It's safe to say that I know them all quite well by now, but especially the sparkling wine houses in the region. Chandon is absolutely beautiful as a site. They had a renovation a few years ago and it served them very well. This place does wonders for their brand. It's so beautiful that it's our current top choice for a wedding venue, it truly is that special. The way it effortlessly blends between nature/outdoors and indoors is gorgeous. The wood table pieces inside the shop and the curved interior design of the club house are two of my favorite features. Visiting here is always a blast. It only took until our second visit to become a member. Aaron is a fantastic sommelier and truly so knowledgeable about the wines. He's also fantastic to talk to and a wonderful person to have at your table. The wines are great- the étoile brut is our current favorite. For something special the garden spritz is absolutely phenomenal, you truly taste the Earl grey flavor. I could clearly go on for days about how much I love it here. I wish I lived even closer- but that would be dangerous! I'm excited to be back next week for the club harvest social.

We've been club members for 20 years, and the sparkling wines have always been some of our absolute favorites. The staff is incredibly hospitable, welcoming, and attentive, and the food is delicious. Such a fun place to do wine tastings. The hospitality team is amazing. Sean Robinson, the…read morehospitality director, really aligns very quickly to what his clients like and make great recommendations. It's a very laid back environment focused on Yountville and local artists. We recently attended a winemaker meet and greet event there. Keith Emerson, the winemaker, was very personable with a plethora of information to share. I highly recommend a visit to the Yount Room. If you like white wine blends (Sauvignon Blanc and Semilon) , try the Hibou wine from Cornerstone. Keith Emerson is the winemaker maker.

Thanks for your response, Matt…read more I think there's an important distinction getting lost here. We do not dispute your staff's right or legal responsibility to refuse alcohol service. If Shawn believed members of our group should not be served, we understand and respect that decision. Our complaint is about how that decision was communicated and how the interaction was handled. If anything, believing that members of a group have been drinking should make calm, respectful communication and de-escalation even more important. The interaction felt judgmental and confrontational from the beginning, before the reactions you describe in your response occurred. We're also not defending every reaction that happened once the situation escalated. Some members of our group became angry and responded in ways they shouldn't have. But citing those later reactions does not address the behavior and communication that preceded them. Regarding the edited review, the reference to having visited other wineries was not removed to conceal that we had been drinking. We were in Napa visiting wineries -- that was never in dispute. The review was edited to focus on what our actual complaint was: the way we were treated. Interestingly, we went to Hill Family Estate afterward, told them exactly what had happened, and were met with kindness and professionalism. That contrast is ultimately why this experience stood out so negatively. Refusing service can certainly be the correct decision while the way that refusal is handled can still be poor hospitality. Both things can be true.

Walked in and no one was there to greet us, so we wondered to the back and noticed there was an employee outside helping another party (he was the only one there). He greeted us and shared our tasting options (2 for $50 or by the glass). We opted for a glass of Pinot (holy silky!) outside in the courtyard area (which is shared with neighboring shops and communal bathrooms). Sun was shining and the music playlist was fire. Evan was a great host, checked in a few times, enough to not bother us! Beautiful inside seating with multiple plush couches and chairs and a side room perfect for a larger party. Oh they have a really good smelling candle; sun sipping! Will most definitely be going back.

I highly recommend adding the butter and cheese tasting to your experience, it's some of the best butter you'll ever eat. Our servers both times were really friendly and sat with us most of the time, laughing and joking around with us. I also really love the seating because it feels like you're just sitting at home, with friends, enjoying amazing wines. The prices are pretty high on most of their wines but they are worth it! I'm so thankful our friends introduced us to Handwritten, it's one of our favorite tasting rooms now. Definitely add it to your list if you're going to be visiting Yountville.
