July 4 1130 am. I want to buy a watchband. 3 clerks in the jewelry department are filling out paperwork, their backs to the sales counter. Tensions are evident already, and fnally one snaps to another "you have a customer". Upon asking if she can put the new band on my existing watch, she immediately declines. They aren't equipped with any tool for that. I am disappointed, and tell her 'no sale", since I don't have a tool like that at home either. She turns abruptly to go back to her paperwork, and replies "no problem" with a dismissive tone. There wasn't even the pretense of courtesy here, and I clearly got the message that customers are an interruption of their work, rather than the reason the store exists in the first place. read more

Yes, I posted yesterday, great service. Reasonable cost.. Only 1 issue.. when are you going to get 40- 46 waist size in jeans.. there are old farts as myself by old age. Our waist sizes do get rounder.. roflmao.. I see skinny 32-36 waist sizes for younger more active men. This comment has no reflection on the store or its staff. Yesterday, Wayne & I had a lot of errands. The last on the list was to go to @Boscov's for some accessories for my son's upcoming wedding. Entering the store, 1st I wanted to speak to an associate about having a brand new smartwatch I have still in box at home. Wanting to see if I could bring it in & pay them to set up the watch. [Not wearing it for wedding] The watch area, nobody was there. A few feet from the watch dept. Is fine jewelry. Seeing & hearing, that associate having a personal conversation with a women. Note, nothing to do with a purchase. I waited and waited. Finally, I said, excuse me, is anyone working the watch counter? Wayne, was hurting, & I still needed to shop for items for the wedding. All of our local fine jewelry stores are gone. They handled repair as well. The associate's response, yes, she out there some where, GO FIND HER. With disbelief, I asked, could she please page the attendant, ... No, go find her, & she went back to her personal discussion. Turning her back to me. Stunned, I left. Passing, the Estee Lauder counter I was stunned to see. After being told in 2016 by the store manager. They WOULD NOT be selling Estee Lauder Christmas gift sets ever again. Walking around the counter. There were stacks of these kits for sale. [I took the time to take pictures of all the kits displayed.] Being a V.I.P. customer at that counter. They keep contacts cards of customers needs & call the customer. Again, no associate at the counter. I took the extra time, and found her. With all smiles, I asked to see my card. I had not been called for 3 years! She looked, no card. I left so confused & started shopping. Within a few minutes the associate came looking for me. Smiling, she found my card. And, showed me how it was highlighted VIP. Every year since the store opened in Christina, myself, family & friends purchased these kits. They sell for over a $100.00 each. Many, many times each year we purchased a lot of kits. Having an awful experience in 2016. And, the outcome was horrible. Again, I was told by that manager of the entire store, no longer would they be selling these kits. They had sold out of the holiday kits, & I was never called in 2016. I had NOT received a call since. Normally, a few times a year they would call to let me know of an upcoming sale or that the kits were in. They only get one delivery of the holiday kits. The attendant had my card, it explained & shows the date of the calls each time. Highlighting that I was a V.I.P.. The attendant & I both noticed, nobody had called since 2016. For 3 years, we had to go to another store or purchase on line. I like to spend money in our community, not on line. I asked, have you been selling since 2016 these kits. Yes, was her response, & she apologized that nobody had contacted me. At that point, I just wanted to walk out. Knowing, Wayne needed to sit down. Wayne has to have upcoming knee surgery & his knee wanted to come out from under him. He had already chosen his shirt & tie. Both in our cart. I had to still shop for myself. Rehearsal was this Sunday. I had to still buy a few things. Sadden by the 1st two experiences upon entering the store. And, noticing the store hardly had any customers. I knew my feelings had to go on the back burner & find Wayne a place to sit & continue shopping. I inadvertently met a very nice women combing the racks. Not knowing, she was the merchandiser for womens fine clothes & was about to leave the store. She took the time to help me. [No name tag] I actually changed my mine on what I was originally going to wear to the wedding at home. And, she found this beautiful 2 piece outfit. Wayne now sitting on a display recliner across from me. I thought, why not try them on. When, I came out of the dressing room. Which is located next to a cashiers counter. Both the customer & associate stopped & commented that my outfit was gorgeous!!! I decided not to bother Wayne. Changed & now needing another pair of shoes to wear as well. Spending more money $$$$ than orginally planned. I gathered up Wayne & we headed for the shoe department. Wayne located the perfect shoe to match my outfit in cart. Trying them on, I made the purchase. The shoe area did not have the bags for dresses. So, now to another register and wait to be rung up. By this time, poor Wayne was ready to collapse. You could see his pain on his face, & his bodly language told me, not to stop to look for earrings. Truthfully, if it had not been for the associate assisting me in fine dresses. I would of just walked out & never, ever return to this store. Question, what happened to Customer Service? Don't these department stores know they are competing with on-line purchases? Many stores in our area are closed. Due to competition on-line. You would think, they need there jobs! Would you had stayed & still spent $$$ ? Not a mid range department store. Seems to be some good prices. Quality of products do vary. I try to stick with the brands I know. Sales seem to be weekly which is nice. They have sale coupons in every Sunday News Journal. i buy lots of socks and underwear there for cheap. Tried to buy shoes there once but finding help can be difficult. Store is clean and well lit. Restroom are clean. read more

It's a department store! What good is a department store any more nowadays, other than a repository for merchandise that is two or three generations out of date? Plus, you're not really getting the best values here. Sure, they have store specials that take prices down to within striking distance of Target or Walmart, but the rest of the goods aren't bargains. On the plus side, I thought service wasn't bad. The store salespeople are helpful in guiding you towards the items you seek. Checkout, on the other hand, is glacially slow if the line is more than one or two deep. read more

Nadia in jewelry just made my trip with my little girls more special than I realized. I'm probably over thinking it but I remember going to Macy's as a young girl and it seemed like de ja vue. She was very helpful to us picking out something pretty yet trendy for them. But what made it magical was she took the time and engaged with them, asked if it was for them and did they want to wear it now. Of course, they said yes and she helped them put it on and adjusted the fit. As I stared into the sparkling eyes of my youngest, she was just so excited to be next and be jeweled. That look is what I remember... the excitement of being a girl, feeling fabulous with something new and shiny! It's superficial- yes but it doesn't hurt feeling pretty every once in a while. read more

It's nice to know there are still a department store that has value in shopping. This location even has a candy counter.

This is not a review of the store itself just its location, which is a seeming island of retail space in an historic village that has been spoiled by this development and other errant construction. Why? The traffic layout and subsequent congestion are such a shame for the beauty of what once was the beautiful town of Christiana. They have been doing road construction for literally decades at the interchange of I-95, Route 273 and other roadways around Christiana Mall, not far from the medical center of Christina Hospital, a nationally renowned provider of health care. My hope is that the roadways can be organized logically and provide some semblance of normalcy to a once quaint, rustic town. read more

This is a great department store. Not huge. Not expensive. But a great get-almost-anything you want. Some good brands of clothing. Great sleepwear and underwear. Even a fresh chocolate area. I like the linen area and there are lots of sales on good things. Staff is great. Some have been with the store for a long time. They are very helpful. I really prefer running into this store to grab my Clinique or ?? Than going to the mall, fighting for parking and trying to get the attention of a 20 yr old. read more

The cashier was very rude. I had a coupon on my phone from Boscov's it even said in store coupon on it she would not except the coupon and was not helpful at all or apologetic. I ended up not purchasing anything at this store I will not return. read more

I will keep this short. I needed measurements for a wedding, and my story finds me at Boscov's because that was where a friend had said I could be measured. The male suitor was not in store, but I was very lucky meet Carol, the young men's section manager. She was cheerful, helpful, understanding, and fluid with her time. While she could have sent me to another store, she said she would help me with my measurements and even rotated multiple outfits to test the results. She was helping other customers try shoes and locate items while assisting me, too. Thank you, Carol! I appreciate your time more than you know! read more

Omg getting ready to go to a wedding and the jacket I bought at boscov's still had the plastic anti-thief device attached to it. Have to wait for store to open for them to remove it. The wedding is over an hour away I hope we make it. read more

I have never had a problem ordering mattresses from Boscovs so we decided to try ordering furniture. We had bought a $5 Friends Helping Friends coupon and were assured it would provide 25% savings throughout the store on a particular day and 10% in furniture department. We found a sofa and loveseat that we placed an order for. I think it was a Broyhill. We ordered the fabric for sofas and pillows. They said probably won't be in till around holidays. We were fine with that. We called after holidays and were told it would be another week or so. We called another week or so later and were told it had shipped and we can expect a call any day. We never got a call. so we cancelled the order. All this while we were paying for it! (I had no idea we were paying). I can't explain that since my husband pays bills but he was paying it! read more
