3 months after the completion of a "whole house re-pipe" I have pipes that "clunk" after the toilet…read moreis flushed! Obviously the pipes were not properly secured to the studs when replaced. That could be due in part to the employees smelling like they had just finished smoking pot, and weren't sure which way was up. Not only that, the stopper in the sink (simple job) that was replaced doesn't work anymore. How can you pay a "professional" plumbing outfit $25,000 to do a job like this and end up with such issues? I can't recommend Mako plumbing and would think twice before calling them. Looking back now, it seems as though they used a "rag-tag" team of people for employees who don't know how to properly do their jobs. Is that because they used their lunch time to get high? Make a better decision than I did - Skip Mako plumbing!!!

American Energy Home Pros is a great company and they now are offering plumbing repairs as well. They sent their Plumber Anthony out the same afternoon and he was able to repair the leak which was in a waterline and I did not have to replace the whole water heater. Note: I've posted this same review on Google Reviews…read more American Energy was one of three companies who priced my project. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

(on a Sunday) I was expecting to get the answering machine. I described the problem and he calmly walked me through the possible causes. He gave me step-by-step instructions on what might be causing the smell. I wasn't confident that I could fix it myself, so I booked the scheduled visit that following Wednesday anyway. But after hanging up, I tried his instructions. And sure enough it fixed the problem. Long story short, if you have a spare bath that is unused. Not running the flush or shower can cause a ?vacuum? where the sewer smell could escape... (something like that, but don't quote me). I haven't written a review here in years, but wanted to let everyone know that Kaelin (Draintech) is a good and honest business. He could have kept our appointment and I would have happily paid for his visit. But instead gave me the instructions to fix it myself. That's amazing. He didn't get a payment from me this time around, but he earned a faithful customer for any future plumbing issues I might encounter.
