Spring Cold Noodle (3P). Kale, carrots, beef. Ask extra garlic. Scrummy refreshing!! 8.2.26
Will S.

Old Town, Pasadena Super fun and comfortable Korean noodle and rice dishes place. It advertises itself as an Asian fusion noodle restaurant. Most of the dishes are Korean and Korean spiced versions however so be prepared. I expected the food to be much spicier and more pungent. They are not -- they are modernized slightly lighter versions of Korean noodle dishes. I'm addicted to the cold noodle salad with kale, carrots, and you can ask for it with tofu as I'm not eating beef for the next six months due to the beef recalls nowadays. Love the modern simple setup. There is a crew of chefs in the back cooking behind the glass. The staff are attentive and they take Apple Pay. I cannot believe the prices here. They are very reasonable. Why go to a fast food restaurant? End of Yelp.

Chicken Spicy Wontons (3P)
Joshua T.

Saw this on Yelp and came to try it while in Pasadena. It's very bright inside and the servers are friendly and welcoming. I sat and ordered straight away. It did take a moment for the food to come out but it appears they make the food as ordered instead of pre-made which is nice. They even bring a little bib which I found entertaining but also nice to keep clothes clean from splashes of soup. The meal was delicious and well seasoned but I will say, I ordered the spicy version of the chicken wonton and would have liked them more spicy. That's my only complaint but it is very much personal preference and isn't a reflection of the food because again, delicious.

Szechuan restaurant in Pasadena. Got the spicy beef noodle soup with knife cut noodles. Loved the noodle texture you can see them hand pulling them in the kitchen, beef wasn't super tender and could do without the kale in the soup but broth was tasty. Garlic string beans were good, service was fast despite it being really busy during lunch time on a Sunday!

Stumbled upon this place while trying to go to a nearby cafe down the block. My husband loves noodles and this was a happy gem that we found. The staff was nice and the noodles was delicious! Wontons were perfect for this nice day. It's a small cozy place with a glass to see the kitchen! We loved everything we order and we will be back for more!

Egg with Tomato Noodle (3P)

Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her office near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.

Signature Beef Noodle Soup (3P)

I had the beef noodle soup and it was pretty good. Generally, I cannot tell the difference between freshly made and regular noodles most of the time, but not here. I would describe the noodles tasting (not texture) kind of doughy, but in a good way. The broth was rich and enjoyable too. My only complaint is that they could add more meat, as it was only a few thin slices of beef. So even from just a nutrition perspective I would hesitate getting it again just because it's not nearly enough protein for a full meal in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it though, I do recommend trying if you are into noodles

Quick service and really good broth. I got the knife cut noodles but next time I would try the thinner ones. The spicy version has a fun kick to it, and is very flavorful.

Sleek, clean interior

Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this small chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

Korean beef
Camille R.

I've been to Noodle St before, but not this location. I usually get dan dan noodles but today I decided to try the Korean beef. They had just opened and I was seated promptly. It was nice and cool inside. The see-through glass in the back allows you to see the cooks make the noodles by hand. So when I got my dish, after the first taste, I was underwhelmed. There was a large rice to meat ratio, but the meat, which I was hoping to be tender, was strangely falling apart in my mouth. My mom overcooks meat alot and it feels like it disintegrates in your mouth as you eat it. And this felt exactly like that. It was very feeble. For the price, I was hoping for a little more quality meat. I was surprised as this restaurant is known for high quality dishes. I think I'm going to stick with the noodle dishes from now on.

Scallion pancakes
Emily T.

As the name of this place would suggest, this restaurant has great noodles! I ordered the savory braised chicken noodle ($15.80) and scallion pancakes ($7.80). The noodles came with plenty of chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and of course, knife-cut, hand-pulled noodles. The dish had quite a kick. They went heavy on the Szechuan peppercorn, and my mouth was tingling during all of dinner! The chicken was tender, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy. But in my opinion, there were just too many onions! I felt like I had to dig through onions to find the noodles. The scallion pancakes were delicious. They came out hot and perfectly crispy. The service was also great. The staff was friendly and kept my glass of water full.

Signature Beef Noodle
Kaya H.

Solid place that I would absolutely go to again and try something new. The place is bright, open, clean, and a decent size inside. Service is fairly quick (have to be to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out) and friendly enough. The food (outside of mine) was very tasty and had a decent selection size. Great flavor and very fresh. Mine (seasonal veggie) was very underwhelming. The taste, compared to everything else, was mid. It needed salt or some other seasonings. I ended up adding chili to it, which helped, but not much, which made me think salt was the missing factor. Not sure how that happened because the other soup, and my friends braised chicken noodles, tasted absolutely perfect. If anything, the other dishes were super bold with their flavors. I love that you can pick different handmade noodles. They were so good. A little chewy and cooked well.

Beef Roll Pancake (3P)
Agnes N.

My friends and I decided to try this place out after reading the wonderful reviews & seeing the pictures of their dishes. I was also craving soup so this was the perfect option! We ordered their chicken wings, garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, & beef scallion roll. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, which I appreciated since I was starving. The soup was packed with so much flavor & had a generous amount of knife cut noodles. The beef rolls had a nice light flavor to it & wasn't dry at all. The garlic string beans were PACKED with garlic, which was delicious. The chicken wings were a bit dry but nonetheless still pretty good. My friends really liked their scallion pancakes & devoured them all. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. It definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food.

Rosa R.

First time here and we really liked it! Noodles are handmade and the soup broth was outstanding! Actually, the broth is the first thing I taste. Looking forward to coming back and trying the spicy beef noodle soup. The potato string shrimp was a great side dish. Love that you can see the chefs in the back, creating the noodles. Customer Service was excellent. Located in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, obviously had to park in a parking structure, this is the only bummer of eating in Pasadena, street parking is extremely limited. We will definitely be back!

It was still early so not too busy at the time. Staff was friendly and cordial. Service was decent. Lunch special menu had limited items. Their prices start from $19 and up. Just one tiny gripe, portions were small for the price. My friend ordered the Crispy Duck Salad. It came with crispy tempura-battered duck, fresh mixed sprouts and grapefruit, pine nuts and tahini topped with drizzles of blended hoisin sauce, chu hou sauce, and plum sauce. Greens were great, but duck was a tad salty for my taste. I got the Truffle Wok Seared Noodles with Scallops (lunch portion). It was recommended by our server, Cameron. Thank you for the delicious recommend! Dish came with a small bowl of intensely sour, spicy, salty, and aromatic Tom Yum soup... very good! Overall dish was amazing served with tasty wok-flavor handmade egg noodles and perfectly cooked scallops complemented with yummy mushrooms, brussels sprout leaves, and Thai basil all tossed in a dark black truffle sauce. YUM! I slurped up the noodles in a jiffy. Unfortunately, it only came with 3 medium sized scallops. I would get this again if it came with 3 more scallops and more noodles. Overall dining experience was pleasant, cozy, and delicious. Thanks Star Leaf!

After we ordered our entrées, other staff handled nearly everything: another young man refilled our water, a woman cleared our dishes, and the hostess checked on our meal. Amador's next check-in came at the end, when he asked whether we wanted the check. The hostess was attentive, and we would have preferred to direct our tip to her. Instead, our bill included a mandatory 20% gratuity, with tax applied to that charge--bringing its effective cost to approximately 22% of the food and beverage total. In my view, a mandatory charge is a service fee, regardless of whether it's labeled a "gratuity." Being required to pay it despite such inattentive service left a poor impression. One star for the service and mandatory charge.

Very clean and well decorated space. Nice AC on a hot summer day. Do note, the window seat is a little weird because you can't lean back (No back rest). I wanted something light so I got a small Tom Kha Chicken Soup and a Thai tea, which I asked to be less sweet and they obliged. The soup was very sour, which I didn't expect since it didn't say that in the menu description. I knew Tom Yum is sweet and sour but didn't expect that from a curry soup. Also, 1/3 of the soup were the spices (that you don't eat) so it felt really small of a portion after I removed those pieces. My friend gave me some of their extra rice and it was still too sour. The Thai iced tea was a little bland, probably since I asked for it to be less sweet, so I don't recommend doing that. I think less sweet also meant less milk so it wasn't very creamy. Still refreshing though. In my photo, you can see the color difference between my less sweet thai iced tea and my friend's normal one. Mine was kind of brown. His was the normal bright orange. I also tried my partner's pad Thai and normally I don't like pad Thai because it's too sweet, but this one was on the less sweet side so it was quite decent. I tried my partner's Thai Iced Coffee, which we ordered out of curiosity. She said it's basically normal coffee but more sweet. To my surprised, it was not sweet at all, like zero sugar. It tasted like a more burnt americano with a splash of milk. We were not fans. We parked about 1/2 mile away because street parking is free and we don't mind walking. Parking structure is available nearby too, for only $1 for the first 2 hours. Bathrooms are shared among three restaurants, but they are very clean.

Would totally go back, and I found out they have another Top2 location in West Covina, so I'll have to visit that one as well sometime. Parking - Lot in front.

Accidentally went there. I was looking for a car part at the O'Reilly auto parts that anchors this…read morestrip mall and decided to walk over to see the restaurant. While I was staring at the menu deciding whether I wanted to get anything, several people came and went with their orders and everyone told me to get the fried chicken. So, I went inside and got the fried chicken with macaroni salad. A few mintues later, I added a katsu musubi to the order. This is not fast-food. The wait is real. About 12 minutes. I then had probably about 10 minutes of driving before I sat down to eat. The fried chicken is delicious and has a great crispy/crunchy skin. There is a faint sweetness that coats the chicken. The meat was not super plump like some national-chain places (I think those places brine-injected the chicken). Depending on your preference, this might feel too dry to you. Their dipping sauce for the chicken is very tasty. If they just sold that in bottles, I'd come just to buy that for use at home! Speaking of preferences, the macaroni salad is also well made, but it's simple and might be disappointing if you're expecting some kind of flavor kick. I liked it very much, because it is in the style of the basic macaroni salad -- someone described it as going home to Hawaii for them -- and I think that's what it is. Portions were enough to split into two meals. So I had half of my chicken and the mac salad. I had planned to also only eat half of the musubi. But it was delicious and had a nice crunch which I'm sure would not have held up being kept in the fridge. I really enjoyed the musubi on its own, but also enjoyed taking turns with bites with that sauce added on. I stored the rest of the chicken and mac salad in the fridge and then had them for dinner 6 hours later. Despite being in the fridge, the chicken still had a bit of a crunchy bite to it - it wasn't a mushy soggy mess. Very friendly service. This is not a sit-down place you go to for a dining experience - just a solid place to get food to go that will be delicious. Now that I've had the fried chicken that everyone seems to recommend, I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.
