DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! They only take your money and want no part in providing decent customer service, hiring honest and competent installers or ensuring products received are in working and new condition. I am shocked at the lack of customer service once we received our appliances. During installation, significant damage was done while installing vent hood and refrigerator. Let's be clear, Nor-West hired the installers to deliver and properly install appliances. Neither want to take responsibility for damage caused. In addition to full Dacor kitchen appliance package, we also purchased Fisher and Paykel dishwasher. This was purchased at a later date than other appliances and on a separate invoice (which we NEVER received at time of purchase). This dishwasher stopped working two weeks after installation and without invoice, you are not able to register appliance with Fisher and Paykel to fix under warranty. Fisher and Paykel was able to send someone to repair, but Nor-West received the appliance two years ago, so they definitely need invoice to prove our purchase date and cover under warranty. When we called to get invoice emailed, we got excuses like "our internet is out" "we sent it to your contractor multiple times". After explaining that indeed, they had not emailed the 2nd invoice, and having to get this message to man screaming at me, we finally received invoice and now may be able to get our BRAND-NEW appliance repaired (full replacement of main controller is needed). I also was lucky enough to get lecture from Nor-West about how electronics and appliance work and how sometimes they break (after using TWO WEEKS?!?!?!). Yeah, thanks. Something as simple as "Wow, that should not happen. Please let us know if you need anything additional information from us to assist in getting repairs with manufacturer", would have been a thousand times better than getting screamed at by terrible man who works there. We did not even mention that dishwasher has small dent in front or Fisher and Paykel noted installation error of main hose (yes, you guessed it, by installers engaged by Nor-West). Shame on me for not taking their reviews seriously. The lack of accountability and endless excuses are truly shocking. Just look at EVERY response to their poor reviews. Here is a tip: maybe take a little more time to focus on customer satisfaction instead of responding with a novel of excuses to almost every review. read more

Their prices are the same or higher than those found in other appliances store, and in reality many of the items can be bought directly from manufacturers or through Home Depot or Best buy that have a much better customer service team and you can finance the items easily. Plus you will have options, with this store you do not, unless they charge you more money, beside they are terribly rude and even threaten customers... I only went there because my contractor had them as a vendor, but if you like me get sent over there, do yourself a favor, go to other appliance store such Ferguson or FBS appliance or even Best Buy or Home Depot, you'll be saving yourself a lot of frustration, money and you will be able to actually get what you want if your project changes as they often do in remodels... read more

Nor-West Appliance was easy to deal with and the owner Steve was great! He is very knowledgeable and does not try to pressure you into buying any particular model just to make a sale. I bought the Speed Queen washer and Dryer set there and had it delivered and setup. Everyone was professional from the own to the delivery folks. Have since made another purchase and brought that unit back to exchange for another one. They were more than willing to make the exchange. I will be buying more from them in the future! read more

I highly recommend not buying anything from Norwest Appliances. My experience is as follows. Before our remodel, we had John Wood (sales rep for Norwest) to our house to review the project. They designed a tri-column panel-ready Dacor setup (two refrigerators with a freezer). They confirmed the space we needed. During the remodel, we ensured that the measurements they provided were correct. After the project, we installed our panel-ready doors, and we could not install the handle on the freezer because it was a safety hazard (pinch point) when the refrigerator door was opened. I asked Norwest to come to the project, which they did. They said they had never seen this before, and the sales rep (John Wood) said he needed to figure out what to do because this was the first tri-column he had sold. I asked Norwest to share their terms and conditions with me. They refused and then refused to take my calls and said I needed to speak with Dacor. After a few weeks, I finally had Dacor visit the project. They confirmed there is no issue with the product but with the installation. Dacor also shared with me an install guide that shows a spacer on tri-column is an option for panel ready, so you don't have this safety issue with a pinch point. So, Norwest designed and installed but did not inform us of the optional spacer for panel-ready appliances. After Dacor recommended Norwest take my phone call, they called me ignorant. They made outlandish claims about whether someone should tell you not to murder somebody. I said I'm not comparing an appliance install to murdering somebody. That is ridiculous. I recommend you find a dealer that will stand behind their product and its services. Norwest is only there to sell you products and walk away. After spending $80,000 with them, I'm stuck trying to fix the problem they designed and created. I live in the neighborhood, and I like to use local vendors, this company has had an item that I've ordered on back order for over three months, it's a dishwasher. I went to Lowe's and purchased one and had it installed, 45 days ago, at that time I called to say I wish to cancel my order and they want to charge me a restocking fee of $250. there's nothing to restock, it's January 27 and it is still not in they still have not acknowledged if it was ever shipped. they told me they're far too busy to call people to keep them up-to-date on the items I've ordered, I've called left many messages they never seem to call back. read more

Worst customer service. We waited 6 months for a refrigerator. They gave us about 6 dates of delivery. Once the date passed, no phone call. We called them each time. Then given a new date. After 6 months and another date, we were unhappy. They actually told us they don't call customers. And said that nobody does that. Really!! They don't have time for that. Shop elsewhere. We purchased a replacement oven and microwave. When we expressed our concerns about the fit we were told it would be trimmed out. Guess what it wasn't and of course to do that we have to go back and pay more for the kit and install. We paid in full with no mention of any additional charges ....guess what ...the installers had an additional charge. Nor - West Appliance is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. We bought an outdoor gas grill. They delivered it and was installed the installer could not get the rotiisserie burnner to work. They said they would have to get a part for it and install it later. That night we turned the burnners on to grill and the grill would not get hot. We discovered the lid was not fitting correctly it appeared bent. Called to have a tech to look at it. They came and discovered and reported that is was bent. We want a replacement for the whole grill. It is brand new and we should have a total replacement not a fix. They just want the manufacture to fix it. This is not acceptable. We bought the grill from NOR-WEST not the manufacture. NOR-WEST is a total rip off and will be reported to the BBB. We had a house fire and I purchased a stove, dishwasher and convection oven\microwave from Norwest. I purchased a commercial stove from John Wood at Norwest. He gave me a song and dance about standing behind their products and the service they provide and it was LIES. First, he provided the incorrect specs on the size of the stove to my contractor which resulted in quartzite countertops being cut too large. It was extremely expensive to repair. Second, though not their fault, a worker shattered the glass on the larger of the two ovens. I called to get a new door. They sent a repairman through their service out. I didn't ask for it to be free just fixed. The guy they sent, Jason, via Maple Distributing, put the door on incorrectly and broke the hinges inside and out. Norwest put me in touch with another repair company and they are the ones that informed me the hinges were broken and why. They called to let me know Maple Distributing will not allow them to fix the door. Norwest Appliance and their Distributor, Maple Distributing will not provide the information needed to get the door fixed. Do NOT use this store. They do not stand behind their products or their service. They are extremely rude, unkind and the worst folks I have dealt with. read more

Delivered non working $8k fridge NO RETURNS Call GE to register your product and then have them come out to service it was their advice. Calling my credit card to dispute the charge, then my attorney, then the BBB. Buyer beware! GE so far has been terrible, the owner has responded to my reviews on other sites saying he offered to call GE for me, I refused an inspection (both untrue) - there was no offer for even the most minimal help with this situation. The refrigerator doesn't cool. That was something we figured out about an hour after the delivery guys left. Now I am stuck with a giant expensive lemon refrigerator with absolute no help or customer service from the business I bought it from. Navigating GE customer service alone on this topic has not been easy or fun. I would think Norwest has a better way of negotiating the situation being a GE distributor. If the refrigerator would have been delivered in working condition, this would have been a good review. But in the event there is anything that goes wrong with your delivery or installation, you can read this and other reviews to see that this company is not going to help you out with anything and in fact will defensively respond to any criticism by deflecting the blame. Horrible company, and a horrible owner, Steve Barnes. My 83 yo mom ordered an oven in January. Still waiting for the oven. I understand the delays due to Covid, etc., but Mr. Barnes is so incredibly unhelpful. We have called GE directly; only to be told they have no record of my mother's order. We called Nor-West asking for their contact information to GE, and Mr. Barnes said he didn't have a contact number - that he had a rep, but he refused to give out that information (only wanted a company email address). Mr. Barnes made a bad situation 20 times worse by his utter lack of professionalism. Insult to injury, he refused to give my mother a full refund, stating he was "entitled" to a 5% "credit card fee" even though he admitted that he was paid in full through Synchrony. I needed a replacement gas cooktop, so I checked out Nor-West, which has been around forever. Spoke to Stephen who was very knowledgeable and informative. He gave me a price and I checked with a few other stores & they were exactly the same price. I always try to support the small companies, so went back to Stephen & purchased the cooktop. He said that he would need to order it, and would take 7-10 days to get it in (the 2019 holidays were fast approaching). SIX (6) days later it was installed & working in my kitchen. DO NOT BUY FROM NORWEST! They have no customer service and told us to contact Electrolux. One french door swings open too wide and has been damaged by hitting the oven door. They have attempted to adjust twice. And now, they say it is not adjustable even though the owner's manual states that it is adjustable. Stephen Barnes, the owner, is not to be trusted. PLEASE READ PRIOR TO CONSIDERING NOR-WEST: THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!!!!! My wife and I are at drywall stage of our new home on an acre lot in Spring with 500k-1mil homes being the norm. We are looking to utilize Thermador appliances and wanted to get at least 3 bids prior to spending 30K (I would think anyone spending this much on appliances would do the same). Went into Nor-West with the exact Thermador models we are looking to purchase. Salesman on crutches meet us and begin speaking with my wife. I mostly browsed about the junky looking place. Salesman asked about fridge door handles and took our paperwork to the back with the model numbers. In the meantime an older couple came in. Salesman was gone 10-15 mins and the older couple got frustrated and left because they were getting no help. My wife also told me that the salesman seemed rude. I shrugged it off and reminded her it was 15 mins to closing time and he was probably just ready to go. Finally, salesman comes back with prices written on a post-it. My wife asked if he could provide an actual written bid. At this point I was standing around the corner, but intently listening since she had perceived him as being rude earlier. The salesman told her that she would get one as soon as we purchased the appliances. I step around the corner and informed him that we are looking for prices prior to purchasing. This obviously agitated the salesman. He stated, "You either want to do business or NOT!" I told my wife we need to go, and the salesman said, "GO!" and handed my wife our paperwork back. I could not believe what I was hearing. I turned and asked if he owned the place, to which he stated "no". I informed him that he is a rude A$$-Hole as we walked out. Getting back in our truck, I was still in shock and asked my wife "Did that just REALLY happen?". In disbelief herself, she started looking through our paperwork and found the salesman had handed her some of Nor-West opened mailed. It was a Past Due notice from the US Dept of Commerce for Nor-West 2017 Annual Retail Trade Report. I actually went back inside and told him I am a nicer person and I bringing back his past due notice, and walked out. I do not understand how this guy works in sales, what was on his mind or why he acted this way. I also will NOT make any statements of slander or liable in an attempt to make sense of him, but I will state facts and let you decide whether to do business with Nor-West. Facts: 1. We did not drive in with a Mercedes or BMW 2. We were not dressed like snobs 3. My wife is African-American and I am Caucasian 4. I only saw that he had 1 crutch....maybe a previous customer had broken the 2nd crutch off in his A$$. We wanted to change out our old electric cooktop (which thanks to some household wiring issues was threatening to burn the house down) and upgrade to a larger gas cooktop. We found ourselves looking at many of the same units at all the usual major box stores, but thought we'd check out Nor-West while we were fairly close by. Glad we did! Stephen greeted us, and as soon as I said we were looking for a gas cooktop, he immediately pointed to a DCS and basically said "that one." He gave us all the specs on it, and it really sounded like that was the way to go. It was also very far from the most expensive! We ultimately decided to get the five-burner model, and it's beautiful. The installers also did a great job, including cutting the granite to accommodate it. read more

This company sold my almost 90 year old grandma a 36 inch Verona Prestige convection oven/range over the phone (a special order) which they referred the brand to her to look up. She paid almost $3400 with installation and delivery, meanwhile a week later other vendors had it listed for $2600 with shipping and installation. She called them almost immediately to report that it was not working properly that it wouldn't heat all the way, even when we tried it to help her. They were of no help and referred her to customers care. I called today after she had to purchase another brand new range from another vendor, and the Manager told me that they do not know how to operate all the items they sell. Why are they selling items they don't know how to operate, and why did they make it clear that even after 30 seconds of placing the order it was non-refundable??? Do not purchase anything through this vendor if you have any questions they can't answer them, nor cancel or do any replacements (I am guessing poor other customers have had the same issue, this is why they are still on business)! Nor-west is great appliance company...we found everything we needed. Nor-west was the only place that we were able to find the French Door style refrigerator that I wanted that would fit in our custom kitchen. Though we have had a few problems with it through the years Steve the Owner of Nor-West was extremely helpful when we had to replace it due to a Freon leak. He has always stood behind his products. We love our Induction Stove top ...so safe around our grandchildren. Our Double Oven has been wonderful as I bake 2 and 3 times a week for our Synagogue as well as Children's Birthday Cakes. Our old range finally gave in so I started looking for a new range (GE 6 burner). Sears appliance was close by and they could get the range we wanted. Sales person did not have any personality at all. We decided to wait two weeks for a Memorial day sale. We still needed a range hood though (had a microwave hood). My wife and I decided to take the drive out to Nor-West and we are so happy that we did. We had looked at a range hood, decided that we would get that. My wife suggested that while we were there to ask about the GE range we wanted. All of our questions were answered, they gave us a price that actually was better than what the Sears Memorial day sale would have been. We decided to by the range and the hood from Nor-West. Getting the range installed was another fantastic experience. With Sears I always had the crew of 2 - 4 people who did not usually speak English well and would just do an ok job. The people that installed the range hood and range were fantastic!. They knew what they were doing, showed us any special features and took their time to make sure it was done correctly. Simply put everyone that I dealt with was a knowledgeable person who cared about the customer experience. Ever wonder why the big box stores install everything so quickly? After repeated transactions with this dealer over many years, I can report the following. Merchandise selection: consistently several quality steps above that in the big-box stores -- i.e., no market-flooding Asian brands -- and several steps below the ultra-expensive brands. Shop appearance: Charm is one thing, shabby is another. Additions to the original building appear haphazard, floors are not level, carpet is old and wrinkled, lighting is awful, counters and work desks are cluttered. Sales staff/owner: Apparently knowledgeable and patient, but once the sale is made does not take care of the customer. Owner is accessible and returns calls promptly, but offers no help, extra-step service or even follow-up for shipping/delivery problems -- I have had to do tracking legwork myself. Has denied customer-reported problems with appliances, i.e. heating patterns in stoves. In sum: Good merchandise, but poor service. I am looking for another dealer. read more
