Nordstrom's, no matter which one you walk into, has the same luxury feel. The Galleria Nordstrom is no different.... except it seems like they're downsizing some at this location. I came in to buy some flip flops, and they had the gift shop sitting in the middle of the shoes. Now, it was fun seeing the gifts, especially since it's right before Thanksgiving so they're trying to catch all the early Christmas shoppers, but the gifts used to be on a different floor and in a different department. We went to the children shoe section for our 1 year old to get a First Shoe Experience, like I've heard they offer online. The experience was above and beyond what my expectations were! Tristan greeted us quickly (also with a younger girl in glasses who I think was training him, but I forgot her name :( ) He was so helpful and was able to measure our son's foot well and then brought some shoe options out. We picked the pair we wanted and Tristan gave my son a balloon, little shoe horn stuffy, and took pictures. It was such an amazing experience for us and we loved how well taken care of we were! This review is about the Men's shoe department and the lack of follow-up from Nordstrom's' Customer Service. I brought in 20 pairs of shoes at lunchtime on Friday 6/28. Moniqua is the shoe cleaning professional at this location today, asked her if today was an ok day to leave that much work for her to do. She assured me it was. Got a text at 4 pm that they were ready to pick up. Went and picked them up, paid and added my usual 30% tip. I've been having shoes cleaned here since about 2005. When I got home I realized that an incredibly shoddy job had been done. Light brown shoes had been spotted with dark brown polish, black shoes were left caked on polish etc. First I tried to fix it myself, then I decided to bring the shoes back for a redo. I exchanged texts to indicate politely that a shoddy job had been done. Stan in Men's shoes helped me track down Moniqua. She accepted responsibility though claimed that a machine was partly to blame as it bled dark polish onto the light shoes. She said she'd have to hand polish the shoes to return them to their original color. Inquired on Saturday about the shoes at 220 pm and was told they were ready but she couldn't save the brown shoes. I went to pick them up, understandably she was not there so someone else got the redone shoes for me. I opened up the brown shoes and was shocked. I now had a classic Church's Oxford that had been ruined and turned into a two-tone disaster. My hands were shaking and the lady asked me to talk to Customer Service. I walked over and they asked me to talk to a manager on duty. This gentleman asked to write down my name and name her and he would have a supervisor (Velma?) call me. It is now Thursday and no word. I estimate that I've spent about $5000 over the years at Nordstroms. This lack of follow up is not what I have come to expect. So many points of failure: 1. Messing up the shoe polish job 2. Not immediately taking responsibility for it and perhaps alerting management 3. Not following through with call back from Velma or whoever is actually in a position to fix this. I long for the days of Raffaeli, Mike, Jacoby etc. in those days they took pride in their work and the shoes got a spot shine. read more

What can I say other than Nordstrom is my all-time favorite department store. The layout is classy, the items they offer are well made and the staff is available without pressuring you to buy anything. This location is a bit smaller than other stores I've visited in California and part of that may have to do with construction that is taking place on the third level which made it difficult for me to even find the entrance. All of the typical departments are there but they seem to be on a slightly smaller scale right now as anything I had looked at wasn't in my size and an employee advised going online or they could order it for me and have it delivered which I appreciate. One thing I miss was not being serenaded by a live piano player on the first level as I've seen in other stores but that is certainly not a make or break type of thing. read more

Not at all what I expected of a store. Overall just disappointing from buying in the store and even at the return desk from buying online. Customer service rushed me, were rude, and overall lacking patience. It took a good 40min for me to be taken care off do to so many mess ups because they didn't take care of me the right way the first time. I had to come back to them a few times. Will not be buying from Nordstrom for a long while. Still shocked that JCpenney has better customer service in store and online returns. I placed two separate online orders, both with the intended pickup dates of March 8 and March 11 respectively. However, none of the orders delayed, but the lack of accountability from the store has been abysmal. Despite waiting patiently for my items, When I finally decided to call the store to inquire about the status of my orders, the representatives could not provide any explanation for the delays. It was utterly frustrating to hear that they had no idea why my orders were delayed, and even more disheartening to discover that they were not empowered to offer any form of compensation or resolution for the inconvenience caused. As a customer, I expect a certain level of transparency and accountability from businesses, especially when it comes to fulfilling orders on time. The lack of communication and inability to rectify the situation leaves me with no choice but to express my dissatisfaction with Nordstrom. Nordstroms is perhaps best known for their amazing customer service and this store definitely lives up to the reputation that nordstroms is known for. I came here with my daughter-in-law today to go perfume shopping as she was looking for a new scent. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly person as we entered the perfume area. They were patient and took their time helping her find out what types of sounds that she likes such as strong or subtle flowery earthy etc. She tried smelling know less than 20 fragrances in the person helping us remain patient and helpful.Ultimately she did not find what she was looking for here and we ended up continuing our shopping experience at other stores but none of which matched the customer service that we experienced at this location at Nordstrom's. read more

This Nordstrom store is located at Galleria Dallas, with 3 levels. I came by here with my husband and our little girl dog (yes all Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations are dog friendly) yesterday around 3:30 pm. On the bottom floor were the purses and shoes. I found myself a little disappointed in the brands featured in the purse section (MCM, Burberry, Alexander Wang). The selection of high end brands is much better at the North Park Center Nordstrom. I was greeted by an employee though when I did walk through the handbag section. As I browsed each floor, I just felt like this was just "eh" and that nothing really excited me. Not all Nordstrom store locations are created equal because there are just some locations that I seem to love more than others (Nordstrom is one of my favorite stores to shop in and have shopped at many locations, all over the US). But I will say that the employees that I interacted with during this visit were friendly. But if I lived around here, I would most likely frequent the North Park Center location (in general, I love that mall much more than the Galleria Dallas). read more

Ok, been to Nordstrom in Downtown Seattle and it was off the hook as far as service and assortments but my go to home store is the Nordstrom's in the Galleria. I know my way around the parking garage and know where to park for an in and out destination shopping experience. Park on the 3rd level and you can just walk across the beige to the 2nd level of the store. The service and assortments while not as extensive as the Seattle location they offer great selections in my price range. The coat I have searching for just happen to be in stock at this location and I have shopped for it on the east and west coasts. Yeah, I know they offer free shipping but I wanted to try the coat on in my size. The service is always above my expectations and my favorite department is shoes. The sales people try and are amazing to work with. I have stated my frustrations many time and written you to no avail. No changes have been made except to narrow the selections even more! There were three men two younger and one older and as I was looking around they never asked if I needed assistance because they were deep in conversation with the older one telling the younger ones about poker ???? This was the first time I was ever in this Nordstorm's. Located right in side the Galleria makes it very convenient. As with all Nordstorm stores it was beautiful and well laid out. I was searching for a long robe. I know we are in Spring and most stores do not carry them. But, I headed to the ladies night wear section, and there they were. I had a very nice sales lady that helped me with it and for half price I got a long Pink super soft robe. I wanted one that was all the way to the ground. But, apparently that is not all the rage this season. However, I was happy with the one that I was able to purchase, and it is nice and warm. It was a pain to take it on the plane though. I had to carry it in its own bag. All good though got it home in one piece. This store is really nice though I can't wait to go back. The restroom is nice and clean and the bistro is fabulous. Yes, Nordstrom is a chain store with locations in various shopping malls across the USA, therefore, it is substandard and typical. However, everytime I've have accidently wandered into Nordstrom's Junior section at the Galleria, I get good customer service (wait, what is good customer service again?). Also, this junior's section has clothes that fit me, the petite pirate, at prices I can afford. In this Jr. section, I also found a pair of sunglasses for $10. $10 for cute sunglasses - that is worth the drive to the Galleria right there. Despite a little section of Nordstrom I have found at this location that I am in like with, the prices and the normal-sized women's fashions in the rest of the store want to make me roll my eyes, so I can only give Nordstrom 3 stars overall, although their junior section deserves a 4. read more
