In 2003, I had wood siding installed in the front of my house, and concrete siding on the side and back of the house. The concrete siding appeared to hold up much better than the word siding, and I was considering replacing the wood siding with concrete. The materials I used were purchased from Wayside Lumber, so I called them asked for a contactor recommendation. They gave me one, North Cal Siding & Decking. I called them up and the owner, Paul, came out to give me an estimate that evening. As Paul looked at my siding and we talked, it was obvious that he had years of experience working with wood and concrete siding. My concrete siding was made by CertainTeed, and Paul informed me that they stopped making it around 2013. Paul said that my wood siding was in great shape, but the south side of my house with concrete siding was not. The concrete siding had separated between the boards, which would allow water to get in between and cause water damage (I would soon learn shortly after that there was a class action lawsuit against CertainTeed regarding this). Paul said that the remaining concrete siding was fine. Instead of replacing all of my wood siding, I only needed a portion of my concrete siding replaced. Paul gave me a quote and then I obtained 3 more quotes. North Cal Siding & Decking's quote was easily the lowest. I asked for, and received some referrals from Paul. After talking to former customers, I decided to use North Cal Siding & Decking. Paul and his crew did an excellent job in a timely fashion on my house. They kept a clean worksite, and kept me in the loop on everything they were doing. read more
