Riverview location: I started coming here 3 years ago. Didn't have insurance, just paid cash. Norma is an awesome dentist. She was very empathic and listened to my concerns and formulated a treatment plan that worked for me. She is never pushy on upselling and I really appreciate that she does things not to make the most money, but what is the best for her patients. She has my loyalty for life. I had composite filling that needed repair after 3 years, and at first it was composite for bottom right teeth. But it was sensitive, so the sensitive spot we did a small spot of composite. And the other two molars, bottom and top left side, very rear had issues too. But I talked it over with Norma, and we decided that for my heavy bite that amalgam would be better, which I happen to agree with. Years before I had amalgam for the rear tooths..and sometimes it lastes as long as 10 years, but sometimes it fails as soon as 3. So rear molars are going back to be amalgam next time it needs replacing. I would have preferred gold filling, but that is not an option anymore..too bad. P.S. Although prices have crept up over the years, as have everything else, she gave me a discount for being later than usual due to end of the year holiday scheduling. I am very grateful for that! P.S.2 Although scheduling isn't easy for me now that I have to take my son to school far away so mainly I just have after 3:30 pm available..and since she only there at the location Tuesday and Fridays..but the location is super close to my house, so I like it. Attempted to get my mom dentures and they submitted the referral with missing information. I informed them that information was missing in order to get the referral approved and they stated they would submit again. I waited about a month and didn't hear back. I called them and they said they would ask there biller as she is the one who does referrals. Didn't hear back again. So I called again and receptionist stated ," I am so glad you called, the doctor is no longer working with medical." So I went to look at the medical website and her license is active with medical. So why are they lying? And is it ok to accept some medical services and not others when you are a medical provider? Definitely will be Filing a grievance because something seems off here. read more

I am a new patient who came to this practice, just looking for someone who would take my insurance and had a decent rating. I was pleasantly surprised at finding a topnotch dentist. I had bleeding gums and a loose molar. I was immediately given several x-rays, then sent directly for a deplaning. Lupe, the hygienist, did a great job. I had never been to any other hygienist that I felt thrilled to be worked on. Now I have that feeling in 2 visits in a row with Lupe. She is reason enough for the highest review. Dr. Vazquez is knowledgeable, she grasped all my issues, set out a treatment plan with options, schedule and costs. I have been to several dentists where I felt like I was nothing more than a cash cow. Dr. Vazquez does not work for free, but I felt that patient care was more important than selling upgrades. The billing and insurance aspect of the practice also seem to be above normal. Charges are clear, insurance response is fast as well as interface with pharmacies. read more

Hi, This is my second review for Dr Vasquez. She is by far the best dentist that I have ever had, her office is very well run and she has an excellent staff. She goes out of her way to help her patients with great care and gives the most affordable care in Riverside. I just had 3 crowns done and as always they were done to perfection. Her office was closed but the day after Christmas but she came in and removed the nerve from a tooth that was giving me a lot of pain. She also did my implant for half of what the other specialist wanted and it came out perfect. I highly recommend this dentist. read more

Me and my fam were clients here.I was in a horrible accident needed something affordable and could not afford a an over $4,000 procedure Norma was charging me. l cried.and they did not want to work payments out with me. Keep in mind me and my family were continuous patients here always paid full price. West Coast Dentistry, is still the best dentist office I have been too really. I just wanted to leave a review, for everyone trying their best to take better care of their teeth, because all the staff are trying their best to help you do this. The dental cleaning lady even taught me the best way to floss, that I was unaware of, I even showed family, and they did not realize they needed to floss(gently) that low. Or brushing the floss against one tooth to the base, then against the other to the base, then lifting repeating and so on. Before I would just push the floss through and brush against teeth randomly, and the floss would not go deep enough or brush and clean as in depth and precisely as it does now with that learned method. Seriously everytime I go for a cleaning now it's like my teeth are already clean, it feels like a yearly cleaning all year long! Learned a lot of better hygiene habits to take better care of teeth here! Also the dentist really lets you ask a lot of questions, even with the x-rays and lets you see the x-rays too, and ask about the teeth in the x-rays, that is much appreciated! I also wanted to leave this review because I wanted to let everyone in the office know their work is appreciated. Because I feel like recently when I went last time the dentist and office didn't really know that, because when the dentist was making a filling, the last time, there was a lot of talking going on as the drilling was happening, and also during the whole procedure. And this happens rarely in the office but the last time it was the worst, however there was one time awhile ago I remember the drill going astray during a conversation, but luckily it only tapped a tooth in a non damaging way, so I said nothing then, but this time again it was the worst, because multiple times, instead of the water jet going onto my tooth, the distracting conversation led it into my lungs. Multiple times I noted that I couldn't breath, there were sorries, but the chatter stayed the same. The end result was not finished also. Eventually when Norma asked if everything's ok I said, I feel like I'm a second priority to the conversation, and everything got quite. I felt I upset everyone in the office with that statement, and no-one saw that I still really appreciated everyone. But I really had to say it, I seriously love and appreciate everyone in the office, but it was a positive comment, because I'm sure the dentist really wants to take care of everyone to their best possible ability, and that requires 100% focus. So it is a positive comment because otherwise with a lot of conversation, part of your consciousness is taken off elsewhere, so it is not 100% focus, and it is not someone doing there 100% best to make sure a persons health, and teeth that will be on them for the rest of their lives are being taken care of to the best of their ability. So it really is a posative comment that just is a reminder that would really just help the dentist and office treat all patients the best. And help them take care of their teeth to the best of their ability, really there is nothing bad about that, I hope the office sees this comment and that I really do care and was only trying to say a positive comment. And for everyone reading this, the chatter does rarely ever happen, because the office does recognize the importance and seriousness of teeth, and that helping take care of someones teeth, makes a healthier person, a happier body, and person by person- world. And it also spreads happiness, because a smile that shows someone is happy and healthy gives hope that everyone too can be happy and healthy, so the majority of the time everyone is taking the job very seriously and as the number 1 priority because they know it is a seriously important job that impacts everyones health and well being. Because damaged teeth make it harder to eat, damage health and well being, and also make it difficult to be a productive helping member of society because of tooth pain, and others will judge your teeth, and focus on that and not what you do sadly. So I do fully recommend eveyone here and just hope that Norma and the office really see my comment as a posative one and are not mad at me, sometimes everyone including me get distracted it's understandable, and it's also understandable when we positively remind eachother to please focus again, there's nothing wrong with that, again I seriously love everyone at that office they are very nice and helped me to learn a lot about teeth care. read more

First off, I want to say that I love Dr. Norma, my complaint is with her office policy (assistant). We have been coming here for over three years and of course sometimes one shows up for their appointment on time and they are behind so the patient has to wait for over 30 minutes sometimes. But we still come back every year and have referred many more patients, but the one time we call the same day to cancel they don't waive the fee for cancelling the same day. But we had to waste our time many many times waiting for our appointment even though we showed up on time. And when I called her office assistant (Angie) to tell her why we were a little upset, she said she was sorry, literally the conversation lasted 2 minutes, she didn't even try to make me stay as a customer, WOW! This is unacceptable, they have lost our business and trust me they will lose many more of the patients we referred. read more

The from office woman was very kind and professional, the rda that conducted my X rays was knowledgeable and did a great job. The dentist dr. I don't know about anyone else but I get picky when someone is going to be putting sharp, pointy items in my mouth. Luck was on my side when being referred to Norma Vazquez. She has been my dentist for about three years. She just finished pulling a tooth and getting a bridge ready for me. Professional, caring and personable describe her. Not only her but her staff of Angie, Irene and Anna. Mix in a gentle demeanor and you have an atmosphere that is hard to beat. For her it isn't a job. Being a dentist for her is a joy. Norma exudes that attitude and it transcends in the quality of work she preforms. From reading the reviews posted most everyone agrees except one. That's ok. You can't please everyone. In this case I do mean one. I do know she doesn't keep patients waiting unless there is a legitimate reason. It could be the previous client may have come in late or needed more work than time was allotted. If that were you I doubt you would have wanted her to say "I have to stop now so my other patients don't get behind. Just come back another day." As for cancellation fees, most business have them. Try changing a plane reservation or being late on paying a bill. It is part of life. A good employee will follow the policy set forth. Another person is right when she said "I love Dr. Norma." I have been going to this Orthodontist for over a year now and they have been great! They are great with setting up appointments and they are really nice! If you ask how much longer for your braces to be on they will let you know how many more months. They also have this neat thing were if you show up on time and you have no broken wires then you get a token. I love this and I have gotten many tokens.
