Abida was gentle, professional, detail-oriented, and really listened to what I wanted--a natural look with a cat eye--and she did an incredible job! My lashes turned out full, natural, and beautifully done. Arch Salon is definitely the best salon in Colonie and Upstate New York for lashes, brows, facials, and full-service hair extension services. I'm so impressed! I also highly recommend their HydraFacial, microblading/powder brows, and waxing! I'm so happy I found this place.. what a hidden gem! Horrible Waxing Experience - left permanent mark - Unprofessional and Careless Service at Arch (Crossgates Mall, Albany, NY) I went to Arch last month for waxing, and they ripped off the skin on the back of my right hand, leaving a permanent mark, and caused bruises on my underarms. When I confronted them about it, they dismissively said, 'This happens with waxing,' which was extremely insensitive and unprofessional. Despite the damage they caused, they still demanded payment. I refused to pay and requested a refund, but instead of handling the situation properly, they created unnecessary drama to avoid refunding me. When I got upset, they finally agreed to refund me but told me never to return. In the end, they only refunded me for my hands, claiming that they only ripped the skin there, not on my legs. I usually get my eyebrows done here during the week and they have been doing a good job, this time I decided to come on a Saturday, and the lady that was there completely murmured my eyebrows, they don't look the same, one of them looks crooked and she didn't follow what my natural eyebrows look like, and she didn't even bothered to ask. Went to get my eyebrows threaded and lip waxed 2 days ago. At first I was very pleased with how my brows looked, but when I woke up the next morning I realized they had cut me quite a bit. I was told to hold the skin tightly, and I did, but they should have corrected me if it wasn't tight enough. I've attached pictures from this morning. I've never had a problem with this salon before, so I am very disappointed. In addition to them cutting me on both upper eyelids, their customer service was unprofessional. I came in and wrote my name and "eyebrow threading, lip wax" in the book before sitting in the waiting area. They finished the current customer and all 3 employees walked straight to the back without addressing me at all. After a few more minutes I rang the bell and they came out and asked me to sit in the chair. When my eyebrows were done, the woman walked to the register and I had to tell her that I wanted my lip done too-she didn't even look at the book. Please don't go here, even if it is cheap and conveniently located, it's always going to be a risk. I'm still very disappointed as this service was a little treat to myself for my birthday. My friend went here yesterday to get her eyebrows waxed. The lady proceeded to wax them and after a few pieces she told her that she had very sensitive skin. She then continued with the waxing even though it was super painful. After she finished she went back in with thread to "clean it up" making the spot even more irritated. I'm posting this review to warn everyone if you have sensitive skin, I would not recommend the wax. They handled it in a very professional way and have issued a refund. read more

Walked in and only waited less than 10 minutes. Place was packed too! Went for an underarm wax and wished the person used baby powder on me before she started. She re-waxed a couple of spots and it was so painful after a couple of hours. Also noticed she wasn't holding my arm back enough to get close enough to wax and asked me to turn to my side instead of her coming to my side, which was awkward. They do provide student discounts here for $18, but I'm not sure if I would come back. read more

They advertise henna tattoos so we brought my 9 year old granddaughter. We dined in and waited our turn only to be told they don't do tattoos and they sent us upstairs to their other store. We got there and was told they don't do henna tattoos. Both stores list this service on their window and sign. My granddaughter left crying. I have very thick eyebrows and have had bad luck in the past with getting my eyebrows waxed, the hair growing back quickly, and my eyebrows being made too thin. Arch is the only salon that I trust with my eyebrows. While threading can be painful, they are quick and the shape is so much more precise than waxing. They really do a beautiful job! I usually only need to get my eyebrows done every three weeks with threading, but when I was waxing the hair would grow back every two weeks. I have also gotten eyelash extensions at Arch and they looked great. I didn't feel like keeping up with the expense of them, but if I had extra spending money or a special occasion I would definitely get them done again. read more

I went in today to get my eyebrows threaded, and it was a new girl. She came off as rude but I didn't think much of it. When she was done, it was not the best work and I was very upset. I asked her to fix them after a little bit and she charged my party and I extra for it. I was not pleased with what I had gotten today, but I will stay a loyal customer. I went in for a henna tattoo and was charged $50. My friend went in two hours after me and got a VERY similar almost exact same pattern and she was charged $30. The henna tattoos at this place are a scam. She said she wanted to add a few "extra details" which were a few extra lines onto my fingers and those lines were worth $20!? She told me from the start that the pattern I got which would be on both hands is $50, which makes no sense considering my friends was $30. Sorry for being repetitive but I'm really trying to emphasize my anger and disappointment. Do NOT go here for henna tattoos. Its been almost an year since i've been getting my eyebrows threaded here. Most of the times, i get it done by an asian girl who works there. In the beginning, she was kinda friendly and provided very good service. Nowadays i'm so disappointed with her careless attitude towards me and her service as well. I donno if they're taking their regular customers for granted. Today, Despite clearly instructing her to be careful when she's threading as i had acne around there, she ended up messing it up due to which my skin broke out and ended up bleeding later on. She made my eyebrows worse and apart from that she was soo rude with lot of attitude. The way she recieved the customer was soo insane. Racist, racist, RACIST...Came here because the ads claim that they feature henna tattoos...unfortunately, as I am a Black woman, they sent me from one location to another, claiming different reasons at each for not doing the tattoos. The first location advised that they don't use dark henna, then the next location's clerk said that she could not do the tattoos and CALLED a third location urging me to go there. Upon my arrival there, I was told that THEY HAD NO HENNA and didn't know when they would receive more...It was all I could do to keep from laughing in the clerk's face and cursing her out...Instead, here I am, giving them a much deserved horrible review in the hopes that anyone who is disturbed by racism will think twice about giving these people your business. Amazing, especially as I have always considered these tattoos beautiful and artistic. Now I am side eyeing every single Arch salon. Such an awful experience I came this afternoon to get my eyebrows done quick. I had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even come to the front to acknowledge me. She did not say anything except, "one minute". Then I had to continue to wait for an additional 10 MINUTES until I got the courage to say, "excuse me I have been waiting for 20 minutes". She then comes to tHe front and aggressively tell me that she cAn only hell one customer at a time and that she is busy. I said that I understand and that I'm not teying to be rude but I just want my eyebrows done and I've been waiting an hour. She then goes on to yell at ME saying that she's doing a one hour facial and that there is no one else working. I got up and left. I understand that they might be understaffed but to have to wait fOr 20 minutes for a 5 minute eyebrow thread and then get YELLED at for asking what's up is beyond ridiculous and unprofessional. I had been coming here for a year and was always satisfied with the service. This last visit, however- the lady (didn't get her name) overcharged me for my services and didn't apply the student discount, though I had noted this on the sign in clip board. I noticed this once she had already charged my card, and when I pointed it out, she accused me and said it was my fault for not mentioning it even though I had put it on the sign in sheet (as per procedure), which she had checked previously. I know this is a small discount we are talking about, but the lady did not seem to care that she overcharged me, and made no effort to reimburse or compensate me (I suggested canceling the transaction, giving the refund back in cash, giving a coupon for the difference for the next visit, etc.) and she kept saying she couldn't do that. I was very disappointed with her lack of customer service and that she did not seem to care, and no longer feel comfortable going to an establishment that freely overcharges customers without a second thought. read more
