Update: 6 years later and I still have had nothing but amazing experiences for my deep cleanings, 6-month routine check ups and filings. I just had 2 small cavities taken care of yesterday and I went in there with such ease knowing I was in good hands based on my previous experience with Dr. Akkari. Once again, the whole process was completely pain free and I was out of there in less than an hour (the procedure itself was at most 15 minutes). Also, I cant understand why there are a few negative reviews about their receptionists. Rita has always been super sweet & I can't remember the other ladies name but they have always been super polite and helpful with scheduling, rescheduling, checking in & helping me get a referral to an oral surgeon. The dentist is good, but the office manager, Rita, is extremely nasty & actually makes medical timing decisions on her own, which can affect your dental health. She demands payment up front & demands you reschedule if you don't pay up front, even if you had been paying for service after service rendered many times. I was a patient and called the after hours emergency phone when I was in pain several times. The dentist (Akkari) NEVER returned my calls, the phone call was forwarded to the regular day office phone to leave a message. I believe Rita screened those calls and never forwarded them to Akkari (the dentist). No longer recommended. read more

Do not believe these fake reviews. The Reviews have the same verbiage and everyone does not write the exact same way. For example "Dr. Akkari is amazing and his staff is amazing." That's the same person writing all of these reviews so they can get more customers. Customer Service is horrible. The person answering the phones to make appointments is incompetent and is very rude. I called to make an appointment early March and the girl scheduled me for a day that I told her I could not make. So I end up missing that appointment because I didn't know about it. The appointment date I thought I was scheduled for, there was no record of it when I called the day of to double check. The woman said she would call me back for an update to schedule another appointment. Never received a call from her. Fast forward to yesterday. I called multiple time before I got through and the woman was very rude. I explained the previous issue with getting an appointment and that they should have my previous information there. She explains that because I never made it the 2 appointments (that I was not aware of) they needed my information again. Okay, fine. I've never heard of any dentist office deleting your insurance information from their record, but I digress. She then puts me on hold to look up my information. And comes back as if she never put me on hold. I told her I was put on hold, then she miraculously remembered. It had been about 30 secs btw. Horrible impression. Then I had to ask her if she wanted my insurance information and she was not listening to anything I said. So I had to keep repeating myself. That is very irritating. Dr.Akkari may be amazing but I will never know because I refuse to interact with such incompetent people who does not know how to treat there customers. read more

Best Dentist in Town! I've lived in the Riverside area since 2003 and until a few years ago, I traveled 50 miles one-way to see my dentist. I tried several times to find a dentist out here in the Riverside area that were personable, reasonable when I had to pay out of pocket, and knew who I was when I had an appointment. Dr. Akkari is it! From fillings to implants to replacement crowns, he's won my confidence and appreciation for his detailed attention to my dental needs. When I was told this was the best they could make my crowns look, Dr. Akkari proved them wrong. My new crowns look awesome and I love them. Love coming to this dentist! I thank my friend for recommending me this place 2 years ago for when I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled out! With basic insurance and with excruciating pain from the wisdom teeth I was desperate to find a dentist to pull them out and without being under general anesthesia..so I came here and was able to get the surgery and have my wisdom teeth out with local anesthesia...Dr. Akkari is really god and gentle and has a great amount of patience..he is direct and honest about the work that is needed and you can tell he is there to truly help the patients. I come here for any work that I need regardless if I have to pay out of pocket but they have driven all my fears of going to the dentist away as they are all very friendly and welcoming and caring of patients. Wow I am so impressed. I was scared to death! I had a cracked tooth and I thought it was a loss. Dr. Akkari was so amazing! First off I felt nothing during the procedure and the whole time I was laying there I couldn't believe I let my crack go this long for no reason at all except the fear in my head! I came here because of the good Yelp ratings. Maybe I just had a bad experience. I hadn't had my teeth cleaned in almost 2 years and was so relieved to get a cleaning. But the cleaning lasted between 10 to 15 minutes, tops. I looked at the clock going into the cleaning (it was 11:50) and looked at it coming out (12:05). I refused to go to my previous dentist because I was treated like a child there. I didn't want to waste any extra time watching pointless videos on how to floss, brush, and rinse my mouth before each procedure that needed to be done. The videos added at least an extra 15 minutes on top of having to wait even longer because appointments would always get pushed back. Thank Yelp though for letting me become aware of not only Dr. Akkari but his entire staff that he has employed there! After refusing to go to the dentist for years, I decided it was time to get an exam and check up. Booking the appointment was extremely easy and also the is a Yelp check in where you can get a free exam. The office is a little small and it was a tad confusing finding it but there is parking behind and to the side of the office. Every time I have been here, I've always been welcomed and it's nice to see the assistants talk to those that are waiting but have genuine conversations with other patients such as asking how family is that moved up towards San Francisco but really seem interested in what the patients say. Since my initial exam, I needed to get my teeth cleaned and at first there was an issue with my insurance because of there being two different Delta offices. Getting the issue figured out that was extremely easy and once that was taken care of I followed through with getting my teeth cleaned. I've personally never had a problem with the dentists or hygienist cleaning my teeth and found it somewhat pleasant but the entire time the hygienist let me know to let him know if there was any discomfort. I highly recommend anyone to visit this office, especially if there is a free exam with Yelp check in because it's always great to know about the health of your teeth and gums but it can also let you know if you may possibly have other dental emergencies that will end up costing yourself more in the long run. read more

The best dental spot that I've ever been to! They are friendly, caring and fast. I've never been to a dentist where they care as much as they do here. Angel is the funniest. His personality is awesome. He is sways energetic and happy to work. First off. When they put the numb cream on my gums, they put a gauze over it so I won't taste it. Never have I ever been to a spot that does that. It shocked me when they did that. Second. When I got my crown they tried to match it to my teeth perfectly. And when it came in, they give you the option to take and back and get a different color before they put it in, if you don't like it. Angel and Dr. Akkari are legit. They work well together. They make you feel comfortable while they are working on you. The doctor knows his stuff. He's really good at what he does. Posting on behalf of my girlfriend: This was not my typical dentist but they were able to take me as a walk-in and book an appointment for me within two days for wisdom teeth extraction. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Akkari was very kind, knowledgeable and removed my wisdom teeth with practically no pain afterwards. He truly waits for medications to kick in so procedures are as painless as they can be. Came to the dentist with an aching wisdom tooth. I was seen with in a couple minutes to check out the issue and was told I needed to remove my left side wisdom teeth. They prescribed me medication for the pain, and I was schedule the following 2 days for extraction. The day of extraction, I was extremely nervous, but the Dr made me feel so comfortable and insured me I wasn't going to feel a thing. They numbed me for 20 minutes, and right when the Dr came in, he "checked" to see if it was lose and 10 seconds later he popped out my first tooth. No pain at all, just feel pressure. A second later the other wisdom tooth way out! The day of and the following healing days were pain free thank goodness. I highly suggest going to him! This dentist is amazing read more
