I stop by Nordstrom for the two s's: shoes and skincare. While I always stop to drool over the high end shoe offerings, their "normal" priced stuff can be a bit hit or miss. Maybe my taste in shoes runs a bit conservative though? Not like loafer or support shoes conservative, just not trippy-bright-pink-leopard-print Danskos if you know what I mean. The funny thing about Clinique is they are also in Macy's, but I tend to head to Nordstrom out of sheer convenience. I've noticed over the years their counter service has improved. Back in the day, you could walk up to the counter and stand there for ages (even after hunting around all the cosmetics counters) before someone would appear to help you. Actually, their service may be too efficient now...last month I stopped in to buy some sunscreen and got added to some kind of special gifts list. Twice within three days someone called me to get a pre-charge set up, and they ended up charging me twice. Sigh. Today I had the absolute worst customer service I have ever had. Nordstrom is suppose you be known for its customer service. But the MIC Makenna was rude and could care less about a customer. The workers all sat around the return and exchange section clueless and talked about my situation as of I wasn't there. I felt uncomfortable, embarrassed, and most definitely unwelcome. I left the store realizing why I never go to this location. Walking away feeling ignored and a joke is a terrible feeling. I hope you do not make all clients feel this way. That's what manufacturers pay. So when you go to Nordstrom's and pay around $100 for a 500 count flat sheet, just imagine the profit involved . . . That said, I love the customer service at Nordstom's. I recently needed some special order shoes and Ed in the men's shoe dept at the Cherry Creek store (who's been selling shoes at Nordstrom's for 17 years, he tells me!) performed some selling miracles and got me what I needed at a moment's notice. So that's 5 stars for customer service and 1 star for price to value ratio = a solid 3 stars and a recommendation to see them when you need someone to do something special for you about a consumer dept store product! read more

This Nordstrom is located at the Cherry Creek Mall. From Sept 16-20 was a special triple points promotion that card holders can take advantage of to earn more points towards Nordstrom Notes. And so while I was on vacation in Denver, I made sure to stop by this location to browse and shop. Although there are no special sales during this special promotion, there are some designer clearance in the clothing and handbag section, which I had browsed through. As soon as I had entered the handbag section on the 1st floor, a young female employee (unfortunately I did not get her name, but she wore a hat, is rather tall and is blonde) greeted me. Then as I walked further into the handbag section towards the higher end bags (Proenza Schouler, Chloe, Saint Laurent and Burberry is sold here), I was immediately greeted by Angelica. She was very friendly and helpful in showing me some of the bags, specifically the Proenza Schouler bags. She did give me her honest opinion of them, which I really appreciated. She was a very warm and friendly person, whom made me feel as if we were just old friends catching up. For her customer service, this alone I would give 5 stars. Also the other employee whom I did not get her name, she also walked over and spoke with me while I was speaking with Angelica. She was also quite warm and friendly as well. Nordstrom in general is known for tip top customer service and that is exactly what I received upon this visit and would come back here again if I ever come back to visit Denver. read more

Nordstrom is where it's at! Let me tell you, after wandering around the mall looking for a few specific items, we finally decided to check out Nordstrom and hit the jackpot! We had a great experience at the jewelry counter. The lady helping us was very friendly and attentive. She gave recommendations from different brands and for that I was so grateful because the selection is severely limited when you are just looking in one case (and when you're as picky as I am about dainty jewelry ONLY). At other jewelry stores we felt pressured to look at one specific collection and didn't feel free to look around (probably because they didn't want to lose the sale/have us leave the store). Will return here in the future to do more shopping because they have a great selection of clothes and shoes as well. read more

I have always had a phenomenal customer service experience at Nordstrom's across the US, but this location is heavily lacking at that. I was looking for a steel gua-sha throughout the mall and a lovely Sephora employee had pointed me to Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom for another option as they had none in stock. After walking through the cosmetics department at about 5pm, I was asked by an older woman with blonde hair at the Clarins counter and a younger man with long dark hair and large hoop earrings if I needed help finding anything. After explaining what I was looking for they both got wide eyed like they were surprised a younger man knew what he was talking about. She immediately pointed me to a Clarins version of what I was looking for and started firstly with the price being $60, again in an extremely condescending tone like she thought I couldn't afford it. After letting her do her elevator pitch of the product, I realized she had absolutely no idea what she was talking about and continued with the smart, rude tone towards me. I was dressed in business casual clothing and holding multiple shopping bags from other stores, so I have no idea why she was acting in such a way towards me. I'm aware that they are commission based but I cannot comprehend how someone of this lady's nature would be able to survive in such a role. I will take my business to Neiman Marcus, Sephora, or Blue Mercury from now on as I refuse to be treated in this manner by such a "high end" store. Your customer service needs to match your prices! I love Nordstrom and buy most of our stuff there but this will be the last time I go to the Cherry Creek location. I came in to buy new ugg boots, check out the kids section sale, and possibly get some new maternity clothes but was let down when a young employee looked at me with a smirk and told me to check the Nordstrom in the burbs. It was so unkind that I left the store without buying anything. A simple explanation that this particular store didn't have a maternity section would have sufficed but instead I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. I know Cherry Creek is a higher end mall and sometimes snooty but come on! You're essentially shoving money out the door and begging me to cancel my Nordstrom card. You are a pair to randomly choose the address you want to send something to. Tonight I have spent time on the phone with one agent that disconnected me and a second that told me that I can get a refund and then re-order the products. I went to Nordstrom Cherry Creek to do some shopping for a wedding I am attending, I was hoping to pull together a whole outfit but left in tears instead. I'm not the type of person to wear designer clothing, I carry a wallet and not a fancy purse, but I do have money which the petite, brunette, white saleswoman who was following me through the store clearly didn't know. I was walking around for a bit, found a dress I liked and continued looking while holding the dress and a few other pieces. There was another woman (wearing head to toe designer clothing with the brands plastered on her person) walking around the area I was looking in, picking up things to try on which were promptly taken to a dressing room by said saleswoman, and yet the saleswoman, never approached me to ask if I needed anything, nor if I needed a dressing room. At one point I said to her, standing maybe 5 feet away, "Hi, can you help me" and didn't finish my sentence before she walked away, I thought she didn't hear me and continued shopping. Finally I was ready to try on the pieces I picked out (I was getting hot at this point as I was carrying an arm full of clothing), the other shopper was still near me, when the saleswoman approached her (again) and asked if she needed anything, the woman turned to the saleswoman and said (pointing to me) "I don't, but you may want to help that woman over there"...the saleswoman looked at me, looked me up and down, AND WALKED AWAY. The other shopper looked at me and said "I tried". At this point it was glaringly obvious to the both of us what was happening- profiling because of my casual clothing, without the labels, and I'm white, I can't imagine what I would have experienced if I was a person of color. That saleswoman is despicable and cruel. I put all the clothing back on the racks (because I am a good human) and walked out in tears. It has been a few months, and I have sat on it, but I couldn't anymore and decided to leave a review. I will never shop at Nordstrom again. I also need to note that before I became successful (I hate saying I'm rich, because I'm modest, but eff it, I am rich now) I was a broke (poor) college student who worked at another Nordstrom's Ebar. Visited this location yesterday and had a horrible customer service experience. I waited for a while at the register line to check out which is fine I understand places are understaffed and busy. I've worked in retail before and am not bothered by having to wait. When the employee stepped up to the register she seemed annoyed by the fitting room situation. She carried over her annoyed demeanor the whole time she was ringing me up. Not really speaking to me at all. When I tried to use my gift card she wasn't able to use it and said it wasn't working. She asked if I'd already used it and I said no which she should've know after scratching off the access code. She seemed really frustrated and annoyed. I thought that maybe something was wrong with the gift card but then I was able to use it for an online shopping purchase today. This isn't the first time I've had a bad customer service at this store. I visit this location frequently and have had maybe one good customer service experience in the last 6 years. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority. You can never find an employee when looking for a fitting room and are rarely asked if you need help. read more

He misread the sign and asked an associate in the men's shoes section if the sales price was half off or if that was the finally price. The associate got snippy and replied with "That's not what the sign says does it? It's the half yearly sale because we have it twice a year." For real dude, that's not customer service. However, the one at Cherry Creek is so big and plum full of merchandise -compared to mine at home. As always, the staff at Nordstrom are trained to be amazing in every way. Pleasant, polite, professional, and perfect. (alliteration, guys). Always with a smile and always happy to help, they are. We did a little bit of light shopping ( some new T's and some fragrance) and left happy. You know those ex's that you want to be nice to, but they just constantly nag you, blowing up your phone? Then when you don't text back they send you a Facebook message? Then an Instagram message? Then sub-tweets on Twitter? Then more texts? Y'all, that's sort of what these sales folks are like. You say no thanks, you're fine browsing the racks yourself (you're an independent shopper after all!) and you've got enough wits to ask for help when you need it, but - wait for it - approximately 2 seconds later, another sales associate will approach, ask you the same question, and you'll respond the same way. You walk 2 steps, and then another associate. 2 more steps, and 2 more interactions with two more associates. Finally, you hide between the racks, trying to calm your anxiety, only to have another associate pop their head between the clothing and ask if you're still finding everything ok...the nightmare never ends. It's probably the plot to the next Stephen King novel. It's been a while since I've physically shopped at Nordstrom as I usually do most of my shopping with them online, but this time I needed to help a friend with a few outfits so we decided to head in. Never again. If we need something quickly and we don't have time to order online, I'll be sure to go to a different store all together. Or seek a Xanax prescription, one of the two. read more

Oh boy, I cannot believe I am doing this to my beloved Nordstrom. But after my recent experience, I might be shopping at the website from now on, or at least when I'm in the Denver Metro. Here I am, looking for a 38 length dress shirt (yes, huge, I know) and I expect the usual great customer service. However, what I did not count on was the guy who was helping me out had a "big money" client in the dressing room buying a $1K suit. So much for me and my $65 purchase. I was cast aside like a pair of stonewash jeans. However, unlike those stonewash jeans, I don't think I should have gone out of style so quickly. So, I end up walking out without a shirt wondering if the stallwart customer service giant had just lost some of it's cache? Cherry Creek is famously snooty, but I expected more from my beloved Nordstrom. They may have not lost my business, but they certainly have lost some of my respect. read more

Anyway - this review only pertains to the Nordstrom's shoe department at Cherry Creek Mall... Decent selection - though it doesn't hold a candle to the Park Meadows store's selection. The same policy applies (if they don't have the size you need, they'll find it and ship it to you for free), but it seems like they just go through the motions here. Not sure what's going on, but customer service has really gone down hill in the women's clothing department. On my last 2 visits no one offered me assistance which is really abnormal. And on both visits employees were standing right there by the registers complaining about working and their coworkers pretty loudly. As a Nordie's shopper this makes me wonder if something greater is going on with the company that their employees are standing around complaining when they used to be so helpful. I've been to Nordstrom quite a bit, especially over the holiday season. I defiantly feel the level of service is pretty hit or miss, mostly a miss. A few days before Christmas I bought a dress for my sister. After walking around the mall I realized that I should ship the dress to her via the store to prevent a trip to the post office. I came back to the counter and the sales associate was not present. I waited and no one came, probably for 3-5 mins. I left to the next counter and asked the ship the dress. The women told me it was $10. I thought, ok, but I don't need it my Christmas so the regular ship date was fine. I wouldn't have a problem other than the dress was $300+. She then had to call the store manager, who wasn't available, to get the $10 fee waved. After about 15 mins, she called another associate who told me they were unable to do that here. They in turn had to return the dress I bought and then order the same dress from another store to receive free shipping. Overall I was bummed mostly about the time, overall about 30 mins to deal with a problem that could have been taken care of in 10min or less. Visit recently. I bought a pair of designer jeans last May and they had 2 holes. I thought, well for the price $200 and the brand I've never had a problem. I took my jeans back and explained the problem to the associate. She gave me a little attitude asking if I dry the jeans in the dryer. Well yes, I do. It says on the tag to low dry them. I asked if I could receive a new pair or money back. She pretty much told me that it was my fault for drying the jeans and that she would make an exception this time only. Point and case, I guess jeans aren't suppose to go in the dryer (even though the tag says it's ok). Overall, just plain attitude from the associate. After these 2 encounters, I'd have to say I'll strictly be an online shopper if that with this company. read more

I will preface this review by stating that I am no fan of the mall, let alone the dreaded Department store. It is just not how I roll. "Hello there, how can I help you today ?!?" Just the mention of such a get up sends shivers down her spine and to be quite honest after all these years I would be less surprised to see my brother in a dress than Jessie. Sorry bro. Did I mention the outfit was for a wedding she will be standing up in? Yea it is, this makes finding something that suits everyone tricky at best. We have our work cut out for us ... but wait we now have help! Oh happy day!!! We were looking at some black dress pants ( boys section) and I also inquired whether a white dress shirt was available in ivory. Meredith , the adorable blond who was helping was off like a shot to inquire about just this. She also followed us to a dressing room and mentioned she also had some nice black slacks in the girls section ...what a novel idea to us, clothes intended for a girl on my daughter, who happens to be a girl ??? OK, we will give it a shot! Jessie put on these " girl pants" and low and behold ...she LOVED them !!!! She also looked GREAT in them !!!! I was pleased as punch, so was she, and her sister too as this meant we could soon start looking for fancy shoes for her. Sisters ....you know how it goes. As it turned out the shirt is NOT available in ivory but it was not for lack of looking on Meredith's part. So with our new spiffy pants we were off to continue our quest. She was respectful and appropriately emotional at seeing my bare chest. She showed me the prettiest bras she could find and gave me paperwork to file with my insurance company. I've been shopping at Nordstroms since I was a baby (the sale girls used to put things aside they thought my mom would like, we shopped there so much). But I will never go to the Cherry Creek Nordstroms (the drive to Flat Irons is worth it). I've been four times and each time I am shocked at their poor service. Nordstroms is known for their customer service across the country but when I tell someone I've had a poor experience they know exactly which location I'm talking about. Once I waited for 30 mins to get someone to help me with shoes so I gave up. I once made a crack on my cell phone about why the plus size clothes have to be so damn ugly and the sales girl, who was the only person within 100 yards to hear my comment, suggested I shop else where. Twice now I've had issues in the lingerie department. I like a specific type of panties that I'm willing to pay the crazy prices for. The problem is that while Nordstrom has been making them for 20 years, I can rarely find the color and size I want. Once a sales person was very insistent that I simply get a different size or a different style all together. Really? Why not suggest we order them instead? She refused to help me go through the drawers to find the pairs that the system said were hiding somewhere. This week I went back, I found two pairs and then asked if there were more. The sales girl went in the back and when she reappeared went to talk to someone else rather than producing the pairs she had found. She then kept insisting the new pairs were the same as the ones in my hand even though you could clearly tell they were twice the amount of fabric. I love Nordstrom but will never go back to the Cherry Creek location. read more

I took my 6 year old son here to get an outfit suitable for my brother's wedding. The salesgirls in the boys department are stellar. Not only did they go through all the sizing for shirts for his age, they held a mini-tie tying seminar and showed him how to tie his own necktie. Cutest thing ever. His attention span being very short, they were attentive and very accomodating. Best money ever spent. Now on to shoes and jewelry...my God! it should be illegal the fabulous shoes. Nordstorm is simply the greatest, and the Cherry Creek location is one of the best. Nordstrom is famous for their customer service, and this location does not disappoint. In fact, I had a pair of jeans (with tag still on) that they accepted for a return TEN YEARS LATER. Who else does that? I appreciate how versatile their selection is of women's clothing. Everything from activewear to formal wear and everything in between... I know I can come here for a work dress, wedding guest dress, or casual top to wear to happy hour. Their beauty and accessories departments are especially friendly and helpful. The only disappointment at this location (in my humble opinion) is the shoe department. I am a regular customer here and they are consistently slow to come around and offer help. I'm a lifelong Nordstrom customer, which comes down to quality products, hassle-free returns, and overall outstanding customer service. read more

Your mood suddenly uplifts when you come in this store. Nordstrom's is a great place to go try on expensive shoes I can't afford. Every employee in the shoe section is extremely attentive. You can look around and try on Manolo Blahniks and Jimmy Choos, walk around in them a bit, and then, in your haughtiest accent say, "Well, these are just darling, but I think I'll head over to Sak's first. I'm jetsetting to New York tomorrow, but these shoes just don't say, 'Private plane.'" Take off the shoes, and walk away with the employee just looking after you with their mouth hanging open. I've never done that exact scenario, but it would be fun. If you're a shoe slut but your economic style seems to be more Walmart, this is a great place to get out your shoe promiscuity. Or you know, you can actually buy shoes here too. I typically come in the doors by the children's section. The dresses in the girls' department are all sparkly and one-strapped or tube top or with a slit cut in the thigh. Since when did little girls start dressing better than me, an adult?!? When I was little and got dressed up, I had to wear dresses with pastel flowers and big fluffy bows. Since when does a 5-year-old need a cocktail dress? If you're intimidated by upscale department stores, this one should put you at ease. Not everything is expensive, and you can find some great things on sale. read more

Compared to other Nordstrom's across the country, this selection is only okay. Yes, it is large; however, I have been to many other Nordstrom's with a larger selection of menswear before. As far as suit selection, this place is much better then "Rack". They do have a large sale section with prices equivalent to their sister store "Rack" on Colorado Boulevard. They did have a few very nice suits, but they were in polyester. I hate polyester suits with a passion, and the selection here was very limited in regards to wool suits. This fact is the only reason for the three star review. Service is also okay. The employee in my section was super aggressive. He also kept trying to upsell..."Do you need cufflinks, etc". Of course if I ask for a French Cuff shirt I have cuff links, idiot. At the end of the day, I went to Hugo Boss for a better suit at the right price. read more

I love Nordstrom and it has always been my go to place. I however think that the Cherry Creek Nordstrom doesn't even deserve the name because it has no customer service ever. I spend a ton of money at Nordstrom but because of the service I received at the Cherry Creek store I order everything through a sales associate in Seattle. I grew up in Seattle so Nordstrom is pretty much our mecca of shopping and you always receive amazing service at those stores. I have loved and shopped with Nordstrom for many years but will never shop at the Nordstrom Cherry Creek store. My last experience was me trying to find something in the lingerie department and I was mid sentence talking to a sales women and she just walked away to help another customer even though there was another sales associate behind the counter that could of helped her. Every time I am on the second floor shopping everyone is behind the counter just chatting or walks right by you without saying hi. I probably shop the most in active or tbd and every time I am in those department no one ever says hi can I help you with anything or they have an attitude. I will say I never spend anytime on the first floor so this is purely speaking about the second floor. I do often I have worked in a different store and we always strived for the best customer service possible. The mentality in Seattle is so different then here but this stores need to strive to be better and truly want to represent the name of Nordstrom. I am not a big fan of department store but Nordstrom truly has the best customer service and that was why I wanted to work for the company growing up. Went in during the anniversary sale. Spent about an hour shopping (predominately in the Topp Shop area). My hands were clearly full, yet girls on staff kept walking by.... I finally went up to one of the girls and asked if she could help me start a fitting room to take some of the items off my hands... I continued shopping. I found the girl again and asked where my room was. She couldn't remember where she put my clothes... eventually she came and told me that apparently all of the clothes I had gathered were put back on the racks. It's evident that customer service is truly important to the company and it shows on a daily basis (no, I don't go daily, but you get my point). Beware of purchasing from the cosmetics department. I bought 8 oz sized bottles of Living Proof shampoo and conditioner, and when I got home saw the shampoo is clearly used--the opening in the flip cap is gunked up and about a quarter of the product is missing from the bottle. Disgusting they would put used merchandise on display for purchase. read more
