I was in Delaware for business and stopped by the Christiana Mall. This Macy's is part of the Christiana Mall. There's plenty of parking, the mall prking lot is pretty large. First off I enjoyed shopping here! There was a huge sale going on. It was October so part of it was getting the Summer stuff out on sale and the Fall stuff was all out too. They had huge discounts going on anywhere from 50 - 60% off. Prices were great here in womens clothing. This Macy's is one of the better stocked and better organized ones I have been to. There was a wide selection of brands and items to choose from. The employees were friendly. I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I was in here browsing around to see if there was anything I would like for me or my daughter but sadly nothing really stuck out. This place has a clean and organized store with a lot of brands and varieties to choose from. This wuold be a great place to look for a gift for someone or even for yourself. If I am ever in Delaware again I will make it a point to come back here. read more

Horrible website and customer service. Ordered online off bridal registry. Website said the item would be delivered on May 14 to the brides address. I called customer service and they said the item is actually going to be delivered on May 22- ( that's after the bridal shower)! And if I wanted on the 14th I had to paid $15 extra. I asked for a manager and was told none were available but when the call was over I would be transferred to a manager and could leave a message. Needless to say I was never transferred. And the guy could barely speak English!?!? Macys do better! read more

Wen to.make a men's fragrance purchase and the associate pass me a fragrance sample card and walks off. Poor customer service. I went to cosmetics and asked to speak with a manager and the associate called a manager on the radio and then after the associate made contract with the manager she wanted to know what I needed. Wow, Macy's has really changed and not for the better. I used to love shopping here. Now it's a shambles and has the vibe of an off-price retailer. Clothes were strewn about, everything was a mess. Even the floors were a disgrace and the down escalator didn't work. The only positive was the few good deals we found Backstage, but that place was an even bigger mess than the rest of the store. This is a good location to shop compared to the crowded house in NYC. The sale associates were very nice and helpful. I found what I was looking for easily with their helps. I also ordered a pair of pants to delivered to home in NY and it arrived in 3 days! That was fast! Good job Macy's! The prices were so affordable! I went to the men's fragrance counter to pick a birthday gift for a friend and when I say THE SERVICE I received from Sharon was impeccable I mean it was amazing! Unsure as to which fragrance I wanted. She went above and beyond to make sure I would be satisfied with what I brought. Nowadays the shopping experiences are just so BLAH most of the sales representatives are so cold and semi-rude. She was a breath of fresh air and Macy's should be proud to have her represent their company. The one benefit about waiting a little while to complete your review is watching to see how things unfold. The day I visited this Macy's which was 12 days ago, it was the most bitter sweet visit ever. I went in and fell in love with a sweater that they could not locate my size in although their system showed there were least 10. I waited 40 minutes for the young ladies... yes ladies, there were 2 looking for me to locate the sweater all around the store in different stockrooms and they weren't able to locate them. They eventually offered to order it online for me and have it delivered to my house w free shipping and even gave me a coupon to use on that order for the inconvenience. I was so happy when I left know that I would receive my sweater, especially since I was visiting from out of town. 10 days later wrong sweater shipped, sold out online and in stores! Sadly things happened to get worse from here! I know you're wondering how, let me share. I called customer service the very next day after receiving does God-awful sweater I did not order although it was the right brand and I spoke to a very young very nice young lady (Ana) who assisted me for about 40 minutes with looking for the sweater & settling the conflict to see where the problem began to fix it. Everything appeared to be moving forward until she requested to put me on hold and told me it may be a while because she was calling around other stores to locate sweater for shipment. She never return back, some guy appeared on phone line then he then put some lady on the phone from Manhattan, NY Macy's. I asked her about my sweater and she took my name and number down to call back. I received a call back roughly 7 hours later to hear they didn't have my sweater. The young lady (Ana) that was initially assisting me who left me hanging never came back to the phone to finish assisting me and never called me back and has been 2 days! I really wanna call them back and see if they can find this sweater but I'm so fed up with bad customer service that I can't bring myself to do it! Needed to use up $200 in gift cards and Macy's was having a big sale so I went to this location instead of King of Prussia. It was a mistake. While this location is still better stocked than some other Macy's, it wasn't adequately staffed on the floor to deal with the weekend customer volume. There wasn't an attendant at either men's fitting room and they were a mess with clothes/pins/cardboard/plastic scattered everywhere. The worst part was that I found a small kid (maybe 7-8) going through my jacket coat pockets when I came back from trying to get a few additional pairs of pants to try on. I'm not sure if the kid was really trying to steal anything but he immediately took off. I learned a learn time ago from working in retail you NEVER, EVER leave anything of value unattended in a dressing room even for 30 seconds-1 minute. I was fortunate today I didn't including my wallet or IPhone. Even by 1 PM today, the store was pretty messy and it was obvious that the floor hadn't been restocked & reordered the night before. They also had a low inventory on belts and a number of designer dress and business shirts in more common sizes. The staff at the register and the floor were friendly enough but there is no reason I would come back to this Macy's store instead of simply going to the King of Prussia store which is closer to me anyways. read more

Disappointed! We stopped here on a trip through DE. We do not live close. I was looking for a dress for a special event. No salesperson to help. Dresses seemed scattered. No organization to the system. Sizes hard to fine. Clothing hung where it should not be hung. I chose a dress that I pulled from a sale rack. The checkout person insisted it was not on sale and was placed on the wrong rack. Although a store -created tag on the dress clearly said curr tkt price $79.00 she still charged me $168.00. I went there to buy dressing shoes on Monday 04/22, and received the worse costumer service ever in the US. I had to give a talk in the afternoon at a local university, and had lost my dressing shoes, so I had to get one pair with urgency. I went to the dressing shoes section, where I ask the salesperson, Barry, for a pair of my foot size. After trying them for 10 minutes, I decided that they did not match the style of my clothes. So, I selected another pair of shoes and asked Barry for that pair of my foot size. Barry asked me to wait until he finishes with other two costumers. It was a little weird for me that he asked me to wait because those costumers came after I had already kindly asked him for the second pair of shoes. After these two costumers left, Barry told me: "Let me give you a little advice. When I young person like you ask me for a pair of shoes, I believe they are making me waste my time". He kept ongoing using some vulgar expressions that I am not going to reproduce in this message. I am a 29-year old Latino, and I felt deeply offended by those comments. I communicate to Barry that what he told me was very offensive and even racist. He did not apologize, and unfortunately, I did not have the time to talk to the manager because it was getting late for my meetings in the afternoon. After I communicated to him how I felt about his comments, he changed his attitude and brought me the pair of shoes of my size. I bought them as soon as I could, and exit the store rapidly. I hope that Macy's salespeople can be better trained so that they do not stereotype and offend people. I also hope that other costumers do not face this bitter moment. read more

First time I came here was back in 2013. This store is just as big as the one in Cherry Hill and King of Prussia. Lots of sales always going on, friendly staff, not too far from South Jersey. This store has much more than the one in Deptford. No complaints just good quality service. read more

This review is strictly for the bedding department. They carried most of the same items listed on the Macy's website. The selection was a little picked over, but we also didn't ask what they had in the back, despite the fact that the sweet ladies who worked the department kept asking us if we needed help. They weren't overly intrusive; we were just overly indecisive. They were seriously the nicest people ever. We even got hooked up with a 25% off discount for giving a $3 donation to military families. We ended up with two bed-in-a-bag sets for $90, instead of $320 MSRP. We didn't pay any taxes either. Christiana Macy's bedding for the win! read more

I went here to shop for a gift for a friend and I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. As a little bit of background, I wanted a particular bracelet I found online but it was unable to do in store pickup. Because Macy's shipping prices are insane, I decided to try my luck in the actual store as the site stated that a sample bracelet was on display so I figured that I would be able to find it. Once I located the jewelry section, I asked one of the sales people working there where I could find it. The particular bracelet I had wasn't available but she mentioned that they may have some others not located on the floor. So, she pulled out another stack of bracelets and patiently waited and assisted me with combing through the bracelets as a lot of them were very similar looking. I didn't end up buying the particular bracelet I wanted as it was very worn looking (hence, it probably was the sample and had been handled a lot) but I did get a similar one I was happy with. I was super impressive by the sales person and how helpful and patient she was. It honestly felt like concierge service. Plus, the store is in DE, no sales tax! Yay! No matter the brand I'm working on, the sales associates in that department are always amazing. Bill Kaye, in the Men's Suit department is an awesome guy to work with. Lori was very friendly and also energetic too. We didn't even have to wait at the register or in line for along time because she worked at a fast pace. She was quicker than the other workers. I was recently clothes shopping in the men's department at Macy's in Christiana Mall. I was carrying several selections when a sales clerk, Francine, approached and offered to hold the items at the checkout until I was done shopping so I wouldn't have to carry them. I selected several more pieces, and Francine began to ring up my purchases. When she found I didn't have a Macy's card or any coupons, she located a coupon so I could receive a discount. There was an issue I had with a return from my bridal registry. Upset an thinking I wouldn't receive credit for the gifts I was given and so stressed with all the details of the wedding. The manager Lynn was super helpful. She made me feel very valued as a customer. Explained that everything would work out and Macy will surely take care of thing. When there is no tag on the merchandise isn't it the salesperson's responsibility to know the price of their merchandise, find a tag, or run to get an identical Item. Macy's Christiana Mall has really gone downhill. I don't even enjoy going in there any longer. Once they opened Nordstrom's, Macy's became dead to me. On the occasion that I do go in there, the store is a total mess! I can never find anything in there for all of the clutter. It's just disorganized and dirty, it reminds me of the old Wilmington Dry Goods, where you would have to sift through the bins to get your clothing items. This macys is special because of the staff. First Tim and Janel in shoes. Shoes also has Shawn, Peggy, Ray. They work crazy during sales but always smile. Keith in men's shoes very helpful. We sat on the floor and went through every display yesterday Christmas Eve until we found slippers in the style and size I needed for my dad. Leigh in lingerie works well with me. Carol with all her years of service buttons in ladies is so sweet. Kathy in the same area too. They list goes on. This store has good selection but not king of Prussia. Too often I have to go there for the best designer selection. This store though has the BEST MACYS STAFF and no sales tax. Win win if you ask me. The people mentioned are my go to staff and will help you. When I need something they smile and get it done. This is my second fave macys due to selection. For the last 5 years I have been pointing out to management that they are in contravention of the Delaware Disability Act for not having their doors equipped with Wheelchair accessibility. Our last conversation with a newly appointed lady manager was three months ago when we were promised to have a remedy done without further delay. We have contacted the Delaware Department of Human Recourses and are now in the process of asking the ADA department to litigate once and for all. I hate to even give one star. After going around the automated loop like 8 times since I had no idea what the department I needed was called, I finally get someone who answered the phone to tell me it was called impulse... fine, she connects me. She connected me to impulse beauty instead of clothing...there goes another 10 minutes of my life I won't get back. Finally she transfers me to impulse clothing and a lady picks up....I ask her if she carries....cut me off and said she had to put me on hold....my blood is starting to boil now. I'm on hold, it rings back because I was holding for so long...instead of saying anything, it picks up and puts me on hold again...waiting.... phone rings back again...same thing! I've got time....third time it rings back and finally a person asks if she could help me. So as I am trying to talk to her and get the information out of my mouth she is already not listening and talking over me. I had to repeat myself twice on everything....finally, because she's not listening she's giving me information on a jacket that again, because she's not listening to me and talking over me, she didn't hear me. She procedures to tell me about a jacket with cloth and it's retail is $351.00. If she bothered to listen she would have heard me say, it retails at $500. Needless to say she had to ask me twice what size I was looking for...... ugh...got her name and you can be sure I'll be writing a letter. I kept asking her if she was looking at the stock as I had described it to her.... she insisted she only had pleather and she was only looking at her computer. She says, well if you had the numbers etc.... yeah, I get that but I was with my daughter and it would have been pretty obvious if I was getting numbers! I described it and it would have been nice if she moved her butt over and looked at the floor and been just a tad bit nicer about it. Some people should not be in customer service! read more
