The key word here is smoky flavor. You can try your hand at prepping your own ribs at home, etc. but you won't get the smokiness achieved at Nomad's. I tried this recently and failed miserably. So what to order here? I liked the pulled pork even though I am not a huge fan. They pull this off very well (this might be one of their strong items actually). You can't go wrong with a full rack of ribs, dipping them in their signature bbq sauce will have you licking your fingers. You also need to have the hot links, because they are hot links. I tried the sweet corn side which paired very well with everything. I recommend calling in your order in advance as things sell out.

$13 for this tiny portion at Nomads inside isleta amphitheater

This is a review of Nomads inside of Isleta amphitheater. The food is pretty good but the portions were really small especially for $13. I had some brisket and some pulled pork. Food prices are always high at concerts so it was expected to be a little more expensive but damn put some food on the plate. The service flat out sucked. I don't know what was going on between the cashier and the cook but it certainly carried over into the way we were treated. Normally when you tell someone thank you and leave them a tip you expect some kind of acknowledgment but nothing just a spaced out stare from the young lady and a pissed off cook lol. Anyways I read great reviews about the actual restaurant and so I'll probably go in and try it out but I'm not giving them any more of my money at the concerts. Two thumbs down from me.

A hidden location, situated behind another restaurant off Rio Grande Blvd. I could not locate a sign, driving down the street, but once I turned, I saw the parking lot. It's a small building, with happy employees that are happy to serve you. I picked up a brisket sandwich and baked beans. The bun was soft and tasty. The brisket was tender and salty- the kind that makes your mouth water. Beans were flavorful. The pepper provided them some pep, along with some kind of special seasoning. The barbeque sauce also seemed home made. It was vinegar-based but it had the right amount of balance with tangy and sweet. Yelp provided the sandwich and the beans were $3. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot of meat.

This bbq is very tasty, and the servings are HUGE! We ordered Brisket sandwich and a special sandwich plate (includes a hot link and pulled pork). For the sides we chose beans and corn. Everything was delicious, and you order at a window and the staff brings everything to your car in the parking lot. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves, and the service was friendly and quick. We have the special sandwich plate to a friend, but it looked and smelled delicious. My husband and I shared the brisket sandwich, and I ate four meals from my half. The only thing I'd do differently is ask for another container of bbq sauce.

    Brisket sandwich and pineapple slaw

4.5 stars I was in the area picking up some cookies and decided to give Nomad's a call to stop by for a Yelp elite event. My parents had both wanted the smoked chicken, but was told by Theo that the weather was having an effect on cooking the chicken and it wouldn't be ready for about another hour and a half to two hours. I called him back and had gotten three of the brisket sandwiches (I was a little confused by the two different menus and different prices that were listed for the Door Dash menu vs. the menu on Yelp) and a side of the pineapple slaw to be ready in about 15 minutes. Theo and his staff were friendly. He had said he had been at this location for about 3 months. The building is a little hidden behind El Patio, so I hope they can get the advertising that they need. The one sandwich on top must've gotten tipped as it was loaded in the bag or carrying it to the car, as I wanted to take a peak at the sandwich in the car and had flipped the brisket grease on my pants and jacket. No worries and nothing a few napkins couldn't fix. I bet I would've been popular at the dog park afterwards :) The sandwiches were huge, and just the half size was perfect for my small appetite. My brisket was perfect cuts of meat with very little fat, and flavorful. The slaw was good and the pineapple was a nice touch. The great thing about Yelp is all the new places I get to try and helping support small businesses. I had never even heard of Nomad's before this (and here a friend was telling me he used to visit Nomad's all the time when he worked downtown)! 2021 #3

I stopped by here for a Yelp Elite event and was absolutely delicious. The brisket melted in my mouth and was perfect with flavor. There was also a ton of brisket in my sandwich, it was completely overfilling the bun! The corn was great too! Definitely would recommend.

Trust me, I know good BBQ and this is beyond great. Not only is the food I tried delicious, but the owner is an extremely nice person that made me feel at home the moment he saw me walking up to the ordering window. Nomads has a walk-up window where orders are placed. The menu is nothing fancy but the simplicity is perfect. They offer brisket, pulled pork, sausage, ribs, and Turkey legs served up as a sandwich or by itself. You can add on sides for a couple bucks more to make it a plate. Drink selection was extremely limited to Dr. Pepper, so it was a pass on the beverages. On this occasion, I had the pulled pork sandwich as I was told brisket was sold out. I was there relatively early, so I'm kind of perplexed. Brisket is the meat that most BBQ joints are judged on. So I was undoubtedly bummed as this restaurant is quite a drive from the nest. Orders were delivered to my car, so that was a plus. The pulled pork was really good. It came on an overly fluffy roll, which was perfect given how juicy the meat was. If not for this bread, the sandwich probably would have fell apart from being soggy. The sandwich that I ordered was huge, as in I barely finished it huge. The meat was smoked to juicy perfection with pronounced smoke taste present in every bite. Quality of food: perfect. The price was reasonable at $7 for the huge portion. Overall, I really liked this place. Super bummed that I didn't get to taste the holy grail cut of BBQ, brisket, on this occasion, but it is a place that I will give a second shot at some point. Drink menu and brisket inventory needs a bit of an upgrade, but overall I recommend Nomads.

The brisket sandwich is so good. The beans and the corn are too spicy. Not chile spicy but pepper spicy. So spicy you can't even enjoy the sandwich. Next time no corn or beans for us.

Damn good, feel good BBQ, like no other. Juicy, tender, smoked Pulled Pork is the deal people, along with the hot Sausage Links and other complementary fixings Nomads, is "KING" You have to stalk their schedule on social media to find out where they will be but rest assured when you do hunt them down, your completely hooked. Great owner with some serious BARBECUE.

We tried ordering on DoorDash well before they closed and 30 minutes later the DD driver said that they weren't accepting orders.

I must say, it was significantly better to my taste The pickles were gone, but there was still this unusual taste that I really couldn't place. It tasted almost like pickles in the background, but I'm not sure what it was. Suffice to say, the burger was very good. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. Sadly, that honor goes to Pete's Frites, and he hung it up after ruining all of us who got to try his burger masterpieces before disappearing. But I digress. No Mames treated me like I mattered. They took my opinions and wishes seriously. I am very impressed. The owner and his wife genuinely wanted me to enjoy my experience with their food, and I must say I did. Their tireless efforts to make me a happy customer are very rare, and they should be commended. I had fries this time, and they are the thin, more crispy variety, which are my favorite. I also received a Serrano sauce and a flavored oil "sauce," which I was told they serve with their chicharrones, I believe. I kinda liked it with the fries. I'm upping the rating to 5 stars, because for me, the food is a very strong 4 stars, but their customer service and care for their craft makes it an easy 5 stars. Go pay this place a visit and let them know what you think of their food. They actually listen and will make adjustments. That's a customer's dream.

Well smoked, dang flavorful BBQ from da ABQ Slow Smoked BBQ truckie dude!!…read more Brisket Sammie came loaded to toppling high with carne rich in smokiness & melt on your tongue tender texture. Hugeness of portion!!!! BBQ sauce brought a nice punchy kick to the tower o' meat sammie. Only demerit was lack of much bark on the meat in my sandwich. Buddy's sliced brisket sandwich, which was equally massive, showed *lots* of bark. So if you're a Barky BBQ Boi, sliced brisket will be your jam from ABQ Slow Smoked BBQ as opposed to the chopped brisket that seems to be the default brisket sandwich filling. BBQ beans were on par with the sandwich. Multiple varieties of beans swimming in a semi-sweet & tangy sauce. Shreds of smoked meat added their pungence to the mix. A dish that makes eating your veggies mighty tasty!! Pickled veggies, particularly the carrots, offered bright clean taste to counterbalance the pungence of the meat & beans. Hit up this mobile emporium of tastiness at Marble Heights Brewpub or anywhere else around town they might be spotted. Well worth the price of admission!

How has this food truck not been reviewed yet??…read more I'll be honest, I have been burned by bbq food trucks before. But there's just something about them that every time I see them, I have to try it. We were heading to Costco, ready to lunch on a hotdog when we saw the food truck in the parking lot (closer to the sports store). The smoker attached to truck, the charming way the menu was laid out and with two people already in line, it was calling to me. The two people in line were munching on a beef rib that I'm sure he gave to them to try during the wait. The guy closest to me...the meat looked so juicy. So I said to him "man that looks so good" and all he could muster was a shake of his head, like "you have no idea". The first guy ordered and really was insistent on paying more money...(he wanted drinks but they were included in the sandwich price so he was like, well fine then, let me buy two more waters). The guy who I talked to about the rib? When he gets to the window, he said he wanted one of everything! Yeeeees. I have a hard time not ordering nachos anytime I come across them, so I got the nachos with brisket and the picky eater got the brisket sandwich with coleslaw for the side. When he took a bite, he said it was "damn good." Pretty good review from the picky eater. The sandwich also came with pickles, and pickled onions, carrots and a jalapeño, all of which were amazing. Perfectly crunchy and sour. The nachos were great, made even better by the pickled veggies (cause I stole those from him). And the bbq sauce with the brisket was just perfect. We stood in the line under the hot sun and it was tooooootally worth it. I overheard him tell one of the customers that he tries to get out to that spot at least twice a week.
