I've eaten at Noodlezip several times, never have been disappointed. The food is very fresh and flavorful. It's so hard not to order an appetizer, because they are all so delicious. It does get a little pricy, but portions are large. Seating is limited, so sometimes there is a wait, but it is so worth it! Spicy has a good kick, so keep that in mind if you do order something with that label. I recommend keeping your coat with you verses hanging on the wall hooks. They are right outside the kitchen and get unpleasant smells absorbed into them. read more

The food here actually wasn't bad, but I was extremely turned off by the fact that the employees from the kitchen kept coming to the dining area, snapping photos of my family and I, then running back to the kitchen snickering. This place is small and the hot new thing in town - so plan accordingly. I went with some co-workers for an early lunch (11:30) and we were seated immediately. We ordered some of the spring rolls for starters and Vietnamese Pho for our meals. It was some of the best I've ever had. As good or better than what I've had in metros like Minneapolis and Denver. Would give 5 stars but we waited an hour to be seated and when we were full, they had no more to-go bowls left and it was a 12 $ bowl of ramen so I wasn't just gonna leave half of it. walked inside and immediately was bombarded by the very loud music.. the food odor was overwhelming. We asked for the music to be turned down, but we were told "the chef likes as is'"". We therefore left. My 3 minute intersection inside the restaurant left me and my clothes smelling like I had been cooking in that place for the entire day. Very expensive, but the meals were delicious. Was excited to see that the menu included tons of items that were marked gluten free. As my whole family is gluten free, this is a big thing. It was great until the staff and rather brash chef explained that most of the items marked gluten free were actually physically commingled with wheat products. It seemed that most of the problem was that they soaked there gluten free and wheat noodles in the same bowl of water to get ready to pan fry. Chef Marty Lee explained to my family how lucky we were that they were not really busy or else he would not have got a whole different bowl to soak our noodles separate. Seems to me to be a pretty simple problem to fix! Not sure if there is a bowl shortage in the Bismarck area or not. Gluten free people watch out and ask staff what meals are actually gluten free that are marked as such on the menu. read more

As a restaurant owner and an acclaimed chef I must say this is the worst and most pretentious restaurant in North Dakota. Most importantly just looking at the menu something is very wrong. Nobody should have to pay between $14 and $18 for Pho. $9.00 for vietnamese spring rolls and walk out the door with less than par street food attached to a $60 bill. I am sorry that Bismarck has no idea of the cost and simplicity of Vietnamese food but I can show restaurants from California that serve delicious traditional noodle dishes for a fair and reasonable price that will knock your socks off and keep you begging for more. This place is a sham. Who puts so many ingredients into a spring roll where you cant figure out what it is? Red leaf lettuce? Rice noodles, apricots? Disgusting! Bring back mint, Cilantro and basil. Omit the gross noodles! . This place is an insult to Asain Cuisine. Unfortunately nobody from Bismarck knows this. As for the Pho. A small bowl for the low low price of $14 for lunch? A heaping bowl overfilled with rice noodles, either flavorless boiled chicken or disgusting fatty beef rolled into a ball sunk to the bottom of your soup? The one thing I am fortunate for is that if I which I plan to open a restaurant like this I will offer a Pho for the same size for $6.95 and a large bowl which they do not offer for $8.95. My dishes will be traditional, not trendy and will keep your mouth watering for more. People should not have to get raped and have crappy Pho Pau food just to enjoy a street food lunch. Woo!!! Bismarck finally has an Asian Restaurant. Growing up in an Asian community in California, I'm pretty picky about my Asian food. Noodlezip definitely meets those standards. I would recommend the Pho as the main dish and dumplings as your appetizer. The ramen was ok, the broth was a bit bland for my tastes. The Peking ribs were really good. Not sure why, but one of my ribs was covered in salt on one side. No worries though, just brushed it off and kept going. The prices here are a bit more expensive than what I am used to back at home. However given your options in Bismarck, it is definitely worth it. You can tell that this is a true Asian restaurant by their practical wall decorations (their to-go containers, chopsticks, napkins, straws and etc). Service was very nice and friendly. The only downside is that parking may be a bit difficult to find at certain times and the small size of the restaurant. Not ideal for large parties. Their largest table holds 4. Any larger than that and you will be eating at the bar. Make sure you arrive early, as there is always a line whenever I come. Without a doubt, I will be returning to Noodlezip in the near future. read more

I've had lunch here with friends or family 3 times now and tried 4 entrees and 2 appetizers - everything has been excellent. It all tasted fresh and was obviously made from scratch. It's nice being able to watch the chefs prepare your food. My only complaint was that once the hostess asked us to move seats in the middle of our meal to accommodate a larger party - nice for the people waiting to be seated, but annoying for someone who was trying to enjoy their meal.
