Please use caution when considering Uptown Appliance…read more We hired Uptown Appliance to repair our JennAir Expressions gas downdraft cooktop, which was over 10 years old. We understood its age, but the only issue was that the automatic ignition no longer worked. The cooktop was still fully usable as long as we manually lit the burners. On June 9, 2026, technician Jose diagnosed a failed spark ignitor module and said we would receive a repair estimate. The initial quote listed the replacement part at $1,582. After I pointed out that the same part was available online for $186, they revised the estimate, claiming the original amount was a clerical error. We approved the repair, paid the deposit, and scheduled installation for June 17. During the installation, Jose had difficulty removing the nut on the aluminum right-front burner gas jet. Instead of stopping and trying another method, he continued applying torque with a ratchet, damaging the gas jet, breaking the aluminum gas line, and bending the mounting bracket. We immediately contacted Savannah, who consulted with her manager and said Uptown Appliance would take responsibility and make things right. What concerned us even more was that Jose wanted to place the cooktop back into service despite the broken gas line. We refused because of the obvious safety risk. Savannah later told us the replacement parts had arrived, and an appointment was scheduled for June 22. After we rearranged our schedules to be home, the appointment was canceled late that afternoon and moved to June 23. On June 23, technician Anthony, whose business card identified him as a supervisor, arrived with only one replacement part--the gas line. After inspecting the cooktop, he confirmed that the gas jet and mounting bracket were also damaged but had not been ordered, making the repair impossible. He also commented that the seized nut could have simply been cut off, avoiding damage to the gas jet, bracket, and gas line. He photographed the damaged components and said he would have the correct parts ordered. Later that day, we spoke with manager Bobby. Rather than showing empathy, he focused on explaining how much time and effort Uptown Appliance had already invested and discussed business margins. We reminded him that it was their technician who caused the additional damage. Before their repair attempt, our cooktop was still functional aside from requiring manual ignition. Afterward, it was completely unusable. Bobby assured us they would make it right. On July 3, Leah called to say the remaining parts had arrived, and we scheduled another appointment for July 7. When technician Kevin arrived on July 7, he brought a switch that had nothing to do with our repair. At that point, we asked Leah to arrange a meeting with a manager or owner. Instead, she returned with management's decision to refund our deposit and suggested we contact ASI Appliance. ASI informed us they do not stock parts for cooktops over 10 years old and generally do not work on appliances that have already been disassembled by another company. After more than a month of delays and incorrect parts, we were left with a cooktop that was in worse condition than when Uptown Appliance first arrived. Aside from refunding our deposit, the company offered no meaningful resolution, compensation for our lost time, or even a sincere apology. If you have an older appliance, especially one with limited parts availability, ask detailed questions before authorizing repairs. Based on our experience, I recommend proceeding with caution when considering Uptown Appliance.

Never was I pressured to buy one brand over another. Nino, the installer made the appointment directly with me and He and his crew arrived early! DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! They only take your money and want no part in providing decent customer…read moreservice, hiring honest and competent installers or ensuring products received are in working and new condition. I am shocked at the lack of customer service once we received our appliances. During installation, significant damage was done while installing vent hood and refrigerator. Let's be clear, Nor-West hired the installers to deliver and properly install appliances. Neither want to take responsibility for damage caused. In addition to full Dacor kitchen appliance package, we also purchased Fisher and Paykel dishwasher. This was purchased at a later date than other appliances and on a separate invoice (which we NEVER received at time of purchase). This dishwasher stopped working two weeks after installation and without invoice, you are not able to register appliance with Fisher and Paykel to fix under warranty. Fisher and Paykel was able to send someone to repair, but Nor-West received the appliance two years ago, so they definitely need invoice to prove our purchase date and cover under warranty. When we called to get invoice emailed, we got excuses like "our internet is out" "we sent it to your contractor multiple times". After explaining that indeed, they had not emailed the 2nd invoice, and having to get this message to man screaming at me, we finally received invoice and now may be able to get our BRAND-NEW appliance repaired (full replacement of main controller is needed). I also was lucky enough to get lecture from Nor-West about how electronics and appliance work and how sometimes they break (after using TWO WEEKS?!?!?!). Yeah, thanks. Something as simple as "Wow, that should not happen. Please let us know if you need anything additional information from us to assist in getting repairs with manufacturer", would have been a thousand times better than getting screamed at by terrible man who works there. We did not even mention that dishwasher has small dent in front or Fisher and Paykel noted installation error of main hose (yes, you guessed it, by installers engaged by Nor-West). Shame on me for not taking their reviews seriously. The lack of accountability and endless excuses are truly shocking. Just look at EVERY response to their poor reviews. Here is a tip: maybe take a little more time to focus on customer satisfaction instead of responding with a novel of excuses to almost every review.

I called VPS and victor promptly answered the phone and actually scheduled me for the following morning. He promptly arrived diagnosed the issue the motherboard but come to find out they no longer make the board ...No problem Victor to the rescue he took the motherboard home and repaired the capacitor and returned a few hours later to complete the job. he troubled shooted and discovered my clogged vents of 14 years caused the dryer to over heat. so getting to the root cause Victor cleaned out my dryer vent with a approx 20 ft run. He then as a precaution changed the thermistor (took the entire machine apart) and clean the inside like new all for a more than reasonable rate. Definitely top notch service at a reasonable price. if I had more hands I would give him 4 thumbs up ‐------‐------------------------------------------------------------------------ he usado victor varias veces desde 2018 trabajo excepcional.

They rescheduled 2 times. They never came the week after. It's may 31st. They called me 20 minutes before and the guy who delivered " black shirt in pictures" he said that his time was precious and that didn't have the time to wait for not. Mind you I was 30 minutes from my home. I barely made it home to get them installed. I get home they're dropping them off. The guy started nice and all. I called my mother asked where to exactly install them at a certain place- he heard my mother say where to and oh my. He started going off- that we wasn't going to deal with us "people" -WOW- anymore that we have been wasting our time. Then he said he wouldn't install them. I told him okay drop them off leave them inside my house and I will find a way to install them. He didn't want to- he said no I'm not going to. I repeated 3 times drop them off, the whole time he is pissed RUDE. The other guy in green was nice didn't talk back just said hi and ask about my day. I can't believe that Home Depot cannot drop off a pair of washing machines. UNBELIEVABLE. I was rescheduled 2 times. When they first got there they called and said back order..... the guys was terrible- cannot be trusted with a truck- he is extremely immature, liar, irresponsible and childish. Can't believe he is putting Hispanic people like this. HE NEEDS TO BE REPORTED AND FIRED. Begged him to drop them off I HAVEN'T WASHED CLOTHES IN 3 WEEKS HELLO? If this doesn't get resolved I will sue Home Depot.
