It is difficult to imagine why I would call Boyd ever again. Maybe they have good techs and according to other reviews they are responsive. But ... We bought a new faucet for the kitchen sink. Boyd came out to give us an estimate for installation and refused to bid the job because we did not have a pressure regulator on the home. Additionally, they complained about access, need to pull the disposal, and need to replace the two shutoff valves under the sink. They were eager to leave. So I installed the pressure regulator and called Boyd again to bid the faucet task. Boyd gave a bid for the job of $570 to replace the faucet (see the picture). Half the bid was to replace the shut off valves. I told the tech that was insane; the valves slip on, cost $10 each, and can be swapped out in 15 minutes. He said this is their fixed cost pricing. I told the tech to go away. I understand fixed cost service providers amortize the cost of repair based on all such similar jobs BUT when it crosses over into the insanity zone they need to find a way to be reasonable. Nearly $600 to install a kitchen faucet is NOT reasonable! I did the job myself. I had to make a couple trips to ACE because I didn't have the parts or the tools. It took me several hours (including trips to ACE). The new shutoff valves slipped off and new ones were on in 15 minutes as I predicted. I was willing to pay $200 or $250.

My toilet seemed to be leaking from around the base, especially in front. September 10, 2020 I had a "diagnostic" appointment with Boyd Plumbing after paying $39. for this visit. The "technician" (why don't they call them plumbers?) arrived and I took him into the bathroom and stated that I thought it was leaking in front from around the base. I was thinking maybe the seal was worn out. The technician leaned over and touched the floor behind the toilet and immediately diagnosed it as (quote from written estimate) "Emergency stop replacement at bathroom with shower: Customer has a leaky emergency stop. Boyd Plumbing will drain water system, and replace emergency stop and supply." Time needed 1 hr, Price: $375 -$50 discount for an amount of $325. He then proceeded to try to upsell me toward the purchase of a new toilet. "Customer has moisture at the front of the toilet. The emergency stop is leaking in on and off position. However toilet might have a hairline crack. Boyd Plumbing will remove old toilet........etc." That cost would be $575 after a discount of $100 for bundling of services. So by the time the job would have been completed it would have taken 2 hrs and cost me nearly $1,000. The technician never examined the inside of the toilet tank. The technician never got down and really checked out the toilet or touched the bottom of the tank. It was as if he had a regular answer no matter what the problem and his job was to try to sell me as many services and products as possible. As it turns out the ONLY problem with my toilet was that the toilet flush valve needed replacing, the gasket at the bottom was worn out. It wasn't leaking from the emergency stop nor does my toilet have a hairline crack, it was leaking from the bottom of the tank below the valve. The Toilet Flush Valve repair kit cost me $20.23 at the hardware store and was a 15 minute job. And I wasted $39.00 paying BOYD PLUMBING for a lack of real diagnostics and who only wanted to sell me services and products I did not need. I don't know how other plumbing companies work but I sure can't recommend Boyd.

I am so appreciative of the efforts that Colton, Jacob, and Jeremy provided with getting through my plumbing disaster. I originally called for a backup in the bathroom. Colton was very thorough in his checks and discovered a much bigger problem with broken pipes under the house and in the wall. He took charge of the project and provided quality recommendations based on information he was given by the city. After some discovery again with the city, we found a major backup in the line to the city sewage. In the end we hired Boyd again for a 2 way cleanout and a new line from the house to the city line. Jeremy took this on and did a super job.

This is after replacing a really bad galvanized setup with copper. Looks great!

Needed a hose bib replaced due to failure. They came out pretty quick for non emergency call. They called ahead of time and sent email introducing the plumber and making sure we knew his name and face, nice security touch. Jeremy did the work great and was very professional and polite!

These are the photos of their excellent work with the main water line.

This company has my business for life. After another local plumbing company made the matter worse and was going to leave us without water for two weeks, Boyd plumbing and Israel came to the rescue and fixed the main water line. Working all day to dig the trench, the new work is clean and safe. Very professional and also empathetic to our plight. Next he fixed two vanity sinks and faucets and gave us a temporary sink with dishwasher and garbage disposal hook up. He will come back when the kitchen is nearing completion to make that sink and such permanent. Israel is also putting in a utility sink in the garage. At this point, I'm looking for things for him to do because he is just that good. Highly recommend. Hire them today.

Thank you Boyd Plumbing!! Mackenzie was a huge help yesterday taking my call. She answered all of my questions and was able to get me a plumber scheduled for today. Alex arrived promptly at 8. He assessed the damage and had all of the materials to repair multiple corroded copper lines. I feel I paid a great price for excellent service. Thank you

They took the time to answer all of our questions, explain our options, and guide us every step of the way. Not only was their customer service exceptional, but they also beat their competitors' pricing and saved us nearly $2,000 without sacrificing quality. During the installation, they were respectful of our home, worked safely around our family, and made us feel completely comfortable having them in our house. Your home is one of your most important investments, and finding people you can trust to help keep it safe is invaluable. Water Heater Pros exceeded our expectations in every way. They replaced our water heater efficiently, left everything clean, and continued to provide excellent customer service even after the job was complete. As an educator and someone who is actively involved in my community, I truly value honesty, integrity, and businesses that put people first. Water Heater Pros genuinely cares about their customers from the first phone call through the installation--and beyond. We will absolutely be calling them again for any future plumbing or water heater needs. I wholeheartedly recommend Water Heater Pros to anyone looking for outstanding service, fair pricing, and a company that truly stands behind its work!

I think I always leave positive reviews and gave Ty ample opportunity to correct his errors. I even suggested he sleep on it so he/we could come to a reasonable solution. I originally contracted with him to replace a failing tank-less water heater. He was quick, on-time and provided us with a reasonable quote. His install went ok and after a spray of water into the inside of the heater from what he called a faulty previous install, he dried everything and finished up. At one point I noticed that the exhaust vent was hanging at an angle and asked him if he needed to go in the attic to connect the pipe. He assured me he did not and that everything would be hooked up properly. I was relieved because we had just had insulation blown in and I did not want anybody back in the attic to flatten the insulation loft. Within a couple of months I began to experience errors with the heater requiring a hard reset. At first he told me to call the manufacturer and that problems like that were my responsibility. I was relieved when he visited and found insulation had dropped into the unit. He claimed that it was an improper seal of the exhaust flange in the ceiling, blaming the previous installer and suggested I fix it. I did. When it happened again he graciously came and cleaned more insulation out of the heater blower. All seemed well. Fast forward to recently when I had someone inspect the attic without going in the attic. He provided me with a photo of the disconnected exhaust vent from the water heater and suggested I call the person who installed the unit as it could be letting CO blow into our attic. When I called Ty he, again, blamed the previous installer of the preexisting vent. I suggested it was his responsibility to ensure all was hooked up properly and safe. He did not agree. After much back-and-forth, I suggested we sleep on it. Next day was no different. I talked him into sending one of his "installers" to fix it but it would cost me $200. The (really nice) young man came the next day and corrected the problem (for $200) and showed me a finished photo. Three different contractors I spoke with assured me it was the installers (Water Heater Guyz) responsibility to properly hook up the vent. The money doesn't bother me. Ty's inability to accept responsibility(or blame) and just fix it is where we part ways. At every point he tried to blame everyone but himself. Business owners should be willing to bend over backwards to make sure everything is done correctly The install was not done correctly even after I asked him about the vent and the disconnected vent was, most likely responsible for some of the insulation getting into the unit. I will not be calling him for any further work and will pay someone else if I need any more service. I like him and hope he does well but attitudes like this will eventually catch up with a business.

In the process of selling my home, I was told the master bedroom drain was slow and the dishwasher loop needed to be fixed so I spoke with Jimmy and made a service appointment. No upfront scheduling fees, and I was given a fair quote for the estimated work to fix the two items. Come the day of the service appointment, Roger updated me on his ETA, showed up at the confirmed time, and looked at everything. The honesty comes in where he confirmed there was nothing to fix really and explained that the dishwasher loop would require an air intake valve which meant cutting through the granite counter and he ran the dishwasher which ran just fine. All this to say, I could have had another company charge me just for the visit and for a fake fix but not Mako! Roger went the extra mile to write me a report invoice of $0 explaining his inspection. This is the epitome of integrity. Happy to write this review to express my gratitude! If I was keeping the house, I'd keep Mako as my go-to plumber and will still be sure to pass along this name to our neighborhood community Facebook group. Thank you again for coming out and being truthful to the situation without charging me any extra $0.01 than I needed to pay.
