    Korean glass noodles with shrimp
    Tricia W.

This is just such a cool little place! There are some tables, but I just sat right up at the bar and was able to watch the fabulous chef make my food fresh! I had the Korean glass noodles with shrimp and it was tremendously good! Super tasty! When I was watching him make the meal, I was so impressed with how only fresh ingredients used were. He even cooked the shrimp instead of cutting corners and using frozen shrimp. Very impressive and made a huge difference in the flavor. Portions are massive! You can share or plan to take some home for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend!

The food was lovely, this is the second time I've visited Bismarck coming from California and I told my boyfriend we had to come back to this place. I remember last time we ordered practically one of everything and it tasted so good, the textures and the flavors felt fresh and delicious and authentic. The owner and the waitress were very quick, attentive, and kind to everyone who stepped in. I noticed that they immediately greeted everyone who walked in and spoke to customers as If they're friends. I felt very comfortable here The design of the restaurant itself is also very classy and nice. It reminds me of trendy san fransisco restaurants, definitely a lovely place to visit

Glad they've expanded seating. They are short staffed, which is understandable. You order and then go seat yourself. They deliver your food to the table. The staff is very friendly. Plenty of seating. However, the Ramen was subpar. The noodles were phenomenal but the egg was dry and extremely cold, and the pork was so dry and visually unappealing. They have a very limited menu compared to what you see in other reviews.

Great pho, just go early cause the beef runs out fast. I had the chicken to go and broth was packed separately, exceptional!

An excellent Japanese food option in downtown Bismarck. This is a surprisingly good Japanese restaurant. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and Spareribs. The Shoyu Ramen has a deeply flavorful broth. The pork slices were well executed and generous in serving size. The scallions were fresh. The half egg was creamy and flavorful. The noodles were excellent, both springy and chewy. I also tried the spareribs which are apparently a house specialty. The ribs were tender and extremely flavorful. They had a great balance of fat and protein. The saucing is well done, sweet and uniquely aromatic with clove and anise along with sweet BBQ flavors.

Amazing food and hospitality. We made a short road trip to Bismarck and we were craving some Asian dishes. Noodlezip is a small place but don't let its size fool you. This restaurant gives food that is full of flavor and love. We first split the pork buns as an appetizer, delicious and not your usual fatty, pork belly piece, very tasty. For drinks I ordered the Korean ginger cinnamon tea, reminded me of the tea my mother use to make, my fiancé opted for the sake shot, which is poured and overfilled into another block shot, almost like a two for one deal. For dinner I ordered the spicy galbi chicken, one of my favorite dishes I use to order in Korea, excited to try it here. My fiancé ordered the beef udon soup. Spicy chicken galbi came with banchan and rice, flavor was perfect, only thing I would add is more rice cakes! Udon beef soup was flavorful and perfect for the cold weather. We can't wait to make a trip back when we are craving some good Asian cuisine!

BEST!!!! In Bismarck in my thoughts. I love the flavor combinations, and the ribs are amazing too.

    Ramen with no pork! DELICIOUS!!

Food is AMAZE! I eat here at least once a week! The owner prepares most of the meals (probably all, but I don't like to speak in absolutes unless I'm absolutely sure). But he's awesome! It's nice to walk into a restaurant and be recognized by the owner. I always get the ramen because I'm obsessed. The veggie dumplings are good, the eggplant dish is awesome, the pho is good! If you go at peak lunch time, you'll run into a bit of a wait...but for the most part I'm seated right away. The space is really cute, the staff is pretty aeeskme and the food is just sooo delicious! Check it out. For sure!

Very disappointed. Saw on Yelp that this place has 4.5 starts so I decided to try it out. It was totally over priced for less than acceptable food. Taiwanese milk tea is very diluted with very unfresh boba... Two starts is for the friendly staff. Otherwise this place only deserves 0 starts.

It's happened time and time again - the most recent being just last month, when on the road finishing out visiting all 50 US States. ND was my 50th. Anyway, while in Bismarck, stopped off at Landers and had a great experience. It was a simple lunch - An Italian sub and a cup of soup. Tossed in chips and a salad too. Getting ahead of myself. It's in the building of a gas station. One side is the convenience store the other is Landers. Counter where your food is made to order and seating. It's not table service - walk up to the counter, order and find a seat. Your food will be brought to you. When you're done, head to register to pay the bill. It's not easy to capture how tasty my meal was with words. But as I've said a countless number of times, if our tastes align, you'll love this place. Everything from the bun, to the soup and chips. I devoured it all leaving the salad for my friend. I especially enjoyed how the sub's ingredients were evenly loaded. Had a taste of it all in every bite. Unlike other experiences where it's all lettuce or the sauce is overpowering. The chips weren't too greasy or salty and the soup was just tied everything together. Obviously I'm not a regular but I know if I lived in the area, I would be and then some. Definitely the duke. If you're in the area, it's definitely a must.

Also the hours are 10am-3pm, which are much shorter than the gas station hours (I only know because I came back the next day lol). The deli has everything made to order so it's as fresh as it gets! I ordered a half sammy and soup combo ($13.99) w/ fountain drink, as well as a salad entree because I couldn't decide what to order. They brought the food to me at the table and quickly realized that it was way too much food. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it all. The sandwich bread had a nice chew to it and the ratio of all the ingredients were well balanced. As for the soup it was flavorful, not too salty, and just made me feel all warm inside. I really liked the micro greens in the salad as well as the slices of fresh avocado. While it's located inside a gas station, it really acts like an independent deli shop that has a good steady flow of customers. I wish we had a shop like this back home because I would definitely be a regular!

For a small restaurant, they also have an impressive wine selection. We started with the garlic bread, hot olives, and meatballs -- all of which were flavorful, balanced, and absolutely delicious. For entrées, our table had the breaded walleye, the Bolognese pasta, and the Porchetta. The walleye and Bolognese were outstanding, but unfortunately the Porchetta was a big letdown. The skin was chewy rather than crisp, with a thick layer of unrendered fat beneath it, and most concerning, it still had visible pig hair. I was expecting the classic combination of crackling skin, melting fat, and tender pork, but instead it was oddly undercooked on the outside, dry inside, and after biting into hair, I really lost my appetite for it. We finished with tiramisu and a torte, and both desserts were excellent -- a strong way to end the meal. Overall, Anima Cucina has a lot going for it: charming atmosphere, friendly staff, great starters, and standout entrées (other than the Porchetta). I'd happily return for the appetizers, pasta, fish, and desserts, but I'd avoid the Porchetta based on my experience.

Not unlike when grandma decorated her house in 1973 and never changed a thing. It is not bad or anything, it is just maybe not a great backdrop for poorly executed over priced food. Service was great, like most places in Bismarck, people are friendly. I love that. Saturday night around 6:30 there was no wait and we got to a table right away. Drinks were good, but the fresh bread they brought out was great! We started with the bone marrow appetizer, we liked it. It could have used a bit more seasoning and would have greatly benefited from a lemon wedge to balance the richness. I ordered the New York strip with Jack Daniels peppercorn sauce, and this is where the real problems started. The steak was way overcooked and under seasoned. The sauce had almost no flavor at all. The chewy peppercorns were the most entertaining part of the whole dish. I had planned to just eat it and not make a fuss; however, our server noticed the steak was overdone and offered to get me a new one. I said sure, thanks. No more than five minutes he pops back with a new steak. He told us that this one was ready but the other order was waiting on their pasta so they would fire a new one for the other table. I cut into the new one and it was more overdone than the first one. Now we have a bit of a situation and I felt somehow it was my place to solve it. I agreed to eat the new bad steak, so the other table could get one and we were both not having dinner. Quite the kerfuffle, when I had intended to just eat the first steak. When it was all said and done, I ate about half the new steak and a quarter of the first one, so it is not like I went hungry. The server came back and explained they were having some technical issues with kitchen thermometers and that he was going to take some of the price of the steak off our ticket. I feel this was a mistake. A gift card to give them another try or comping the whole steak would have been more appropriate. In all fairness though, the broken thermometer was not at fault for flavorless sauce, or the in seasoned steak.

The ambiance is that of a traditional upscale restaurant, with (most) patrons dressing in their Sunday best. Our kids enjoyed their food off the kids menu. We ordered a lobster bisque, Caesar salad, and crab cakes for starters. The lobster bisque was very, very bland--even for me! And I never add salt to anything, not even to most of my cooking lol! My husband was dousing it constantly. Unfortunately, even with all the added salt, it was tasteless. The crab cakes were ok, and the Caesar salad was standard. I ordered the pecan-crusted walleye for myself--it seemed a bit overcooked and I ended up eating only half. We tried chocolate cake for dessert and it was also just ok, a bit dry and also bland, surprisingly. I hate to give this place a lower rating because it's hard enough as it is to come by a fanciful restaurant in such a small town.
