Maple bacon pancakes!
Tony J.

Alma is the new manager, and wow, there's been significant positive changes to this Norms location! Our waitress Jacqueline, is very attentive toward each table. There were a few hiccups, but overall a pleasant meal. Would like to note that there were stains or dried food on my silverware. (See Pic) In addition, when the other customers, in the booth next to us got up, we noticed an unpleasant odor. Yay, the food finally arrives and it looks delicious ! Friend says the food is tasting wicked good. (See Vid.) Best Part: Only 14 dollars and 99 cents baby back ribs, half rack of tender meat. The meal went beyond my expectations, quite good surprisingly ! (and it passed my how does it taste the next day reheated test too) Would also like to mention that they make very good sauces themselves too. - As well as the dressings for the salad. In conclusion, definitely gonna come back, Norms is especially great when you're on a budget! Considering going back and getting these meals to go !

So reality vs what is advertised is very different.

Had a great meal here at norms. Jenny was fantastic at helping us suggest some things that other family members wanted to go. All in all Norms is always good for some pancakes when your craving them later in the day.

This restaurant was clean. It is a great place of nostalgia for me. Classic American food options some things were bland was I could not give 5 stars. The prices are unbeatable and the portions are generous. You will need some salt and pepper nearby but food is worth it! The waiter was friendly and accommodating.

Located on E. Katella Ave near N. Tustin St. with plenty of parking. We stopped here on Saturday afternoon for a late breakfast. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. I had their 'Lumberjack Breakfast', which consists of 3 eggs, 3 bacon strips, 3 sausage links, hashbrowns, and 3 pancakes. I topped my pancakes with strawberries. Food tasted delicious and fresh. The service was great. Shout out to our server, Marco who was extremely attentive, making sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean and organized during our visit. Overall, we had a great experience at this location and will definitely return.

Went here for the nostalgia of going with friends late at night ordering breakfast for dinner. Ah, the memories! Old school diner vibes, this restaurant kept up on the cleanliness too. THE FOOD. - Sirloin Steak & Eggs | Notably, the sirloin steak was juicy and flavorful; much more than expected. Hashbrowns were crisp and buttery and the over easy eggs were cooked right. Recommend trying this dish out. - Pancakes | Fluffy and buttery. THE DRINK. - Iced Tea | Your standard, run of the mill iced tea. Nothing fancy. THE PARKING. Free parking available, no issues finding an open spot. COMING BACK? Yes! I loved the dish I got and would go back for that exact thing. Oh, and the staff was prompt with getting all our food out so we didn't have to sit there being hangry.

We came to Norms after a long day at Disneyland and were sat immediately. We were lucky enough to be placed in Marcos's section, and he truly made our visit exceptional. His service was beyond wonderful--warm, attentive, and genuine from start to finish. He checked on us at the perfect times without ever feeling intrusive, and his recommendations were spot on. You could tell he really knows the menu and takes pride in making sure his guests have a great experience. Marcos had such a friendly, welcoming energy that made us feel right at home. Even though we used to live in Orange and have since moved away, he made our visit feel like we never left. Coming back for the night and returning to our favorite restaurant was nostalgic, and Norms was exactly how we remembered it--awesome! Thank you so much, Marcos, for going above and beyond. You were truly wonderful, and we will definitely be back!

One of my favorite places has mad a turn for the worst! Food was disgusting pancakes tasted completely gross. Waffle had chemical taste to it and was undercooked. My eggs were burned and onions and other weird things in it when I just ordered eggs. Extremely hot in here and uncomfortable. I don't think I'll be coming back to spend my money here! Come in on the 10/11/25 at 2:53

This has to be a joke right? $15.99 and this is the amount of hash brown to get. Sure, doesn't look like the menu photo. I won't be coming back

Thanks Nicole

We ordered at the counter. The wait to order was short. The service staff were fast and efficient. We found a booth and waited for our order. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms were okay. There was a water leak in the men's room that made the floor wet in one area. The restaurant was decorated nicely. It had a nice diner vibe. The noise level was okay, We ordered a Junior Burger, a Bacon Burger Combo and a side of French Fries. Our granddaughter requested the Hamburger Kid's Meal with Apple Juice. Our order was ready rather quickly. All the food came out hot. The Bacon Burger and Junior Burger tasted good. Both were flavorful and were well dressed. The buns were good. The fries were just okay. Not great but not bad. The granddaughter loved her meal. She ate over half of the hamburger (pretty good for her age). She ate all of her fries and part of mine. The portions on the Kid's meal were generous. The added bonus were the two lollipops that came with. This meal was in a kid friendly paper bag. The price was a bit up there but that's pretty much standard at most burger places.

It's a great spot for breakfast or brunch, and the staff made the visit even better with their attentive and friendly service. The food was fresh, hearty, and very tasty. I ordered their stuffed French toast, giant pancakes, and got the chicken fried steak and eggs for my husband. The pancakes were fluffy and huge and good. The chicken fried steak was a bit dry as it was overcooked. He was so hungry that I didn't have a chance to grab a photo before he inhaled his meal. At this place, the portions were generous so we both had lots of leftovers to take home. Only downside was our waiter. She was busy but kept forgetting to refill our coffee and water. In addition, I had to ask for clean silverware but the second set was also dirty. Had to wait for clean ones and by the time I got them my food wasn't hot and was warm instead. Parking was convenient since the restaurant has its own parking area along with additional nearby shopping center parking. Overall, Flappy Jack's in Orange is a great local breakfast spot with tasty comfort food, and large portions.

I liked that they offered flavored creamer for your coffee in addition to regular cream. And their coffee was good. Everyone was nice. We were greeted when we walked in and were seated right away. Our food came out pretty quickly. The first impression of our dishes was kind of a "hot mess". The food was just thrown onto the plate - especially my husband's. He had the Louisiana hot links with egg, hash browns and biscuits. I personally would suggest you ask for the biscuit and gravy on the side - otherwise it will just be at the bottom of your other food. I kinda like a little effort when it comes to presentation. But don't get me wrong, the food tasted good. I had the corned beef hash and eggs which was good - the hash looked to be made in-house. It was good - but to be honest, I actually prefer the old school corned beef hash from a can, that's toasted on the grill. And as for the vibe of the restaurant, it's not real homey. Kinda feels like a diner you would come across while on a road trip. This really isn't my style of a breakfast diner, but it's pretty popular- there were a lot of families enjoying themselves, so maybe give a try and see if it's for you.

Pulling into the parking lot, I knew this was a very well loved restaurant because the lot was packed ~ and it's a pretty good sized lot! Walking up to the door, it's pretty obvious, in a good way, that it's an establishment that's been around for a while. With bustling deli and pastry cases near the entrance, Benjie's instantly gives off a Cheers vibe, even for this first timer. There's a counter to sit at if you're dining solo, or if you've got more people in your party there are plenty of traditional booths and tables. The menu is extensive with all of the traditional deli/diner favorites. In order to try more, we decided to split everything. We ordered Reuben Fritters as a starter, a Pastrami sandwich on a French roll, and cheese blintzes for dessert. The Reuben Fritters were a nice take on the sandwich with a mixture of tender corned beef and the perfect amount of cheeses and sauerkraut rolled in bread crumbs and fried to perfection. The pastrami sandwich was piled high with meat and served with a side of onion rings. We were already getting full at this point, but we couldn't resist the cheese blintzes that were patiently waiting for us to give them a try. I swear I don't live under a rock, but I've never had blintzes before and these were VERY good! We went with the traditional preparation, although I read someone's review that said these could also be requested fried. Definitely worth a try next time. I'm imagining pure decadence! Our server was friendly and kept on top of keeping our beverages filled and checking to see if we needed anything. We left filled with excellent comfort food and an overall great experience. Looking forward to trying some more things on the menu soon!

You can tell they've been around for a long time in the best way. It has that classic deli feel with a mix of diner, café, and old school market vibes. Service was friendly and helpful, even during the lunch rush. We went around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it was definitely busy, but the wait felt expected and worth it. Portion wise, they do not hold back. You really get a bang for your buck here. The smoked fish platter was the highlight for me. I genuinely loved everything on it. It's perfect for sharing (or for leftovers ). It almost feels like a DIY bagel experience you get to mix and match different toppings and flavors, which I'm obsessed with. Also... I tried an egg bagel for the first time and it lowkey changed my life. They make their bagels in house and sell them by the half dozen but they do sell out. By the time we finished eating, they were already out, so if you want some to take home, grab them as soon as you walk in. The Benjie Special was solid super flavorful and packed with a generous amount of pastrami. It did lean a bit greasy for our taste, but that really just comes down to personal preference. They also offer a variety of cold deli items by the pound, which adds to that classic New York-style deli experience. Overall: A cozy, old school deli with generous portions, quality food, and that nostalgic mom and pop charm. Definitely a spot we'd come back to.
