Lillian is amazing!!! I could end my review there but don't worry I'll go more into detail! There's plenty of parking which is a huge plus! And it's located on the second floor and you have to go to an intercom thing to ring the place and they buzz you in. It is very secure... not anyone can roam around the second floor which I appreciate! I had my first appointment with her today and she made me feel so comfortable! I started my appointment a little early because she was ready and it maybe took 20 minutes total! This was my first time getting sugaring done for a Brazilian. I've done the at home wax machine but that takes like 2 hours and is the most painful thing ever since you're basically inflicting pain on yourself. I don't know why I didn't start coming here sooner! She makes you feel very comfortable and kind of talks to you while she's doing it so you almost forget what she's doing! Yes it was painful but she makes the whole experience pleasant! I am so excited that my gf told me about this place and to be honest it was quite a peaceful break from my busy work day! read more

Came here because I was about to go on a trip and my normal wax lady is out on maternity leave. I had no idea what "sugaring" was, but after reading her website, I decided to give it a try. Also, she had an available spot open for me the next day of being in contact with her! Lillian is awesome! She explained exactly what the process was and what she was doing while "sugaring" me. She said that all the products are made of natural ingredients and that the process of sugaring was less painful than waxing. Supposedly the hair grows back lighter and eventually with some maintenance, it doesn't grow back at all! Also, the TV is up high so you can take your mind off of the task at hand. She gets down! hahaha It can be a little uncomfortable at first but she's good at what she does and tries to make you feel as comfortable as possible by talking to you the whole time. I'm so used to waxing so this sugaring thing, wasn't bad at all. She's still pulling out the hairs, however, it's less stressful on your skin. Also, it's cheaper than most spa's that do brazlian waxing. Can't wait to go back to see her again. Don't let the location fool you. The inside of her studio is private and smells nice too. I had an exceptional experience with Lillian! Can't wait to get sugared again! haha read more

Renae is AMAZING! I'm so fortunate to have found 2 talented women in one studio. Your lashes & brows will look fabulous after you visit these ladies at Nohea. Renae was so patient with me when I first visited her. I prefer having a very natural look, so I was hesitant about extensions, the length of the lashes and even the extent of the curl. Renae, however, was very patient with me and talked me through every option I had with the lashes. She continually let me peak at the progress of our session making sure that the length and amount of the lashes were ok for my comfort level. I have seen her about 5 times now and have been loving each and every session with her. She is always punctual and easy to talk to. She even brought in mink lashes and I'm absolutely in LOVE with them. Mink lashes look just like your natural lashes and feels so incredibly soft. You can see many pictures on her Instagram renae_envslashes ......that's how I found her! 808-741-2363 Free parking & right by downtown...she's the best eyelash read more

Nohea Studio - Renae is SO extremely talented! I feel like a million bucks :) thank you!!!!!!! - Waxing Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

If I could give ten stars. I would. // I've been going to Lilian for a couple of years now and I am never going to anyone else. It honestly is quite hard to find someone who makes you feel comfortable while they're in your "business" but Lilian makes it so easy. Each visit feels like you're actually catching up with a friend! Lilian is great with scheduling. Texting her is much easier to book an appointment rather than calling since her hands are hardly ever free. Her schedule gets pretty booked but she always makes sure to have time slots available for her returning clients. So what're you waiting for?! Book an appointment! You won't regret it. BTW: She does take Debit and Credit Cards as forms of payment but an additional fee is added on so it's better to pay with cash! read more

Was looking for another place to get a Brazilian because the usual person I go to was on a vacation. As I perused on Yelp, I found Nohea Studio and read all the reviews and was intrigued about "sugaring." YouTubed it and wanted to try it - the plus side to it was that I read that Lillian was offering 50% off for your first visit. I was able to acquire an appointment with Lillian through text. The place was not hard to find. Went on a Saturday and the parking was close to almost packed. Lillian took the time to explain what sugaring was, what type of ingredients were in it, why it was beneficial / better than your regular hot / hard wax. I am not going to lie, it was slightly painful considering the sugar wax was not warm and the worst part was when the wax was being applied against the hair. Other than that, it was a piece of cake! It was a lot quicker than I expected AND Lillian made sure she did not leave any strays. It was been about 3 days since and I have been fine. I usually start to get itchy and uncomfortable around this time, but so far NOTHING!!! Sugaring is wonderful! Every positive review was spot on! Lillian was amazing! Customer service was great, she has such a warm personality and just made me feel so comfortable. On top of that, she sent me a text yesterday following up on how everything was. I will definitely will be back! read more

Look no further! Need a bikini wax? Sugaring? Lillian is your girl! I had the BEST experience at Nohea Studio (I called/text at least 5 friends when I left... I was that excited)! Lillian was so much fun, it was like hanging out with a best friend. She is very professional and knowledgeable on waxing/sugaring! I couldn't decide between a normal wax or sugaring, but once she explained the process I went with sugaring! It was virtually pain free and looks/feels great! She also has the cutest studio - very CLEAN and organized. Trust me girls... quit torturing yourself with a standard wax job and visit Lillian! read more

I am so excited to have found these wonderful ladies! Renae, who does eyelashes extensions, and Lillian, who does waxing/sugaring, are some of the nicest people ever!! I first found Renae through Instagram and after looking at the pictures of her work, I decided to text her just to ask a few questions. I had had a few bad eyelash extension experiences in the past and I was feeling very hesitant on doing it again. Well a few questions turned into a full on conversation! Renae answered all of my questions and gave me so much information, she even told me "even if you don't come to me and you have any questions just ask!" I mean how nice is that! So I set up my appointment, she texts back fast! And their studio is soooo adorable. I'm a sucker for cute spaces and theirs is very cute. Anyway, Renae walked me through the process, she even held up lashes of different lengths and curls to see what I would like best since I'm so indecisive. The whole process was painless, I was falling asleep! End result? I sat up, looked in the mirror, and literally went "wow!!" They have held up great and I still use eyeshadow and eyeliner with them. I get sooo many compliments on them! I couldn't recommend Renae enough! Then after I was done, Lillian came over and was talking to me about sugaring and how she's having a promo right now where your first service is 50% off! I asked her if she would be able to squeeze me in to wax my underarms, because they were pretty scary! And she said yes! Sugaring is so much better for you than regular waxing, but I know she does still do regular waxing if that's what you want. I'm sold on sugaring though, normally with shaving or waxing my underarms get very irritated because my skin is so sensitive, but I didn't experience that with sugaring! Also, I came back a few weeks later to do my eyebrows and my boyfriend did his too and we both came out looking fab! She even used some of the sugar to exfoliate my nose! Just go see them! You definitely won't regret it!! read more

Love this place and Lillian is so sweet! First of all you can txt for an appointment! Then you can avoid having to make that call at work saying you need a braziallian! I showed up for my wax greeted by Lillian. She's full of joy and you can tell she really loves her job. I inquired about the sugaring technique and she said first timers get 50% to try it out! And I did! Loved my wax . this will be my go to place for waxes from now on! Thanks Lillian ! read more

Waxers convert! Waxing just wasn't working for me anymore...I knew there just had to be something else...something better out there....I'm officially a convert from waxing to sugaring! Trusting fellow yelpers, I sought out to find the best "sugar-er" out there...and I found her!!! Lillian is awesome. She is so friendly and makes you feel at ease throughout the process of getting all those nasty hairs out from you-know-where. Lillian is a master of her practice, answering any questions you may have about sugaring and using quality products for getting the job done. Sugaring has turned out to be way less expensive than waxing- both from initial cost (first sugar-ing) and for maintenance! Hairs grow back thinner than waxing and hair growth is slowed dramatically. I have little-to-no irritation to the skin, so it's left softer, smoother, and less sensitive after the process. As for pain, I have been waxing for quite some time now, so I hardly notice the sensation of the hairs coming out. With sugaring, I don't feel the pull of my skin when the hair is removed, which makes the process almost painless to me. I'm not sure how first-timers feel about the pain, but if you can handle waxing...sugaring is a breeze! I've had no trouble booking appts with Lillian, she is flexible and easy to get hold of via text message (which I love!). The waxing room has a comfortable table to lie on- with a TV mounted on the wall (great idea!) which is perfect if you need to be distracted during the sugaring process. Her shop is easy to access as you come up Nuuanu ave, it's on your right above Papa Johns. There is free parking and I always find a stall, no problem. :-) read more

I've been going to Lilian at NOHEA Studio for more than two years now. The quality of the service has always been high standard. Always very clean and comfortable. Lilian treats her clients very special, she remembers what you talked last time and she's very caring. In all this time she has never cancel any appointment and she's always on time. I go every month to get my legs wax and my face. Since I use wax for years now, I barely get hair in my legs. And I love how my face looks after the sugaring. I recommend it to everyone! It's a great location in Vineyard and Nuuanu, but the car entrence is by Nuuanu. There's always costumer parking. By appointment only. She does better with text messages than calling. read more

For someone with highly sensitive skin, I always break out in hives after a waxing session. And in comes my discovery of sugaring! I was tired of having to put up with hives and itching, then later breakouts from areas I had gotten waxed and needed a different option. I have been seeing Lilian exclusively for almost a year now for all my sugaring needs. She is a total sweet heart with an amazing sense of humor. She always makes me feel comfortable when I'm getting my lady parts done. She's very personable and can strike up a conversation on just about anything! Her work area is very clean and decor is cute/minimalist. She also has the TV playing for extra distraction if needed! Sugaring is definitely less painful compared to waxing and my hair has grown in thinner and more sparse. Yay! Also nice to not have darkly pigmented underarms anymore. Thank youu Lillian! read more

Ok so I LOVE the results from getting waxed but I have ZERO pain tolerance so its excruciating when I have "start over."... But when I found this studio on yelp I immediately contacted Lillian to make an apt. Its a little tricky that they aren't open on weekends because I work full time and live in Pearl City but their reviews were enough for me to find a way to make it work. The area is familiar to me because its where I grew up and although the parking lot is small, its not a busy area so you should be able to find parking there or on the street. The studio is small and divided by sliding doors but its clean and very comfortable feeling. Then Lillian comes out with such a bright welcoming smile and I instantly was like "yep I like her" :) Shes awesome. She walked me through the whole thing and told me to get this spray to help with the pain lol because I'm definitely a wuss. Shes also really quick! I was in and out of there in less than 30 min. She doesn't really stop during the process but I'm the type that kinda prefers to just bang it out and be done with it. I had to make my next apt before I left :) There aren't many people who do surgaring here so I'm glad I found someone I really like. The process may be a bit more painful than waxing but I promise you the results are a million times better!! My hair is fine and soft when it grows back which takes 3 weeks to even be at an unbearable length!! Please go check her out!! You wont regret it. :D read more

Nohea Studio is located off the corner of Bishop and Vineyard. There is free parking on the lot. It is on the second floor of the building. The studio is very clean and cozy. The studio itself doesn't have itsown restroom but she gives you a key for one around the corner of the building and it's clean. It is VERY difficult to find a good waxing/sugaring place, let alone someone you like and trust for that unwanted hair removal! Lillian is nothing short of amazing. This was my first time getting "sugared" and I will probably never go back to waxing. I was just going to get my underarms done, but we started discussing a bikini procedure and before you know it, it's all done! I had tried to get waxed down there before and it was just too painful for me. Lillian made me feel at ease and I trusted her right away. I am so glad I found her! If you need hair removal done, she's definitely your girl! I scheduled for my next appointment before I even left! She's very good at what she does so I know her appointment book fills up fast and I wanted to keep coming back for future maintenance. Thank you Lillian! You're awesome! read more

For about half a year now, Lillian has been my girl! And will continue to be! No matter where you go, the whole waxing/sugaring process will always be on the painful side (price of beauty!) but trust me when I say that I wouldn't go to anyone else. She's quick, but thorough and a complete sweetheart. Even booking an appointment is on the easier side since she allows you to text her and schedule it! Also her products are alllll natural which I LOVE! You can rest assured that Lillian knows what she is doing. I'll always be a regular here at Nohea! read more

I've been coming to Lillian before I moved to Hilo and still coming after moving back to Honolulu. She's so down-to-Earth and amazing! Comfort and precision must be her motto. She is efficient at what she does that it's like I'm in and out in under 30 minutes for a Brazilian. The prices here are affordable :) By appointment only so book in advance. Thanks Lillian, I'll keep coming back! read more

I've been getting all my waxes done by Lillian for about 2 years now. Love that she is very FAST! She is not sloppy at all. She treats her clients well and knows what she is doing. I trust her every time I go in. There's no need to call, you can just text her when you want to come in and what to get done for your next appointment. She'll definitely respond and let you know when she is ready for if you want to come in immediately. The services are very affordable. Ample parking and near downtown area which is perfect because I'm such a townie that hate finding parking! Highly recommend and will always always be coming back! read more

Best sugaring salon ever on the island!! Lillian is so friendly and nice!!! Love this salon!!! She's fast and makes you feel very comfortable while she's sugaring. Definitely recommend to all the girls who had a bad experience with regular waxing. It will change your whole perspective on waxing, and more you sugaring, less hair you get!!!! Go make an appointment with Lilian!!! read more

Lillian is the BEST EVER!!!! She is meticulous, and makes you feel so comfortable. And she is so funny!!! I will not go to anyone else for waxing. I had seen her for years, and then moved to the mainland. I visit Hawaii once a year and she is my first stop before I get into a bathing suit or shorts!!!!!! I would give her 100 stars if it were an option. I miss her terribly, but we I will see her this winter!!!! read more

Nohea Studio - Love these lashes - Waxing Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Just got back from an appointment with Lillian about an hour ago! The location isn't great. it's on the corner of Nuuanu and Vineyard so it's a busy area! But this review isn't about the location. It's about my first Brazilian experience! I was more nervous about getting a Brazillian than I was about getting any of my tattoos. People are always talking about how BAD it hurts and how weird it is to get a Brazilian wax. Lillian made it as painless as possible and like Sofie said, it's like hanging out with a friend! It didn't feel weird to have her yankin' and pullin' and pushin'...and yah. Anyways, I decided to go with sugaring because it's natural! It's not fiery hot and it feels good! Her space itself is very homey and welcoming. Just take a seat and wait while she preps a bed, your pillows, and the television for you! read more

After a terrible first-experience with waxing, I've shied away from professional hair removal for years. Found Lillian by recommendation and was so impressed with her professionalism, ability to put me at ease, and swiftness. She specializes in "sugaring"--a waxing alternative I found exponentially better than waxing. I was in and out in under 20 minutes; and with a location downtown, and right off the freeway, the location is excellent as well. Available by appointment only! read more

I swear to you, Lillian is the only person I see to do my eyebrows now. I've been to her twice before & I absolutely loved it. I recommend her to all my friends & family! Lillian is the sweetest, most personable lady ever & incredibly professional. I love that every time I go in she always makes me feel so welcome :) Usually when I would get my eyebrows done, the ladies would complain I have too bushy eyebrows but in Lilian's point of view (& also mine) it's better to have more hair than like one strand on each side (which is what I see a lot of women with nowadays.) Lol! Sugaring in my opinion is a lot less painful & it doesn't turn my skin as red as it usually would with wax. Lillian is my go to & she should be yours too! Love it! read more

First timer today at Nohea Studios..did some sugaring and met Lillian. What a great person, made me feel comfortable with a great BIG smile. She was very professional, very friendly and even did some careful plucking to complete the sugaring. I made my next appointment already so you must know she is good at what she does. Awesome, painless, and very enjoyable conversation!! read more

Just tried sugaring for the first time. Got a brazilian and underarms done and I was amazed at how quick, clean, and as painless as possible it was. After this experience, I will not go back to waxing. I have somewhat sensitive skin and I've been burned while waxing. Sugaring was great because there was no oppressive heat involved and my skin wasn't being yanked..rather only hair and dead skin cells were removed. Lillian was fabulous! Extremely personable and reassuring throughout the entire process. I will definitely be back in 4-6 weeks! read more

Lillian is so wonderful as a person and as a knowledgeable aesthetician. If you want to get a brazilian wax you must go to her and she does sugaring as well, which is natural and less painful. I was super nervous for getting my first brazilian and she made it very comfortable. The space she works in makes you feel cozy and you can watch TV at the same time plus she's very easy to talk to. She's very accommodating when it comes to making appointments where you can text her. There's always parking available at the location. I suggest taking ibuprofen before your wax. Make sure you go to Nohea Studio for your waxing needs! You won't want to shave again especially because she has a loyalty stamp card. read more

Lillian is very welcoming. I found out about this place from yelp and glad I did. Ive been getting brazillians and enjoyed it here. I love that its natural! Her pricing is awesome! Second time sugaring and still on a streak of superb sugaring experts. This place is on the second floor on the corner of nu'uanu and vineyard and also has a lash studio nearby. She was friendly, discussed the procedure, the benefits, and how to prevent in-grown hairs. Super fast, meticulous, and spent the extra time to clean up any stranding ones. 65 for first time and 45 after that. Throw down the towel ladies, Niger studio is a winner! read more

I started off waxing a couple years ago but hadn't for a while because I started getting laser hair removal treatments. Well, the place I was going to for laser hair removal I had bought deals off groupon but they only had appointments available at times that were too far off from the date you're supposed to return. For example, you're supposed to go in every 6 weeks but they would either schedule me during period week, which they won't treat you while you're menstruating, or they would only have availabilities WEEKS after you were due to return so the treatments weren't helping any because I was going too long in between. Needless to say, I just stopped going after the 4th of my 6 treatments I had already bought because it just was not working. I started looking into waxing again and read about SUGARING so thought I would give it a try. I found this place on yelp and figured I would give it a go since it has such high reviews. 1st: If this is your first time trying sugaring here, it is HALF off. $32 for a brazilian. Yeah, wow! 2nd: It is a little more painful than laser hair removal but NOT as painful as waxing. Plus Lillian is so good at distracting you with conversation or there is a TV in the room if you'd rather watch it. 3rd: She has a PUNCH CARD! Buy 4 treatments, get the 5th FREE. Overall, my experience here was amazing. My skin is sensitive but I walked out of this place with no lingering pain or stickiness that comes with waxing. Plus, Lillian took the time to pluck the straggler hairs that were too short to be caught by the sugar mixture. She took the time to make sure it was exactly what I asked for. It's just a cute little shop that provides service like a booming business. Between the friendliness, comfort, and the quality of service (the cleanest brazilian ever), I recommend this place to anyone. read more

First off I have to say that if you are still getting waxed you need to stop that now....seriously just stop it! Sugaring is so much better, less painful, easier on your skin, and I think the results are much better than wax. Who wants a bunch of chemicals when sugaring is better for you and the earth. Second, Nohea studio is comfortable, clean and unassuming. They even have a TV for you to watch while getting your services! Finally Lillian is the best! She is friendly, professional and makes you feel comfortable, while doing something that makes many people feel awkward. I would recommend Lillian to anyone that has never tried sugaring or someone that has been doing it for a while. Her prices are very reasonable and the service is a very VERY good value. read more

I have done waxing in the past & to be honest not a huge fan! But when I heard about Lillian & how she uses sugaring instead of waxing I was interested to try it. At first I was nervous because I am a very shy person and tend not to talk that much when I meet new people. However, Lillian was so kind & very funny that I found it really easy to talk to her during the sugaring session. After my session was over my legs were so smoothed & hairless!!! I already scheduled my next appointment with her to get the Brazilian! If you're thinking about getting your hair removed go to Lillian! She is the best & will welcome you! read more

Lillian is literally the best person to go to when you need to get a Brazilian done! Hands down! I've been getting waxed for about a year now, then when my usual lady was out when I was in desperate need for a wax, I found Lillian... And I couldn't be any happier! It was my first time going through the sugaring process since the lady I usually go to uses hard wax. Lillian was so sweet and she walks you through the process. Of course pulling hair out of its roots would hurt, but damn... Lillian must be doing something magical because that was the least painful experience ever. Like... What is pain? She really does a great job! So if you're looking someone who doesn't make you feel awkward, knows what they're doing and long lasting results, go see Lillian! Plus, it's really convenient because you can text her! I even have my two roommates going to her now and they're in love! read more
