She is great. She's been my go to while in Albany and I highly recommend her. As per COVID concerns, she is strict about taking precautions and does not put the thread in her mouth while threading. She wraps it around her neck instead. She offers other services as well (waxing is with a roller not with popsicle sticks). But have only gotten my eyebrows threaded with her. I just want to add that I'm a bit obnoxious and picky about places that I go to, but Reema is truly great. She is the owner and the ONLY one there so you know you'll always get a great job done.

The service was great from everyone who worked there. First I had my massage with Carolyn, and it was hands-down, the best massage of my life. There is nothing I hate more than a massage where you feel more tightness because they didn't work the spot enough or with enough pressure. She was sure to work thoroughly, and it paid off, I felt a million times better than when I walked in. Then I had a facial with MaryAnn, and she was excellent as well! I am a super nerd so I like to understand the process, and MaryAnn explained each step to me, why they use certain things, how it helps, etc. They also told us of several specials they are currently offering, or will be in the coming months, which is great considering how expensive it can be to pamper yourself! A great spa, highly recommended!

I had a really disappointing experience at Skin Forensics…read more I came in during early pregnancy after having already experienced back to back miscarriages, and my skin was in terrible shape. I explained that I believed I was dealing with hormonal acne, but the owner repeatedly assured me I was wrong. Instead, she diagnosed me with dermatitis and insisted that I was likely having an allergic reaction to my laundry detergent. She recommended an oil-based cleanser that she had formulated herself, which I personally believe made my skin significantly worse, and I also spent money replacing all of my laundry detergent based on her advice. Throughout the appointment, I felt unheard and dismissed. After my skin continued to worsen, I later saw a dermatologist, who confirmed my suspicion that I was, in fact, experiencing hormonal acne. What concerned me most, however, was that despite knowing I was pregnant, she encouraged me to take cod liver oil supplements, saying the high vitamin A content would be beneficial. I later learned that excessive preformed vitamin A during pregnancy can increase the risk of birth defects, and I was incredibly relieved that I chose not to follow that recommendation. I understand that everyone's experience may be different, but based on mine, I would encourage anyone--especially if you're pregnant--to be cautious and to discuss any skincare or supplement recommendations with your OB or healthcare provider before taking them.

The room that the wax process takes place in is clean and comfortable. Her process is quick, yet through. Somehow the way she does the brazilian wax here is the least painful of all other places I've ever been to. Now I'll only be going to her for those! Her site recommends advance booking and that service is usually by appointment evenings (5:30 pm +) Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday 9am - 4pm. The space is above Kristin's Termé on Jay. I'm not quite sure if her business is part of Kristin's or separate. Either way, you enter through Kristin's Terme. If you have an evening appointment, Kristin's may be closed, but Beth will come an unlock the entrance a few minutes before your appointment if she is with another client beforehand. So don't be alarmed if you arrive early and find that the front door is locked. I parked on the street; if you can't find parking, there is additional parking behind Perreca's and Cornell's across the street.
