines jetted. No call, no show for 2 consecutive appointments: and this after they assured us we were first to be scheduled on both days and there was no problem whatsoever accommodating my husband's works schedule, which is night shift so sleeps during the day. Only explanation provided was the technician was dispatched and "busy," which makes no sense because we were assured we were the 1st of the day. The lack of communication and accountability is unprofessional and inexcusable. I work during the day and my husband should not have to be up until 11am (after working 7p-7a) trying to coordinate this when he has to be up for work later that afternoon. They should at least be trying to contact us to coordinate or reschedule instead of passing the buck on the technician. Be accountable as a company. Oh, and the technician showed up with an almost empty gas tank for his jet and said he only needed to borrow "about a gallon" to run the jetting system. He emptied our whole gas tank into his equipment. 7/31/18 Update: I've been contacted twice now for 2 separate bills on 2 separate visits after we paid in full after each service. Their receipts magically come up with new totals that were not discussed or reflected on previous receipts. Seriously BEWARE. read more

Sunshine Plumbing came to our aid last week when broken pipe lines occurred at our house, waking up with a flood of water in our house....The emergency crew that was sent came within a few minutes. Tim did a great job finding where the leak was coming from and was able to cut off the water....It was then determined and agreed that re-piping of our house was necessary...The next day a crew, Tony and Derrick came early in the morning and were committed to get us water at least in one bathroom by the evening and they did...They have been here every day until today, when our re-piping job was complete....we now have water 100% in the entire house, better pressure and a feeling that we can look forward to years of no problems with our house plumbing... Nate the owner of this company is the best to deal with.....just a nice guy..pleasant, explained what needed to be done and what the end result would be....I believe that the price was fair for the work that was done....Again, the crew that worked here for almost a week, Tony and Derrick were professional, courteous, and are a great asset to Sunshine Plumbing... I've had sunshine out to deal with minor plumbing mishaps and had only positive experiences. But the rubber hit the road this week when I had a foundation leak in my home. They were able to come out promptly for an estimate, and tolerated a lot of back and forth with me and three visits to get the problem properly identified and an estimate put together. They are timely and share ETA via text when the tech is on the way. We are moving forward on a full repipe, and they graciously listened to my needs to prepare not just one, or two, but at least three tailored estimates without losing patience. Everyone they send out is an expert, and that goes a long way. I will update this review when the work is done, but wanted to share this just for the process of working with them. The only downside is they use a call center, which can be frustrating and involve a game of telephone. But almost every plumber in town does the same thing, so what can you do. read more

We called Sunshine Plumbing yesterday and made an appointment to deal with a stopped-up kitchen sink (chronic clog in the pipes). Corey arrived today to help us out and I was very impressed! He arrived on time (at 10:30 am, which is well within the 10-12 pm appointment window) and was very polite, patient, knowledgeable, and professional--explaining what he was going to do and suggesting some eco-friendly options for minimizing clogs in the future. The blockage was very far into the pipes and was a tough clog to handle...but Corey diligently persisted until the blockage cleared and the sink drained normally. When he wrote out the bill, he explained the charges and mentioned some other services Sunshine has that might be useful to us in the future. I appreciated this excellent service and would definitely recommend Sunshine Plumbing based on this good experience. read more

Anthony Matos and a colleague came out today to replace a part in our indoor fireplace that was leaking gas. They had come once before to diagnose the issue. They explained what needed to be done in detail and laid out the expense transparently. They were exactly on time both times, courteous, and paid attention to detail. I also appreciated the communications with Sunshine Plumbing's office -- I immediately talked to a person when I called, and they sent me reminders via text and voicemail about the upcoming appointments. The total cost was high. For them to come out and diagnose the problem was $278. The actual repair the second time they came out was $738 (which includes the part, which cost over $300). I only hope that the company pays their employees their fair share. read more

We live in Haile Village and had a gurgling downstairs toilet that progressed to back up into the downstairs shower. We tried calling 3 other plumbers, including Quality Plumbing,( and could not have dealt with a more un-professional individual at that company who acted completely put out that he had to answer the phone!) From the young lady who answered the phone at Sunshine Plumbing and Gas, to the young man who came to our rescue, Sunshine Plumbing and Gas was completely professional, courteous, and helpful! In the process of trying to determine who to call, I contacted a neighbor who had told me about a positive plumbing experience they had recently had. I am extremely pleased with the heating repairs I received from Sunshine Services. My service technician, Steven Kiener, arrived on time and was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He explained everything in terms I could easily understand and offered both options and recommendations. I will definitely call Sunshine Services for any future HVAC requirements. I would recommend Anthony. He's very professional but also caring. We had just moved into a new home and the already skittish Siamese got scared by a vacuum cleaner and ran down the stairs. We couldn't find her anywhere for 5 days. I was so worried! We looked everywhere but behind the stove. The stove is gas. I didn't know what to do because I have never had a gas stove. I was afraid she had pulled gas lines or something. So I called Sunshine Plumbing. They sent Anthony. He safely moved the stove and the cat was there and ran. He made sure there were no gas leaks! So we called Sunshine plumbing, and I got there Plumber Calvin Who came out Promptly the following morning early since we had 4-5 things that needed fixing and a Big Job under our staircase where the old Water Softner unit was, and also the water heater is located, and this worker/plumber Calvin did a Superb job and was very efficient and knowledgable, and completed all the problems, and tasks with expertise and got the job done with 100% satisfaction.!!! Fantastic! Our plumber, John, was on time (actually, early) friendly and so helpful. Plus their office called a couple days later just to make sure we were happy. I've called these guys before and they're always great. Their rates are reasonable, and they have no hidden charges. Some plumbers we've used would charge a "service call" fee that wouldn't go toward your total price. They say it's for the time taken to get out there, etc. Hello? It's not like I can bring my plumbing to them; they kind of have to come here! Sunshine does nothing like that. We needed our house repiped as it was built in 1978. We are doing a kitchen remodel and realized that now would be the appropriate time to re do the pipes from copper under house to pex in attic. We had a few estimates and Sunshine was the best. Had to go with it. Very happy w the guys that were here for 5 days. I didn't realize I was getting new faucets with the deal. I'd of chosen brushed gold for the one bathroom had I known. But that's easily changed. So for having to spend an extra 8k on the house sucks but I would rather have clean pipes than upgraded countertops for sure. Thanks guys read more

The problem (water header pilot not stay on),:was resolved by the tech, the problem was after I asked him if their work is warranty ( in case the pilot goes off in the next 24 hrs or so); he stated that is the pilot goes off that is not his problem that he did not replaced any parts, I told him that even he did not replaced any parts what about the work that he had done was warranty. He with actitud said that if I have a problem with that to call the office. Looks like he needs to have some kind of training when dealing with customers. read more

Decided to upgrade to a Gas Tankless Hot Water Heater when my Electric 40gal Tank started leaking. They sent a Great Guy named Tommy out to take care of it. He crawled through my attic running the gas line (and it's not an easy space to access), reworked the electric box and the plumbing for the new unit and mounted it out back like a Pro!
