If I could this place zero stars I would. The customer service was absolutely awful. The lady dremelled my skin and when I pulled away because she cut my skin, she got angry and walked away and I was brought to the older gentlemen. He did the coffin shape wrong and filled my skin until it bled. He said it was bleeding because I had fake tips on. No, I was bleeding because you filled my skin for 10 straight minutes. The family/staff that run the salon are friendly and professional- my nails come out great everytime! They specialize in ANC Nails. There are only a few places in the area that have this nail technology! No sitting under a dryer or a UV lamp. Minimal filling is involved. There is a variety of colors ( brights, nudes, French, pink, glitter coats and etc). I believe you can get designs on the ANC too. Prices are similar to other nail salons in the area. Shellac: $25-30. ANC:$ 30-35. Pedicure: $20. They also do waxing. I have had my brows done on a whim here. The owner did a good job- I'm just loyal to the guy at the Benefit counter at Macy's. Walk in service is available. But I would recommend making an appointment. I have yet to find a nail salon in the Capital Region that I have returned to for a second visit. None of the places I have visited have been horrible, and, admittedly, I do not get manicures or pedicures very often; however, none have left me with the feeling that I have gotten my money's worth. I was hoping that my visit to Natural Nails would break that one-visit streak. However, I do not think I will be returning, at least not for a regular manicure or pedicure. I visited on a weeknight evening with my mother (unfortunately, no dog present, as noted in other reviews). I planned to get a basic (non-gel and not ANC, just regular polish) manicure and we both wanted a basic pedicure. Basic manicure was $15 and basic pedicure was $25, which I have learned is about average in the area for your non-spa nail salon. We both had an appointment, and when we entered, all of the technicians were engaged with other clients, but noted and confirmed our presence. We first went to pick out our colors. They had a fairly big selection of colors, many of them OPI. I spotted a very small number of Essie (only could find about 5) polishes (usually my go to brand), and was surprised to see a few bottles of Wet n' Wild. However, the majority of the colors had either sparkle, metallic, or a pearlescent sheen to them. I did not want any of those, so my choices were narrowed somewhat. They did seem to have a very large selection of the ANC colors. After a very short wait, we were called over to the pedicure chairs. Once seated, we were left for about ten minutes until the techs came over and began our pedicures. I felt the technicians spent a good amount of time with us for the pedicures - all of the usual cutting and filing of nails, cuticle cutting, and some scrubbing of the bottoms of the feet. I also liked that they used a salt scrub on our legs, followed by a hot towel and a lotion. In fact, everything about my pedicure was to my liking, except for the application of polish. The layers were applied unevenly, such that you can see the jagged edges of the second layer of polish because the second layer was not painted down to the cuticle. My technician (same for pedicure and manicure) was lovely. She was friendly, and asked a few questions during the manicure. She did suggest, twice, that I choose a gel manicure instead, suggesting that a regular manicure will only last two days, whereas a gel lasts two weeks. I did not mind this much as I usually expect a suggestion for an upcharge at nail salons and similar places, but would have preferred if she had only made the suggestion once. However, I did hope that my manicure would last more than two days! Although my technician was friendly and gentle, I was similarly disappointed with how she applied the polish in my manicure. I chose a light color, and she applied two layers of polish. Although two layers is standard, because the color was light, the polish looks streaky. Further, like with the pedicure, the layers were not applied evenly, leaving the polish looking jagged and unfinished down near the cuticle. I am wondering if the majority of people who have visited Natural Nails went for a gel or ANC manicure, as they seem to have had great success (see other reviews). So perhaps that is where they shine and maybe if I choose to try an ANC or gel in the future, I will try Natural Nails out again because the technicians were friendly and the location was clean. However, as I just want a great manicure/pedicure with your plain old polish, I will likely continue to look elsewhere for those services. read more

I went to this nail salon today at around 6pm and when I walked in the guy at the front asked me what I would like to get done. I told him that I would like a pedicure and and anc for my nails, and he hesitates and say not right now, with no explanation as to why I couldn't get my nails done when it says on the front door that walk ins were welcomed. After having a terrible experience at Wonder Nails (see my review ) in Albany I am so happy I found Phong at Natural Nails!! I went in for ANC and they have every color you could possibly want. Phong was extremely patient with me. I wanted a cross between stiletto and coffin shape nails and he did such an amazing job. He didn't rush me and he took the time to explain the shapes and make sure the length was exactly what I wanted. He was very knowledgeable about the product! I had great conversation with him and he was so kind. Its a family business and you can feel it in the atmosphere. Not to mention they have Bruno the dog who walks around making everyone smile! THIS REVIEW IS FOR WAXING ONLY (I did not get a mani pedi here) I LOVED it with one exception that if you are getting a facial wax you do it on a pedicure chair with no privacy and that can be embarrassing (I even made a comment but she did not move me into the private room). The wax however was great, i have sensitive skin so many times I get burned by wax but their soy based wax was very gentle and took out every last hair. Their prices was also very fair! read more

I have a nail salon that I regularly go to in Albany, but I wanted to support a local business in my own neighborhood - hence why I decided to try Natural Nails. The salon itself is old, untidy, and frankly not very clean. As much as I love dogs, I do not want one wandering around while I have my nails done. The nail tech did not use clean or sanitized equipment on my nails (file, buffer, cuticle pusher/trimmer, etc), which is against NYS Health Law might I add. It is obvious that ANC is what they specialize in, and because of that, their regular polish selection was very limited. I couldn't help but wonder how long those bottles have sat on the shelf. The prices are rather high for the area for a basic manicure. I was not impressed with the quality nor the friendliness/professionalism of the nail tech who assisted me. I know better now than to stray from my regular salon. It goes without saying that I will not return to Natural Nails. read more

Loved the ANC nails. First time I went, the man, I assume, the owner was very pleasant and did a beautiful job on my nails. I gave a $10.00 tip.I went back two wks. later and the price seemed to have gone up several dollars. The same man did my nails.He was irritable and kept telling me to relax my hands. He would hold the hand , begin to file, then deliberately let it drop. He did this repeatedly as though to express his frustration as my hands must have felt stiff to him. He made the nails on my right hand so big and wide, I had to re file them when I got home.I felt very intimidated by him. It was a very stressful experience. I went into Natural Nails with my friend (who is getting married in two days) and two others. We did not have an appointment but they did not say that would be a problem. The soon to be bride was going to get a manicure and pedicure. Her manicure was rushed through and as a result they cut almost all of her fingers. These were not small cuts but large ones on each cuticle with all of them bleeding. She mentioned something while her manicure was going on and they brushed her off and gave an insincere apology and charged her full price. She decided not to get a pedicure after the poor service. We talked to them at the end and they quickly got an attitude with us. She asked her nail tech to clean her cuticles which did little to help the situation. No refunds, no apologies. If you cannot accommodate the people in there then you, as a business, should let them know instead of rushing and doing a poor/painful job on someone's manicure. The waited over 30 minutes and was seated in three different seats throughout my time which took an additional 1 hour. My nails come out okay but it was really expensive $35 to me exact for acrylic full set. Breakdown $30 for the set and $5 for adding on fake nails. I get my nails done all the time and never was charged for fake nails. These are outrageous prices. If you are looking to get your nails in the Guilderland area, I definitely recommend going elsewhere for half the cost and better service. I will never go there again. read more

Great place, I go for ANC and pedicures. The owner is great, the family that works there is great, and I love the dog Bruno! Because of Bruno, my daughter enjoys going with me, so I don't have to find someone to watch her while I get my nails done. The price is average, and sometimes with walk-ins they can be really busy and it may take a while, but I think my nails always come out great - MUCH better than other places!!! I got the dip nails and they are amazing!! I wish I had gotten a darker color because you can see my nail color underneath, but this is a picture from week three! I got my nails done for the first time ever and I will not be going back. the nail shape is asymetrical, the color doesn't cover the very edges of the nails. Going to get them fixed elsewhere next week. Brought my daughter and her friend in to have ANC nails done. They were given a ring of colors for her to choose from. Since they were being picked up by her friend's mother, I asked to pay. First, the lady didn't like the fact that I was using a credit card, and asked me for a check...which I didn't have. She charged me $30, and I left. Upon my daughter's return home, she told me her friend's mother had to pay an additional $7. I immediately called and was told that she chose "ambrey". I explained that she was given a ring of colors, and if there were colors that were not $30, then that should have been pointed out....especially since I had already paid the $30. The resolve was that I bring her back, so they could take off this color and reapply a different color. Since I don't live near the salon, and it was totally inconvenient, I said it wasn't possible. I also mentioned that she received a slice on her finger, and again was told to come back for them to see it. I asked that they take my information down and give her a $7 credit toward her next fill-in. They would not do this...to which I said I would dispute the charge on my credit card. I was told to do that, and the call ended. I certainly should have listened to my oldest daughter who had been there before. She stated that she, too, had been cut -- which is especially concerning since they done give you your own files. Would anyone in my family ever go back....HELL NO!!! I got my eyebrows waxed here and they came out great. It was the customer service I had an issue with. I had been in the hospital for surgery, then housebound for a couple of weeks. When I was finally able to drive again, one of the first things I wanted to do was go to a salon and get my eyebrows done. I figured it would be a real pick-me-up and make me start feeling human again. Not at Natural Nails, though. The woman who took me into the waxing room was rude as could be. She turned my head from side to side examining my face, clucking at me with disappointment, and then told me in a scolding tone that it had been "too long" between waxes and my eyebrows looked awful. "I know," I said, trying to make a joke of it. "That's why I'm here." Seriously, lady, shut up and wax without the commentary! She continued shaking her head at me and making comments, though, as I grew more uncomfortable and angry by the second. I would have walked out, only she had begun applying the wax by then. Just when I thought she was done ridiculing me, another woman walked into the room The first woman stopped what she was doing with me to show her the wax strip she had just pulled off of my eyebrow. "Look! So much hair!" she said, casting me an accusatory look. Then both women began to chatter with each other in a foreign language while I sat there, humiliated, knowing they were talking about me right in front of my face. I will NEVER go back there. Maybe they thought they'd shame me into having my eyebrows done more frequently, but they didn't know my situation (having been cooped up in the hospital and at home for weeks) and regardless, is there such a thing as being too overgrown to go to the salon? Isn't that WHY you would go to a salon? If making me feel like a child being scolded is their idea of encouraging me to come back sooner, they are sadly mistaken. I went here today after hearing good things from friends. I must say I was let down. Though the staff is friendly, I was not pleased with the work. I asked from a pedicure and manicure with french. However I asked a colored base be applied to my toes instead of the usual clear base. The older gentleman was very nice and chose a color and handed it to the woman, Mary I believe is her name. When she painted my toes with the color she thought she was done, I then stated I had asked for French. She began talking to the other women doing pedicures in their language. They were all talking very loud, and obviously about me, then another woman sat down to do my French but kept on talking. I felt very awkward. When it came to my hands, Mary again came to do them. She asked me how I wanted them filed, I told her, then she proceeded to cut my nails with nail clippers, made them very short (without asking) which makes French look kind of funky. She struggled to do the French and was very slow. I was there for over 2 hours. When I went to pay I was asked for cash or check, which is strange because I called the day before asking if they accepted cards. It was pretty much a fight for me to be able to pay with card. I'm giving them 2 stars simply because they were nice overall and their dog is so darn cute. But I will probably never go back. read more

I wonder if this place has changed management in the last few months. I had a completely different experience than past guests. The water in my pedicure tub was freezing and they didn't warm it up for me. The prices were really high for the deluxe pedicure which only had one difference over the regular pedicure. The nail tech that worked on my friend had a really bad attitude when asked if the tools were sanitized. She huffed and puffed and kept laughing when my friend asked her about they clean their tools between guests. Then, after we finally finished, the credit card machine was offline and they told me to go to an ATM so they wouldn't have to wait for it to be fixed. We will not be going here again. read more

I just had a pedicure at Natural Nails. Amy did my nails and she did a beautiful job. When I went to pay, the female owner ( I presume) asked for a check when I handed her my credit care. I did not have a check. I stated that the sign said that credit cards were accepted. She mumble something to me and said she needed cash. I went in with my mother and sister. They got pedicures while I wanted a gel manicure. I chose my gel color and the male owner pushed me into getting ANC - which I'd never done before. I stated a number of times that I just wanted the gel and had already picked a color and he wouldn't let it go. Finally, I gave in and agreed to ANC. I told him I didn't want him to grind my nail bed and he said he had to and did it anyway. Over a month later there's a deep ridge across my nail bed that is growing out where you can see where he did the grinding. My sister and mother finished their pedicures over an hour before he finished doing the ANC. To echo another reviewer he kept snapping at me that my hands weren't relaxed enough... I also did not get any kind of normal manicure prep (lotion, hand massage, soak, etc). I would not go back here - he didn't respect my wishes as a customer and every time I look at that ridge in my nails I'm annoyed. The only reason for the 2 stars is that the ANC manicure did last very well for the 2-plus weeks I kept it on. read more
