So disappointed. It's my third time visiting this location, as traveling back home to NYC isn't always possible, and the lady who did my eyebrows completely over threaded. Not only did she shorten one eyebrow but she cut me as well. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded for years and have never been cut - and yes, things happen but this has never happened before. She took far more time on one brow than the other and when she realized it was too thin, she attempted to thin out the other. This spot just happens to be close to my office so I was able to go for a quick trip during a recent lunch break before a wedding. The space is very clean, and quiet. The check-in process (via ipad or similar technology), was simple and efficient, and I only waited a few minutes while someone else was finishing up. The technician was friendly, and did an excellent job shaping my brows. And you can't beat the cost - I believe $10, AND they send you coupons via text message to sweeten the pot. When I'm in Albany I almost always get my eyebrows threaded here. It's going on the 3rd year I've been going here. Pooja does great on eyebrows & I usually don't go to anyone else, but her. Now let's go into why I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5. There was a new lady there the last time I came & I had no choice but to get them done, as I had an event to attend..Well it was evident that she was struggling. I think her name is Amita? Or something around that. She tried her "best", until I stopped her mid way on the service. She may be learning, but I don't think she's ready to do eyebrow threading just yet. I've come here about 5 times this summer and have never been disappointed. I'm really particular about my eyebrows and the women here have won my loyalty by always being very thorough & attentive to detail. Threading can be uncomfortable if not done well but I've never had a painful job here and the ladies are really careful and sweet. I decided to give this a try after growing sick and tired of these incompetent salons ripping the flesh off of my face from a wax. Is it too much for a girl to ask for safe and quick hair removal at a reasonable price? I'm not too crazy about threading. I like the instant gratification of getting a bunch of my hairs ripped out at the same time. But, there was a deal on Groupon, so why not? First of all - I don't like the fact that they do not accept appointments. It's one thing if they just don't accept appointments, but they state on their website AND HERE ON YELP that they do appointments and there is a 100% response rate within an hour. That's completely false. I called, no call back. I made an appointment here on Yelp, no response back. Because of this?? I almost didn't go. This right here is the reason why this place only got 3 stars from me. But, I'm glad I did go. This place is really nice. There was no wait and it was quick. That's what I like. It does get to the point where my eyes tear up a bit, but here me out - I also get my chin and lip (yikes!!) done along with the brows. The woman who did the threading was really sweet and professional. I will absolutely be back again - with fingers crossed that there isn't a wait. The location is on the right hand side if you are going East on Western Avenue. It gets a little busy right there, so I wouldn't attempt a left hand turn right there. I met Glory today and my first threading experience in New York was phenomenal. I got my full face done and it was a tiny bit painful but Glory did a terrific job. I'm only taking one star off because I usually have thicker eyebrows and it was clear that I just needed a clean but my eyebrows were reshaped thinner than what I'm usually comfortable with. The shape was perfect if only we had kept them a little thicker. I don't blame her because I actually should have said when I sat down to leave them thick and just clean. My brows are pretty ill just let them grow out a few more weeks before getting threaded again. I recommend this salon, it's very clean I didn't have to wait to be seated and I believe they take credit card. She gives you a punch card as well for frequent clients. read more

Its been a while since my last threading and I was expecting a lot of pain as my hairs were long. The girl who took care of me was skilled and got them done with a minimal discomfort. With this many good reviews, I decided to give them a chance since I'm new in the area. My brows look great! Price is reasonable - $10 for brows. The lady that did my eyebrows was really sweet. I did take off a star though because (1) there is no sign in sheet or anyone to greet you when you walk in. You walk in and just sit on a couch and wait until she is done with her current client. I ended up here because Super Mario's threading person was not there and I needed to get my brows done ASAP. I was pleasantly surprised. I had walked by before and noticed that they were a bit more expensive than Super Mario's, but they must have lowered their prices because it was only $1 more than Super Mario's. They did a great job shaping & trimming my brows and they also used witch hazel to calm my skin afterward. Overall, I was impressed and I will be going back since the hours of the threaders at Super Mario's are inconsistent and you don't know when they will be there. I purchased a facial/threading Groupon. As this being my first time I was kinda just checking out what this was all about. I'm a dude so I don't frequently do this but I felt like seeing what was up. I called to make an appointment on Monday but I couldn't get anything other than when I was working in the morning. I called Friday to get an appointment and the dude tells me Sunday at 11am. I love this place. I have crazy uneven eyebrows. I have been having them waxed or thread. I have to say I hated going, it was painful, annoying, and I always felt very self-conscious until I tried this place today. Not only do my brows look amazing ( I highly recommend Kavita *I think that's her name*) and the pain was minimal. This is the only place I have gone were I did not feel awkward or self-conscious talking about facial hair removal, body hair removal, etc. She was so professional and friendly and it makes a great difference. The prices aren't SO high, it is unreasonable. I would never go anywhere else and over the years I have seen a few different people and I have to say Kavita is the BEST!!! read more

The customer service is great, and they shaped my eyebrows well, but my brows are now thinner than I am used to. Downstate, threading salons are everywhere. I have a favorite, a place that I've been going to since I was a teenager. Needless to say, I've been very apprehensive about finding a new threading place in Albany. From what I've gathered, there are only a few of them. And the reviews have not been good. I decided to bite the bullet, and I'm really glad I did. The salon is spacious and clean. Glory did a great job on my eyebrows. She was friendly, meticulous, and listened to what I wanted. She did the threading with a lot of care. I was done in about 10 mins. She charged me $10, which is a little more expensive than I what I am used to paying downstate ($7). However I think that $10 is still really reasonable. Fantastic place. I'll definitely be back. read more

I had just moved to the area from NYC and had been getting my eyebrows threaded for a while now. Needed a new place and glad I found this one! The lady who threaded my eyebrows did a wonderful job and took her time to get them looking great. In and out in probably 10 min, tops. Easy place to find, tons of parking. The only thing is that I used to pay $5 for eyebrow threading in the city and in Albany it's $10, but in the end, the increased cost is worth it. I dropped in without an appointment on a weekday after work and had my eyebrows threaded right away. The woman who greeted me and threaded my eyebrows was very welcoming. It was in the price range I expected ($10). She listened when I requested that I wanted my eyebrows to be just shaped a little and invited me to look at the mirror a few times to make sure they were they way I wanted them to be. A few places I've been to will thread your eyebrows to nothing, even if you request that you'd like just a little bit of shaping.
