I came to Delaware on business and as soon as I saw Christiana mall was nearby and had a Nordstrom I had to check it out. I was not disappointed but also not impressed. The location itself is very small. This is one of the smallest Nordstroms I have ever been to. The place is in the Christiana Mall which has a variety of stores. The store itslef was very well organized and clean. The womens clothing was well stocked and had some of the Nordstrom brands. I was so disappointed to not see a lot of the brands I am used to buying here. They did have Zella, Veronica Beard and some brands I am used to seeing. I didn't interact with any employees but they all seemed to be working and putting clothing on racks. No problems here just probably the smallest selection and variety here at this Nordstrom ever. read more

Great store has everything a typical Nordstrom carries. It is clean, organized and laid out well. The sunglass section is great. The cosmetic section is fantastic. They carry my favorites, CHANEL and a wide array of Super Goop! A+ five stars to Lin who helped me with a skin care purchase. Complete excellence! Superb customer service, knowledgeable, friendly. I love this store. I'm almost crying while typing this review. I got my make up done at the store this morning by Ebony who was a saint. She made me feel like a new woman again. After having a baby we sometimes let ourselves go and I left the store glowing, feeling like me again. I then went home and realized my bag of products was missing and became devastated. I called the store and the manager Russell along with his team made everything right again which I didn't expect. They were empathetic, caring, understanding and truly mended everything over again even though they didn't have to & this clearly wasn't their fault. I opened a credit card and now will be lifelong customer because of their kindness and professionalism. Easily one of my favorite department stores. Nordstrom's is always my go to especially for shoes and handbags because they carry brands I really love like Tory Burch and Chloe. They have the ubiquitous rewards program but they stack up pretty fast if you are a card holder (2 points per dollar spent) versus being a member (1 point per dollar spent). The actual store has been a great addition to Christiana Mall, I had been used to shopping there on line. Free shipping and free returns is always a plus and of course you have the buy on line pick up in store. They also have a personal shopper experience. I haven't tried that service yet but I defiantly would if I was short on time and needed someone to do it for me. Sometimes paying for convenience pays off. read more

Came here with a colleague of mine to stock up on a few MAC items since hey, there's no tax. At the time, service was great. However, I ended up going back here alone the following week on a business trip seeking to purchase a few other products and unfortunately, I wasn't approached by anyone because it seemed they were understaffed! I even rotated the floor 2-3 more times to see if anyone else would help assist, but sadly, there was nobody insight! Only 1 person was available, but for the 15-20 minutes I was trying out different products in the MAC department, I wasn't approached and that sales lady disappeared. Since that was the case, I gladly went elsewhere with my products in hand to give someone else the commission. There just wasn't anyone around in that department! As a former employee having worked for the Rack and Nordstrom main line stores from stock, cashiering to sales, I know how to better serve customers and unfortunately at this location, the lack of staff and support fell short and perhaps the management here needs some training along with their staff. Their cafe is awesome. Marge in Men's is awesome. I don't buy clothing anywhere else. Why? Simply put: The SERVICE. I can buy my clothes elsewhere, and I guarantee I can save a few pennies doing so, but that is not why I shop a Nordstrom. You are treated like your purchases actually means something to the company. They carry some of the best brands in fashion and they are very knowledgable about said brands. They don't pretend to be happy and above all have enough respect for the customer to give them their space while they make their purchase decisions. They are very laid back and not rushed when I am indecisive. I tell Marge what I am looking for and she helps me find what I want. Wow, a salesperson that actually does more than just ring you up on the register, go figure. The restaurant service was the biggest surprise of all. My server was Ian and I couldn't believe the attention to detail that he had and how he provided an outstanding experience for me during an otherwise mundane, typical lunch. It made the food that much better, even though it was delicious on its own. I was waiting for my sister to arrive and he constantly checked back on me, making sure I was okay. It was very sweet and sincere of him. Nordstrom is the old-school shopping experience for the 21st century. Well worth anyone's money. read more

I think I've only written one bad review since joining yelp many years ago, but this business deserves it. I shopped with my 12 year old for a long time before deciding on what we wanted to buy. I noticed the salespeople were involved in conversation with each other the whole time. We approached the counter and Kirsten M. had to be prompted by her fellow worker to even wait on us and then refused to sell us a shirt because we didn't have a Nordstrom's card. Not refused to sell it to us on sale, refused to sell it to us at all, my kid was there getting tears in her eyes. I got bullied into applying for a card just to get my kid the dang shirt and she said my application was declined, so here I am just having handed this woman personal information and she's lying and still refusing to sell the shirt. Well I left but after thinking about it I was pretty sure that things in a store are for sale if you have the money so I took it to customer service after buying the stuff she allowed us to buy. Well we were allowed to buy it after all, and maybe I would have just said she was having a bad day and forgot about it, but after all that and going back upstairs and giving another person this piece of paper Kiersten had given us to come back later for the shirt that turned out to be worthless and more of her shenanigans I guess. I bought it from customer service and they didn't even give us the sale price. My daughter also tells me that after refusing to sell us the shirt in the 1st place she turned around and giggled at her friend. The worst, that is all. read more

Wow! Nordstrom has changed and not for the better! I've visited this store on several occasions and each time, I had to either flag a sales person for help or couldn't get help because sales people were too deep in conversation assist! This departments are woefully understaffed! Am I in Kohls or Macys? At least they have sales staff who greet and ask for assistance! Where is the merchandise?? The store has so much wasted space and there is hardly any product selection!! Years ago, I could always find something to my liking in Nordstrom but not anymore. This review is for the women's intimates department only. I met a girlfriend here on a Saturday morning with hopes of finding her a new, properly fitting bra. I'm really, really good at fitting women into the correct bra size - too many women are wearing the wrong bra! It's uncomfortable and makes your tits look like shit. Also, most bra-fitters in the US are totally doing it wrong. Just add inches? Lol, no. That's not how this works. Anyhoo, we walked into the intimates section and started browsing - the selection of the floor was very limited, with no back stock in the drawers under the wall displays; anything not out, needed to be asked for. Ugh. What a pain in the ass. A very nice woman approached us and asked if we needed help. I mentioned that we were looking for a UK size (34FF) and mentioned that I think that translates into a US 34G (It does, I knew this already). She immediately dismissed me and started grabbing 34D bras for my friend. Shockingly, none of these bras worked. She tried to increase the band size - absolutely not. If you know anything about bras you know that sister sizes are a thing, but you cant just go adjusting the band size all willy nilly to fill your agenda. If you have the size I want in stock, give it to me. We went back and forth with this woman for over an hour, and I've got to say she was very pleasant and did a lot of back and forth into the stock room for us during this time. But, in the long run, guess what bra fit? The 34G - just like we asked for. While we appreciated her help, our visit could have been a 30min one, instead of the hour and a half we spent wrangling tits in and out of lycra and cotton, had she just listened to us in the first place. If you're planning on visiting for a new bra, I'd plan on spending a lot of time here, even if you know what size you're looking for. If you don't, I'd be a little weary of their sizing strategy. read more

After a not so great experience with Kenneth I went back in to pick up an online order I had placed four weeks ago and did not receive a call until a week ago, no message either, just a phone call, left me wondering if it was Nordstrom so I stopped in to see if it was indeed my sunglasses that had finally arrived. Rashandara (sry for spelling) was busy in the purse department but rushed over to help me, she was extremely pleasant and so helpful. Hands down the best coffee in DE. Little touches like putting actual pumpkin in an PSL makes all the difference. Staff is always very friendly and welcoming. They are one of the main reasons I will always choose the E-Bar with Starbucks just a 5 minute walk away. read more

I said I'd be back and I finally made it. 2 hours and quite a few dollars later. I went in search of my first pair of toms. I wanted cream colored ones buy of course they were sold out of my color oh well on to the next. I chose gray and am really happy with my choice . The shoe department is huge and well stocked alot of brands a few favs in my price range -steve madden , Jessica Simpson and sperrys (so many colors to chose from) I wandered upstairs in search of white jeans hudsons to be exact unfortunatley they only had super model sizes so no jeans for me :( I found a really cute dress different sized stripes( it's a dual purpose dress work and fun ! Beauty department was my next stop they were having a crazy mascara sale-buy 2 (any brand I might add) get one free! I was good on the mascara but it was hard to turn down such a good deal, they have every brand of makeup I love (Nars , mac, Bobbi brown) I didn't have time for a full face do over but saw the artists doing really cute looks on some other ladies. I got new perfume and the sales lady hooked me up with some new samples ( coach , prada amber ) I was really impressed with the professional staff, organized store and sales going on. First off I want to start by saying that I will not be going to this Nordstrom again. I felt as though I was targeted because I didn't look a certain way. I guess I looked as if I wasn't suppose to be shopping there. But, at the end of the day that doesn't give nobody the right to try to be rude and act unfairly. I wanted to try a couple things on and I was trying to take my time to look at the stuff make sure I like everything because I never had the chance to ever try the brand out . And Diane K. just wasn't being patient and acted as if she had something against me. Crazy thing is she was helping out a Caucasian couple as well and treated them no way near the way she treated me. Never did I ever come off rude to her or treated her a way to give her a reason to treat me how she did. I didn't cause a scene or anything cause I honestly felt very upset about this. I really wanted to give this Nordstrom 5 stars, but the employees in the children's department and a certain woman at the MAC counter really brought it down for me. Let me say that they service in the mens clothing and shoe department is beyond stellar! My husband shops here a few times a month, and they know him. He's had pants tailored, and the quality of the work is great. I don't mind going with him when he's shopping, because they actually help him make decisions so I'm not stuck there for hours (my husband is very indecisive). I LOOVE the handbag department. The woman are friendly, answer your questions if you have them, but they aren't crowding your space pushing you to make a purchase. If there store doesn't have what you are looking for, they will look it up for you and see if they can get it shipped to you. I went to the infant department to look for cute baby shoes, as I'm expecting. Since I'm a first time mom, I was asking the associate what size coordinates with age/month. She sort of blew me off, told me to look at the box.....ok. Needless to say, I did not make a purchase from her. Down in the makeup department.....I am a huge fan of MAC cosmetics. As usual the counter was jumping and only one artist working. No worries, I figured I would just browse and wait my turn. The woman (she's asian and I want to say her name is Joni, but I could be mistaken on the name), asked me if there was something she could get me and ring me up for, I said no I actually had a question about my 'brows so I'll wait. She seemed unsatisfied with my answer but went back to her client. After she was finished it was my turn, and she definitly did not want to spend the time with me that she had with her previous guest. Instead of actually showing me the eyebrow powder and pencil she recommended, on my face, she showed me on her hand....ok. I bough over $150 worth of makeup only for her to insult me AFTER I signed my credit card slip. She asked me very odd and insulting questions about my pregnancy....if I was carrying a boy, twins, and then telling me she thought I would have been further along in my pregnancy due to my size. Oh ok, well I returned my purchase and then went to the MAC in the mall and made my purchase, and then some, and wasn't insulted in the process. After my MAC experience, I wanted to give the store a 3, but the quality of service in the other departments compensate for the occasional poor employee. read more

Great that they are in Delaware...shrewd decision with the "tax free shopping" angle...I have only bought one thing there, but the real rave for me is the cafe...MAN, the food is absolutely delicious there...beautiful space and the food items are right on the mark...I have eaten lunch there a few times...chicken salad sandwich is my favorite...not to mayonaissey and the bread it is served on is crunchy and tasty....I had the braised boneless spare ribs with carmelized carrots and mashed potatoes for dinner...the best "comfort food" I have had since I moved from Atlanta in Feb. It is not very busy now but I have a strong feeling that the word will spread soon on this gem of a restaurant. Enjoy! read more

I was not greeted or acknowledged by anyone in this store. Once a picked an item up and walked to another area of the store an associate nearby asked if I needed help. She had not offered to help me prior to me selecting an item. I informed her that I was still looking around and she offered no further assistance. I selected and other item and walked around the store looking for someone to ring me up. I finally found someone and she only asked if someone had helped me. I replied "absolutely not". I have eaten at the Sixth & Pine restaurant at Nordstrom many times. While the service is quite good, the food is not consistent in taste. The Chicken Pot Pie Soup has been at times watery, oily or good. The Split Pea Soup with Cilantro has no taste of cilantro. The Chili is decided lacking in the key ingredient that makes chili taste like chili: cumin. Both the Corned Beef and the Pastrami Sandwiches have been returned more frequently than eaten. They tend to be rubbery. The French Dip Sandwich has come to me with an Au Jus sauce that is frequently tasteless, or oily or too salty. On the bright side, the salads are all well-made and dressed properly. When ordering any of them that have croutons you do need to ask that they not burn them. For the price, the Warm Salmon Salad is not worth it when you consider that they use a piece of frozen salmon in it. The only thing that makes this restaurant worth eating in is that there if you are already shopping at Nordstrom, which is a bit lacklustre compared to many of their other stores, is that it is convenient. read more

Long time shopper at Nordstrom's! I rarely go anywhere else. The customer service is great, the return policy is awesome, and they will price match things you may find cheaper elsewhere. My Nordstrom card gives me points for Nordstrom Notes to spend, which is really nice because I like to stock up at their anniversary sale. Wish the Christiana Mall store was just a little bigger, but when I go there I have no complaints!
