Went here with a friend during their "Crazy Hour" from 4-7pm! What a great deal! All of their sushi is all between $2-4 and the drinks are all 50% off! The food was great and very fresh! We ordered a large variety of different Nigiri Sushi to include the striped bass, cooked shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon, salmon fat, me a few others! Each piece you could tell was very thoughtfully prepared! The service was a little Slow at first but once we asked for our waters everything came out very quickly and we had no other issues! After leaving an event at The Square, I wanted some sushi for dinner and luckily, Nooshi was a short walk. Once seated, I realized it was happy hour (4-7pm) and included half off cocktails and nigiri, sushi and appetizers ranging from $2-6. For my drink, I tried a watermelon mojito. I didn't really taste any rum, just the flavoring. From the HH menu, I tried the kimchi dumplings and a lobster salad bite. The dumplings were golden, crispy and paired well with the sauce. I also order the Jedi Roll, which included salmon, yellowtail and tuna topped with avocados and fish eggs. The roll was very fish and flavorful. I used to come here a lot when I lived in DC so I wanted to try it again when I was back in town for a visit, but the prices feel like they have skyrocketed! The actual food is still really great, but I did walk away feeling like I spent more than I should have on my items: Firefly Calamari ($14) - The price of this wasn't bad, but there were a lot more fried peppers in this than I would have liked. However, the calamari pieces itself were wonderfully crispy and nice and plump inside. To top it off, the honey lemon dip here is amazing - I wish other places used this as their calamari dipping sauce! Chirashi ($29.50) - This felt like a lot of money for a small tray of food. Without the Calamari (and even with it), I would still be hungry, and I feel like $30 should give you a filling meal at a place like this. But despite the small portion size, the fish itself was very nice and had a good variety. I do with the salmon and tuna pieces would be more like sashimi instead of poke, but it tasted good all around. The fish eggs on top were an especially nice touch! All in all, I used to love this place and I may be back for the appetizer, but $30 feels like too much money for a Chirashi of that size. I didn't know what to expect from a restaurant whose outdoor sign promises oodles of noodles. Party of ten, we went through the menu: it was my first time here, and being a fan of curry, asked about it. Everyone agreed that I should try the Red Curry, saying that it is perfect. I ordered chicken with mine. Someone ordered me a Mai Tai without my knowledge... and it was delicious. It's very easy to overdo curry -- but mine was perfect in all aspects. Subtle flavors with a hint of being "hot" (spicy)... and the chicken literally melts in your mouth. As curry dishes go, this was probably the best I've ever had, certainly the best I've had in a very long time. (As an airline pilot, I've spent time in Pakistan, India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and most of Europe... and curry is a favorite food.) Service was attentive without being a cloying nuisance. Very nice people. Prices? Well, this is DC... and everything is expensive. Surprisingly, the cost of my meal was very reasonable. You have to try this place. Pretty disappointed. We were deciding between two places and ended up here because of the happy hour and i would only ever recommend this place for the happy hour. For starters, the service is outstanding. Everyone was friendly, very attentive, they are extremely quick with the food, but that's about the highlight of our meal. We ordered all 3 sushi happy hour rolls and for $5.50, you can't go wrong. I wish i just stopped there...We ordered three different noodle dishes and all of them were just mediocre with minimal flavor. They also charged me an extra $2 to swap noodles (they told me ahead of time and I was okay with this) which I still don't understand as rice noodles are cheaper than flat noodles and the portion size was small. Also really, why is there a charge to swap noodles?! At nearly $20 for each noodle dish, I felt like we just threw away money. We were not full, portions were on the smaller side and there just wasn't much flavor in any of the dishes. Unless you're coming for happy hour, find somewhere else. I came here yesterday with two friends during their happy hour which is M - F4-7 p.m. I ordered drinks from the happy hour menu, the lychee Bellini (was really refreshing) and the plum wine was strong and sweet, with an odd after taste. We also got one of each of the happy hour sushi rolls: spicy crunchy shrimp roll, spicy tuna and cucumber roll, crab roll, and a tofu roll which were all great! Honestly, we were starting to get full after that, but wanted to try some more. So we added on a softshell crab roll and a yellowtail and scallion roll + my friend got a spicy scallop maki roll. My favorites were the HH spicy crunchy shrimp, HH crab, softshell crab and spicy scallop maki rolls! The bill came to about $45-50 per person which is amazing considering we had a huge meal of sushi + cocktails in DC. Absolutely one of the best noodle shops in D.C. with some of the best Happy Hour deals from 4-7. All drinks are 50% off (with a hefty amount of alcohol), sushi rolls and snacks are ~$5, and the portion sizes are really big. Highly recommend their delicious and crispy Seven Spices Tofu Fries and their Curry Laksa with its broth is delicious. But all of their sushi rolls and noodles dishes are good options. The staff are incredibly kind, and I would definitely come back to try the rest of the options! Generally, the restaurant isn't too crowded on weekdays, but they do allow reservations. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. Second time around and still really enjoying the restaurant. Had their Mojitos this time and the Pomegranate mojito was delicious. Also had the Pikachu Maki Roll which was massive and sadly didn't resemble Pikachu but tasted very good. They have a nice bar area where you can be seated. There Are seats outside (which is real popular) and dinning options available. (I also seen they have a pick up Options and looks like there on DoorDash or Uber eats...) The food was so/so. Some things are good others were "ok"... the drinks were okay. Had a lot of liquor in it which is a good thing I guess but I do Prefer a more balanced drink (not too sweet-not too strong) and most the drinks we had were very strong. My favorite out of the three was definitely the peanut noodles with tofu. The sauce was so delicious and the tofu and vegetables all tasted great. I liked how this restaurant had a good selection of vegetarian dishes and many could be customized to be vegetarian. The food also came out pretty quickly which was great. Everyone we interacted with who worked there were also very nice and friendly! The inside of the restaurant was nice and well decorated. I treated the family here for dinner. I took advantage of their happy hour price for their mai tai; if I recall correctly, their entire drink menu EXCEPT for one section that I can't recall is half off during happy hour. They have an awesome variety of dishes from different cuisine, a good sushi offering, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My mom said that the seafood noodle dish had too much noodles, but otherwise everyone liked their food. I liked my green tea cheesecake (the two small slices were about $6.50), Dad liked his volcano roll and frozen margarita, my brother liked his salmon skin roll, my grandmother had no complaints about her wonton soup, and we also enjoyed our two orders of edamame. However, for the chirashi, we had no warning that the tuna that came with it would be tossed in a spicy sauce (although, with many things on the menu being spicy, maybe we should've assumed.) My partner orders chirashi as a "safe" option to navigate around his allium intolerance. He noted the spicyness in his first few bites of tuna, and we instead ordered a few pieces of nigiri for him. The fatty tuna nigiri came topped with chopped green onion, which is also a no-no for him, but that was easy to scrape aside. He LOVED the fatty tuna and didn't say much about the shrimp nigiri he ordered, but he is currently storming through a reaction as I type this. We've had no problem with chirashi in the past, but if anything this is a reminder for us to specify no toppings and no sauces. Our waitress also wasn't really friendly, and we were waiting around for the tab for a while. The other waitress, who was way more friendlier and attentive, stepped in instead toward the end of our meal. I was aware of the 20% gratuity automatically being added to the check because of Yelp reviews, but I didn't see anything on the menu specifying this automatic addition nor was I aware of if this automatic gratuity applies to a certain party size or all orders. read more
