Sean's rad. I called yesterday afternoon, and he fit me in at 930 this morning. As another reviewer reported, he was waiting for me and waved me under his canopy as I drove up. I love the fact that you can pay him and he'll do your registration for you at his computer. I hate dealing with the DumbV, so this was perfect. Had I not been chatting his ear off he likely would have had everything done in 15 minutes. He even applied the new sticker (I'm OCD about my vehicle, and he scraped, cleaned, and scored the sticker like I would have). Go here. Affordable, great guy, excellent work, I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

I don't think I'll ever go any other place to get my car smogged ever again. It was super fast and painless. Sean knew what he was doing and he had a great sense of humor to boot. Thanks for being awesome! read more

Just got my smog done and have to say it was the easiest, quickest, most welcoming one I've experienced! I've always had a bit of anxiety with auto shops, but didn't feel any of that here. Comfy, lived in waiting area and amazingly nice, cool owner/operator. If I need any other services they offer I'll for sure be going back, and I absolutely recommend them for your auto needs. read more

I'm just going to echo all the other reviews. I came here based on the positive feedback, and it was the easiest, most pleasant smog check ever. Definitely recommended. read more

Sean is awesome. I got my cam shaft sensor replaced for the second time in 3 years. I went to a different place the first time, and had no idea why after it was replaced the first time that it only lasted a couple years. He explained exactly why, he gave me options and fixed the issue in no time at all. I will definitely take my Dodge Neon back again. It's great to find a mechanic that believes in the value of customer service. read more

Just came from Norcal Auto having a smog done on my '84 VW Westy after visiting 5 other smog testers in town. Best experience I've had with a shop since moving out West! Sean took time out of his busy schedule and got me right in, as a walk in w/o an appointment. I'll be bringing all my vehicles here from now on. Not only was he very personable and competent, his price was more affordable than any other shop I visited! A previous shop charged me for a "diluted sample", ie. they did the test on a windy day and couldn't get a good reading. read more

Squeezed me in super last minute when I really needed it. Really friendly guy and great price. Give this guy your business!

I was up from Sunnyvale visiting relatives when I needed an emercency smog. Norcal Auto got me in and on the road before I finished checking my emails! Thanks Sean! read more

I used Yelp to find Norcal Auto and it exceeded my expectations. I made a appointment, showed up a little early, and Sean did my Truck right away. I will be back with my next car soon. They are also a Official Brake and Lamp station as well as smog. read more

Had my Smog Check done here for DMV, Sean was super helpful! It was quick, painless and a great deal! I will trust him for future smog checks and repairs if needed. :) Thanks!! (plus he told me I'd be able to pay my dmv fees here as well starting this spring-nice!) read more

This place is legit. The owner is super cool, and it literally took longer to get there than to get my smog check done. Don't usually post reviews, but the business was sooo good that I felt the need to read more

Smog checks are something we all have to do, and are usually a huge pain. Not any more. I called Sean at Nor Cal and had an appointment set up the same day! Even though I had told him I could drop the car off, he told me he could do it while I waited. I signed some paperwork and had a seat in his comfy waiting room (nice color choice on the walls, btw). Before I could even finish catching up on some email (free wi-fi there, too), the testing was completed and I was ready to roll. Not the typical experience at a repair shop. His pricing was low, service excellent. Painless trip to a shop. Customer service is key. Sean has it down. read more

I got my smog check here and it was very quick and easy! I was out in about 10 minutes! My smog check inspector was pleasant and very efficient when it comes to doing smog checks on newer cars. It was decently priced as well. I definitely recommend coming here if you need a smog check! read more

Went in for a smog and he was fast, friendly, and helpful. Didn't feel like I was being scammed or ripped off for the services provided. Since most auto repair experiences I have completely suck, Norcal Auto was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back when in need of more automotive repair. read more

Sean was very friendly, quick and efficient is performing the smog check on my car. I had an appointment and was in and out of there in about twenty minutes. He explained what he was doing along the way which I appreciated. No gimmicks just a straightforward smog check. Great place and good price. read more

Smogs for $45 and willing to open up a spot last minute for me. Entertaining conversation and friendly shop on the outskirts of Chico near the airport. Our girls love seeing Uncle Sean! Thanks, man! read more

Very easy-going guy; very down to earth. He was the experience super chill and quick! I've heard so many horror stories about other local smog places lately, so this was a huge relief! I'll definitely be back. read more

Amazing local business! I went to pep boys who charged me $130 for a diagnostic that was wrong & after they quoted me $500 just to replace a sensor I called NorCal Auto and they quoted me almost half that! Sean also took the time to explain all of the charges with me so I understood what I was paying for. I took it in to Sean as soon as he specialty ordered my part directly from Ford & he called me an hour later to tell me pep boys was wrong and my sensor was totally fine & it was my axel that needed replacing, he rushed ordered my speciality part, got in & fixed it in one afternoon! And the final bill ended up being less than the original quote I got from pep boys just to replace a sensor. Finally I have a mechanic I can trust & will definitely be back! read more

I recommend this place for fast and friendly service. I called the day before asking for a next day appt. Sean was very accommodating and helpful. I was one of the first to go in the morning and be out fast. Definitely will be taking my car there from now on. The service Is worth the drive. read more

Same as everybody else says: Fast, quick, courteous and efficient. I made an appointment for the same day and he was waiting for me when I arrived. I have never had a smog check done remotely close to this fast. read more

TERRIBLE. I called to get some info about their service. The phone number here on Yelp was not working so I googled it up and found a different number. I called and the owner (he said he was) hung up on me the first time then I called back and he was extremely rude on the phone. He was angry that I found this number and was terribly rude. I guess I should thank him for being rude before I even take a vehicle in there. read more

VERY satisfied with the professional, courteous, and SPEEDY service! Sean, the owner, treated me like an equal (even though I hardly know a thing about cars). I explained, as best I could, the symptoms my truck was having and Sean knew RIGHT AWAY what the problem was and how to correct it. At very little cost to me I was back on the road in no time! I will most certainly be back to NorCal Auto (as will my friends and family)! Thank you for a refreshing automotive repair shop experience, Sean! read more

Top notch service. After calling a few places I was referred here by Field Motor Sports. Sean got me in right away and was really pleasant. It's not very often that I find myself writing a review, but Sean is a really professional and all around nice person to deal with. I'll always use Nor Cal from now on. read more

Just got home from a great interaction with Sean at NorCal auto- friendly, helpful and FAST service. Whenever I go to car repair appointments, I usually feel like I'm being scammed or condescended to. Not so at NorCal auto. Thank you Sean! read more

I came across NorCal Auto doing a search for smog shops and was impressed by the reviews. I decided to give it a shot. When I arrived, Sean was just heading to lunch but made me an appt for the same day. Little did I know, it's the same Sean that has done previous work on several of my vehicles through other shops! It's nice to know he's got his own shop now. I arrived a little early for my appt and he was done within 10..maybe 15 minutes. He was fast, friendly, affordable, and honest. I know from track record that he's a good guy and now I have my go to place. Well worth the drive out by the airport to receive such good service. read more

Fast, friendly smog check. I showed up without an appointment & Sean squeezed me into his schedule. I was out of there in about 45 minutes.

I was first hesitant to drive out to the airport but was more than pleasantly surprised at the fast professional service.
