Garrett was such a great host for our first stop of the day at Barnett. Coupled with a cute cat named Poncho and a spectacular view on the mountaintop, this is a must visit!

Our second visit to the Barnett property was as good as our first two years ago. The experience and service were fantastic and Enrique was great! The wines here are excellent quality; we're already in the club, but we discovered a couple new ones this trip. Their reds continue to impress me year after year. If you're looking for a new experience, along with that family feel, look no further than Barnett!

We finally made our way back to Barnett!!! It really is on my top 3 wineries in Napa! First off the views are everything here! The service and wine is top tier . The Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite here and try to stock up before it sells out. It's best to enjoy on a during a hot summer day. The Rattlesnake is the best cab here but is currently out of stock! I recommend this to anyone that comes to visit Napa! I promise you won't be disappointed! The thing I love about Barnett is the privacy , there are only 3 tastings per day and is as if you get the whole winery to yourself! The cave over looking Napa is incredible I can really be out there all day! The new patio that was just built was Amazing!!! The views were spectacular ! I would recommend wearing sunscreen ! I got burned while being up there . Highly highly recommend visiting Barnett on your visit in Napa. Please note the drive is up Spring Mountain and is windy road please be safe driving up and back down !

For the diehard wine fans, this is a must place to stop. Expect to drive up a dirt road hill for about ten minutes until you approach a gated entrance. Use the intercom and they will buzz you in. Once you drive and park enter the barn where they store their wine, and have it for sale. Although we weren't able to do the wine tasting, their view up top is spectacular.. simply breathtaking...

Tried their wine in the restaurant and loved it wanted to visit her winery. Had a great time beautiful location, very secluded and intimate. Wines are one of the favorite. We've had tried their MMV wine and fell in love with it. The views the service it was all great. Looking forward to visit many more times.

You know when you go somewhere and your experience is so good that you actually can't wait to write a Yelp review about it? That's Barnett. My friends and I recently spent a couple of days in Napa, and this was the group's favorite winery (we visited seven total) based on both venue and tasting. The staff is incredibly friendly -- Ryan greeted us and Kevin gave us the tour and tasting -- but in a way that was unique from every other winery we visited. It was really like catching up with old friends, versus polite chit-chat. The views from the top of Spring Mountain were GORGEOUS, and we got to have our full tasting outside (also unique to this winery, in our experience, which really shocked me considering how beautiful some of the wineries are -- such a shame to be inside!). The wine was great -- the hype about the Rattlesnake Cab is real. Definitely a must-visit, and I will be back. One tip: if you're not driving yourself up the mountain, get a private driver/ask your Uber to wait a couple of hours for you for a fee. Even if you have reception on the mountain, you will never get an Uber to crawl up there to grab you!

Barnett is the best!

We had an amazing afternoon hosted by Kevin at Barnett. I literally couldn't wait to get home to write a review our experience was so stellar. I had heard excellent things about Barnett through word of mouth and I was looking forward to trying out a great Spring Mountain winery. We had an absolute blast tasting through their delicious and elegant wines while enjoying one of the most amazing views over the Napa Valley. The highlight however was Kevin. He was so funny, knowledgeable and most importantly, down-to-earth which can be hard to find at such a high-end boutique and family owned winery. Made for an absolute magical mid-week day for 2 Napa natives. If you love fine wines, a spectacular view and excellent service, forget the valley floor and head on up to Barnett!

Beautiful location! If you can get a private tasting here I would def check it out. We loved every wine we tasted and the view was amazing. It's a bit of a drive to get to the winery, but it's gorgeous once you get up there.

I first discovered this wine while on a business trip to New Orleans (before Katrina), was having dinner at Delmonico's and when looking at the wine list (favoring new vs. old world), the sommelier turned my direction to a merlot from Barnett, after drinking all 3 bottles they had on stock (yes I shared), I vowed to track them down when I got back. That was 10+ years ago. Barnett was my introduction to Spring Mountain wines and once you drink from the mountain it's hard to come down and drink anything else (don't get me wrong there are spots on the valley floor that make good bug juice too). The property is amazing, small and family owned, the staff are generous with their time and knowledge (seek out Kevin) and the wines speak for themselves. Beside their merlot, try the Cabs (Rattlesnake is their top shelf and its worth splurging on a bottle or two), the whites are good too but I am a red guy. They have a couple of pinots you need to taste, look for the Tina Marie it's a great example of russian river wine. The chardonnay is traditional and the sauvignon blanc sometimes tastes like bubble gum. Drink Up!

We were staying at Mille Vigne nearby and wanted to stop at a winery before heading out of St. Helena. Our innkeeper called Barnett to see if we could stop in for a quick tasting with our dog. Fortunately, they were open and not quite busy yet on a Sunday, so we quickly went over. We were told that we could bring our dog over the phone, unfortunately, when we got there, the person at the tasting room said that the winery dogs don't get along with other dogs, so we couldn't have our pup with us. We did stay to taste, but didn't take full advantage of walking the grounds because we kept checking in on our dog. My husband doesn't drink reds anymore unfortunately, so it worked out for me to taste the reds while he was with the dog. The tasting itself was really nice. I believe I had 4 pours (1 white, 3 reds). We were able to taste overlooking the vineyards; it is a very picturesque spot in front of the wine cave. The person pouring for us was very nice and knowledgeable of the wines. She also took us through the wine cave and gave us some info when I asked if we could go in there. The wines were very good and we ended up getting the 2011 Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay and the 2011 Tina Marie Vineyard Pinot Noir. The tasting fee was waived since we purchased 2 bottles.. I'd recommend Barnett to anyone looking for some really nice reds.

Our host, Krista, was so knowledgeable, open to repeat/answer any questions, and is so good at holding conversations! I felt so enlightened and energized because of her absolute good vibes. Krista ended up showing us a variety of different wines, but the most notable wine was the very beginning. My friends and I were limited in our wine knowledge and he admitted that he felt like all wine tastes the same. However, once we took our very first sip, the fruity, buttery notes completely changed our minds. She sets the image about drinking this near a pool and I immediately would get transported to her explanations. It was giving "Remy" from "Ratatouille" moment when you close your eyes and see/feel all the different imagery. Throughout the tour, we are educated on the fact that they have two different addresses because they are at the border of both Sonoma County and Napa! Literally best of both worlds! Afterwards, we tried multiple different wines in their caves and educated on the different notes, how to hold our wine glasses, and the importance of everything. Before this experience, I was completely unaware of what to look for, but now I feel like I have a better understanding of everything. Certain notes I didn't even expect like the peppery taste in one of the wines. It was so cool knowing that these type of caves and winery exists and I feel like our host, Krista, made our experience even BETTER. Thank you Krista for showing us around. This was completely unforgettable and I WILL BE coming again!

Great experience…read more Winery: Beautiful grounds and stunning views. Worth the drive up Spring Mountain. So cool to see the contrast between the mountain vineyards vs. valley floor. Wine: Really enjoyed the wine. Focuses on Bordeaux varietals. This is definitely a fruit forward, new world style, but it's not at all jammy. Almost everything is estate grown. Service: This really made our experience. Brittney was our host and she was warm, very knowledgeable, and generous. It really feels like the people here love working here which is very different from a lot of other Napa/Sonoma tasting experiences. This is a really popular winery so it does feel a bit commercial (as a guest, you are kind of on a time limit) but this place really blends the best of corporate efficiency + family run business/down to earth people. Highly recommend.

You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and he kept the tour interesting the entire time. The castle itself is stunning and the whole experience felt really unique. The wine tastings were all delicious and added a lot to the visit. The only downside was unfortunately someone in our tour group. One woman made sure everyone knew she was a member and kept mentioning how she had already seen the castle too many times and was bored of it, saying she only came to bring her family for a birthday. It kind of disrupted the experience for the rest of us. When we got to the torture chamber she also started making some really inappropriate remarks, which was a bit uncomfortable for the group. Aside from that situation, we still had a great time and really enjoyed the tour and tastings. Overall it was a memorable experience and definitely worth visiting if you're in Napa. 5 stars for Eli!!

Off the beaten path!…read more This is by far the most beautiful winery I've attended and seen thus far from all the Yelp Flight Club events teamed with CellarPass. It is a little bit hard to find and the road to this winery is long, narrow, and windy. First of all, wine tasting is by appointment only and parking is limited. The signs are not very big and obvious so you need to look carefully and follow the signs. Once you arrive at this vineyard, though, you will see why the drive was all worth it. The front of the winery displays an American flag. That should give you a hint of the theme of this family winery. The winery itself is literally a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We entered through the side and it led us to the patio. What an impressive setting with patriotic decor throughout and overlooking the vineyard and the lake. Sit and relax in the tasting room or out in the patio while enjoying sips of their Cabs and signature wines. During cold season guests can enjoy their wine by the warmth of fireplace. We sampled the Rose and Estate Cab. There is a specially designed bottle that was produced in honor of 9/11. Do ask one of the hosts, Donna or Tom, to enlighten you with the story of how it came to be. Whether you're enjoying their fine wine or a game of bocce ball on their bocce court visitors will surely find this family vineyard peaceful and inviting. While working in St. Helena, I could never find an opening in a reservation, so here was a great opportunity now that all of us are retired. Our friends live in Clear Lake while we live in Vallejo, so this is a central place to meet. It was the best decision I made because every year for the past several anniversaries, we've gone to Cache Creek to C2. Their food and service is excellent because my husband enjoys poker, but I thought a change of scenery would be nice. And it was! Firstly, it was very kind of the staff to present us with a greeting card signed by everyone -- how sweet and thoughtful! We will cherish that! Secondly, we were very impressed with how the food/wine was locally sourced. It was incredible to hear the story about Custom, the Bull, and taste the difference between the Highland beef compared to Angus. Our waitress was "Erica S." She was engaging, personable, and very informative. My husband and I would definitely like to return to return to experience the dinner menu! We and our guests had the following dishes: Artichoke appetizer Arbororio Biscuits & Gravy Two Cheeseburgers Three Bloody Mary's Farmstead Margarita When they found out it was our anniversary celebration, the house sent over four glasses of complimentary champagne and a dish of dessert -- again, very sweet and kind of them I now understand why so many crowds flock to this restaurant! From the beginning, there seemed to be constant miscommunication between staff. We specifically booked an outdoor reservation and were seated inside instead. While mistakes happen, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. The bigger issue involved the wine and corkage fee. We purchased a bottle directly from the market associated with the restaurant and were told by the employee there that the corkage fee would be waived if we bought their wine. When we sat down, our server Sara told us that was not true and that we would still have to pay the fee. I explained what we had been told, and when she asked if I wanted a manager involved, I said yes. Before the manager even arrived or clarified the situation, the server opened our bottle of wine. In the silence and confusion, I reasonably assumed the fee issue had been resolved. Then the manager came over and told us we would still be charged and implied that nobody at the market would have told us otherwise. The way it was handled made my husband and I feel like we were being accused of making the whole thing up, which was especially upsetting on Mother's Day. At that point, the bottle was already opened, so we were essentially stuck paying the fee regardless. Between being seated incorrectly, the poor communication between employees, and how dismissive the situation felt, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special meal. The rest of the service we felt ignored and there was minimal effort to accommodate. Great food alone is not enough to justify returning when the hospitality experience feels this frustrating and unprofessional.
