I looked at Big Lots near me and this location had the item in stock and for Curbside pickup. However, I ended up having to go inside, because the next day I caught another/better deal that was worth obtaining. I was a day late for picking up the item, but don't judge me...Judge Big Lots amazing discounts! Anyways, right when I pulled up to the store I noticed a Big Lots Crew Member helping someone to their car with the biggest smile on their face. I knew at that moment I was going to have a great experience. I walked and was greeted instantly by the cashier (who was helping another customer). Now if anyone knows me--great Customer Service will have me come back to an establishment and spend my hard earned coin (Okay)! So at this point, I asked to be pointed in the direction to Curbside Pickup and was quickly introduced to Twaine who helped me from there. First lemme just say I love biglots in general. This was our first time at this location since moving near by and the store was clean and organized. They even have a frozen food section. They have loads of seasonal items and great stuff for great prices. Sometimes you can even find a deal so good it's a sin NOT to buy. The cashier/manager was very nice and personable and informed us about the buzz club rewards and a coupon if we sign up. we were in a bit of a hurry but will definitely be returnong patrons to this location. read more

Also written into their customer support on the website: I want someone to explain to me how the Wilmington, DE store screwed up my online order so badly. The website said it had 7 ornament organizers in stock. I placed the order. I waited for an email that said the order was ready for pick up and my partner waited at the store for almost an hour for them to "not have received" the online order and then try to shove the incorrect sterilite ornament case in his hands and then when they finally admitted they didn't have the right one that the order was placed for, tried to reimburse him for the cheaper item. It shows a complete incompetence of the store employees, the online ordering and store pick up system. This is a profound reason why the masses prefer to shop elsewhere. I require a follow-up for what occurred here tonight that was a massive waste of my energy and my time. read more

Prepare yourself this was a doozie! I just left BigLots Wholesaler on Governor Printz Blv. in Wilmington, De (8-23-2020). I normally don't shop here but because of Covid and my work schedule they are the only place open a little late since Bj's is further and they would be closed before I could get there. My first visit I went for storage and hygiene products, but ended up pricing some living room furniture and a small bunk bed and mattresses for my guest room. I was told the items were available for delivery. I drive a Yukon XL and my God brother drives a F250 so we were going to move the furniture ourselves. Today was my second visit I saw somethings I really liked before and picked them up. I notice in every aisle I turned down I saw an associate. Being who I am and working as a Assistant store manager for a children's retailer I thought "it's late they are probably just cleaning before the store closes". Then as I am walking towards the cash wrap to check out, a employee stops me and asked if I was finding everything I was looking for, I looked up too answer And as I was about too ask about the furniture I wanted to buy but I noticed I was literally surrounded by every employee in the store! They escorted myself and our kids to the front of the store, then they all stand there staring at us while we check out! At this point I know what's going on. Standing there I could feel the judgment in the way they looked at us, a Black family of 7. My pride wanted to have me leave the items in my cart and walk away. I couldn't though because I had to use this moment to teach our children a lesson, and them too. I stood there brought my items for a total of $350.00 (15% of which was supposed to be discounted and wasn't). Then reminded the associate who helped me find the furniture initially, who I was. And also let everyone standing there who thought the only way we would be getting the 4 carts of items was by stealing them know that my bill could have been over 2,000 dollars if myself and most importantly my children weren't made too feel targeted and uncomfortable.The look on the managers face was priceless! Moral of the story? It doesn't matter how you conduct yourself, unconscious bias is still thriving!
