And it's located on the second floor and you have to go to an intercom thing to ring the place and they buzz you in. It is very secure... not anyone can roam around the second floor which I appreciate! I had my first appointment with her today and she made me feel so comfortable! I started my appointment a little early because she was ready and it maybe took 20 minutes total! This was my first time getting sugaring done for a Brazilian. I've done the at home wax machine but that takes like 2 hours and is the most painful thing ever since you're basically inflicting pain on yourself. Came here because I was about to go on a trip and my normal wax lady is out on maternity leave. I had no idea what "sugaring" was, but after reading her website, I decided to give it a try. Also, she had an available spot open for me the next day of being in contact with her! Lillian is awesome! She explained exactly what the process was and what she was doing while "sugaring" me. She said that all the products are made of natural ingredients and that the process of sugaring was less painful than waxing. Supposedly the hair grows back lighter and eventually with some maintenance, it doesn't grow back at all! Also, the TV is up high so you can take your mind off of the task at hand. She gets down! hahaha It can be a little uncomfortable at first but she's good at what she does and tries to make you feel as comfortable as possible by talking to you the whole time. I'm so used to waxing so this sugaring thing, wasn't bad at all. She's still pulling out the hairs, however, it's less stressful on your skin. Renae was so patient with me when I first visited her. I prefer having a very natural look, so I was hesitant about extensions, the length of the lashes and even the extent of the curl. Renae, however, was very patient with me and talked me through every option I had with the lashes. Was looking for another place to get a Brazilian because the usual person I go to was on a vacation. As I perused on Yelp, I found Nohea Studio and read all the reviews and was intrigued about "sugaring." YouTubed it and wanted to try it - the plus side to it was that I read that Lillian was offering 50% off for your first visit. I was able to acquire an appointment with Lillian through text. The place was not hard to find. Went on a Saturday and the parking was close to almost packed. Lillian took the time to explain what sugaring was, what type of ingredients were in it, why it was beneficial / better than your regular hot / hard wax. I am not going to lie, it was slightly painful considering the sugar wax was not warm and the worst part was when the wax was being applied against the hair. Other than that, it was a piece of cake! It was a lot quicker than I expected AND Lillian made sure she did not leave any strays. It was been about 3 days since and I have been fine. I am so excited to have found these wonderful ladies! Renae, who does eyelashes extensions, and Lillian, who does waxing/sugaring, are some of the nicest people ever!! I first found Renae through Instagram and after looking at the pictures of her work, I decided to text her just to ask a few questions. I had had a few bad eyelash extension experiences in the past and I was feeling very hesitant on doing it again. Well a few questions turned into a full on conversation! Renae answered all of my questions and gave me so much information, she even told me "even if you don't come to me and you have any questions just ask!" I mean how nice is that! So I set up my appointment, she texts back fast! And their studio is soooo adorable. I'm a sucker for cute spaces and theirs is very cute. Anyway, Renae walked me through the process, she even held up lashes of different lengths and curls to see what I would like best since I'm so indecisive. The whole process was painless, I was falling asleep! End result? I sat up, looked in the mirror, and literally went "wow!!" They have held up great and I still use eyeshadow and eyeliner with them. I get sooo many compliments on them! I couldn't recommend Renae enough! Then after I was done, Lillian came over and was talking to me about sugaring and how she's having a promo right now where your first service is 50% off! I asked her if she would be able to squeeze me in to wax my underarms, because they were pretty scary! And she said yes! Sugaring is so much better for you than regular waxing, but I know she does still do regular waxing if that's what you want. I'm sold on sugaring though, normally with shaving or waxing my underarms get very irritated because my skin is so sensitive, but I didn't experience that with sugaring! Waxers convert! Waxing just wasn't working for me anymore...I knew there just had to be something else...something better out there....I'm officially a convert from waxing to sugaring! Trusting fellow yelpers, I sought out to find the best "sugar-er" out there...and I found her!!! Lillian is awesome. She is so friendly and makes you feel at ease throughout the process of getting all those nasty hairs out from you-know-where. Lillian is a master of her practice, answering any questions you may have about sugaring and using quality products for getting the job done. Sugaring has turned out to be way less expensive than waxing- both from initial cost (first sugar-ing) and for maintenance! Hairs grow back thinner than waxing and hair growth is slowed dramatically. I have little-to-no irritation to the skin, so it's left softer, smoother, and less sensitive after the process. As for pain, I have been waxing for quite some time now, so I hardly notice the sensation of the hairs coming out. With sugaring, I don't feel the pull of my skin when the hair is removed, which makes the process almost painless to me. I'm not sure how first-timers feel about the pain, but if you can handle waxing...sugaring is a breeze! I've had no trouble booking appts with Lillian, she is flexible and easy to get hold of via text message (which I love!). The waxing room has a comfortable table to lie on- with a TV mounted on the wall (great idea!) which is perfect if you need to be distracted during the sugaring process. Ok so I LOVE the results from getting waxed but I have ZERO pain tolerance so its excruciating when I have "start over."... But when I found this studio on yelp I immediately contacted Lillian to make an apt. Its a little tricky that they aren't open on weekends because I work full time and live in Pearl City but their reviews were enough for me to find a way to make it work. The area is familiar to me because its where I grew up and although the parking lot is small, its not a busy area so you should be able to find parking there or on the street. The studio is small and divided by sliding doors but its clean and very comfortable feeling. Then Lillian comes out with such a bright welcoming smile and I instantly was like "yep I like her" :) Shes awesome. She walked me through the whole thing and told me to get this spray to help with the pain lol because I'm definitely a wuss. Shes also really quick! I was in and out of there in less than 30 min. She doesn't really stop during the process but I'm the type that kinda prefers to just bang it out and be done with it. I had to make my next apt before I left :) There aren't many people who do surgaring here so I'm glad I found someone I really like. The process may be a bit more painful than waxing but I promise you the results are a million times better!! For someone with highly sensitive skin, I always break out in hives after a waxing session. And in comes my discovery of sugaring! Nohea Studio is located off the corner of Bishop and Vineyard. There is free parking on the lot. It is on the second floor of the building. The studio is very clean and cozy. The studio itself doesn't have itsown restroom but she gives you a key for one around the corner of the building and it's clean. It is VERY difficult to find a good waxing/sugaring place, let alone someone you like and trust for that unwanted hair removal! Lillian is nothing short of amazing. This was my first time getting "sugared" and I will probably never go back to waxing. I was just going to get my underarms done, but we started discussing a bikini procedure and before you know it, it's all done! I had tried to get waxed down there before and it was just too painful for me. Lillian made me feel at ease and I trusted her right away. I am so glad I found her! Just tried sugaring for the first time. Got a brazilian and underarms done and I was amazed at how quick, clean, and as painless as possible it was. After this experience, I will not go back to waxing. I have somewhat sensitive skin and I've been burned while waxing. I started off waxing a couple years ago but hadn't for a while because I started getting laser hair removal treatments. Well, the place I was going to for laser hair removal I had bought deals off groupon but they only had appointments available at times that were too far off from the date you're supposed to return. For example, you're supposed to go in every 6 weeks but they would either schedule me during period week, which they won't treat you while you're menstruating, or they would only have availabilities WEEKS after you were due to return so the treatments weren't helping any because I was going too long in between. Needless to say, I just stopped going after the 4th of my 6 treatments I had already bought because it just was not working. I started looking into waxing again and read about SUGARING so thought I would give it a try. I found this place on yelp and figured I would give it a go since it has such high reviews. 1st: If this is your first time trying sugaring here, it is HALF off. $32 for a brazilian. Yeah, wow! 2nd: It is a little more painful than laser hair removal but NOT as painful as waxing. Plus Lillian is so good at distracting you with conversation or there is a TV in the room if you'd rather watch it. 3rd: She has a PUNCH CARD! Buy 4 treatments, get the 5th FREE. Overall, my experience here was amazing. My skin is sensitive but I walked out of this place with no lingering pain or stickiness that comes with waxing. Plus, Lillian took the time to pluck the straggler hairs that were too short to be caught by the sugar mixture. She took the time to make sure it was exactly what I asked for. It's just a cute little shop that provides service like a booming business.
