Since we've been members, Andrew, David and John D have been part of Hunnicutt. When we visit, either Seana or Justin (the owners) usually stop by to say hello. The fact that they have had very little to no turnover in staff all these years says a lot about an organization. Additionally, we've been to a handful of their annual parties through the years.. always a great time and when we have a shipment, we try to pick up so that we can make a day of it in St. Helena. All tastings are private as well so when you visit, your party is not going to have to share the time with another party. Highly recommend this hidden gem of a winery for a tasting or especially membership. You are not going to find their wines anywhere else. Each bottle is super special... only share with friends who can appreciate it!

The property is stunning, the tour of the caves was interesting, Emily was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to spend a couple hours with, and the wine was fantastic. I did the Cabernet AVA tasting, a little on the pricy side, but so worth it in my opinion! The wines were fantastic, exactly what I was looking for as examples of deep and earthy Napa cabs yet still fruit forward with smooth tannins. Overall, a fantastic experience that you shouldn't overlook.

It was so intimate and personable - one of the best winery tours we've had. Our host, Krista, was so knowledgeable, open to repeat/answer any questions, and is so good at holding conversations! I felt so enlightened and energized because of her absolute good vibes. Krista ended up showing us a variety of different wines, but the most notable wine was the very beginning. My friends and I were limited in our wine knowledge and he admitted that he felt like all wine tastes the same. However, once we took our very first sip, the fruity, buttery notes completely changed our minds. She sets the image about drinking this near a pool and I immediately would get transported to her explanations. It was giving "Remy" from "Ratatouille" moment when you close your eyes and see/feel all the different imagery. Throughout the tour, we are educated on the fact that they have two different addresses because they are at the border of both Sonoma County and Napa! Literally best of both worlds! Afterwards, we tried multiple different wines in their caves and educated on the different notes, how to hold our wine glasses, and the importance of everything. Before this experience, I was completely unaware of what to look for, but now I feel like I have a better understanding of everything. Certain notes I didn't even expect like the peppery taste in one of the wines. It was so cool knowing that these type of caves and winery exists and I feel like our host, Krista, made our experience even BETTER. Thank you Krista for showing us around. This was completely unforgettable and I WILL BE coming again!

While visiting Fort Worth, my friends and I had the opportunity to try Cade wine at dinner, and it was exceptional. It was so smooth and beautifully balanced that I made a point of visiting the winery while I was working in Napa so I could purchase a case to share with friends at an upcoming celebration. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful, perched on a hillside with stunning views. Unfortunately, the customer service did not match the quality of the wine. When I arrived, I followed the sign instructing guests to wait to be seated. I stood there for about ten minutes while an employee made eye contact with me multiple times and walked past without acknowledging me or even offering a simple "I'll be right with you." Eventually, I walked inside and was greeted with, "Are you here to buy some wine?" The interaction felt dismissive from the start. I explained that I wanted to purchase either six or twelve bottles of Cade. Before I had even decided, I was immediately quoted pricing in a way that made me feel as though it was being assumed I couldn't afford the wine. When I responded that I would take a full case, the tone of the conversation changed completely. Suddenly I was warmly invited to stay for a tasting. I left with the wine because I truly love it, but I also left feeling judged based on my appearance. I had stopped in while working and was wearing jeans, a work polo, tennis shoes, and driving an older work vehicle. Whether intentional or not, the experience made me feel that I wasn't considered the "right" customer until it became clear I was making a significant purchase. Cade produces an outstanding wine, and I sincerely hope every guest is greeted with the same warmth and respect--regardless of how they're dressed or what they're driving. Great hospitality should begin the moment someone walks through the door, not after they've opened their wallet.

Gian's knowledge of wine, the vineyards history and Elsa's wine production was fascinating to hear as we walked through the cellar. Our tasting included a fig salami, (since I don't eat pork), delectable, cheeses, nuts, and chocolate covered espresso beans, which paired beautifully with the three Cabernet Sauvignon's- 2014, 2015 and 2016. Gian afforded us time by ourselves to contemplate each year's similarities and differences before listening to our ranking of each. Hearing our passion for Cabernet Franc, he added it to our tasting, which compelled us to buy not only the Cab Sauvignons but also the Cab Franc. The tasting surpassed our expectations and other experiences in Calistoga.

Honestly really disappointed…read more I was looking forward to their wine tasting and excited that I was able to get in after they were fully booked last year. The place was empty except for two tables in the corner. We were seated at the edge near the back facility room where all of the sunshine of the morning was blazing from the upper windows right into my face. We had to move the table back and forth left to right and back again to get out of direct blaring sunlight. We mentioned it but were not offered the option to move. The entire tasting was quite rushed with the staff member coming over with the next bottle standing waiting while we finished the second half of each glass hurriedly. Whole tasting was rushed into 30 minutes while the two other tables, there before us, were still able to take their time and enjoy. That said the wines were absolutely amazing and we would have gladly purchased the Sauvignon Blanc had it not been so unpleasant of an experience. A true disappointment at a high end winery.

There are not many wineries making 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, so it was a surprise, especially since I used to enjoy the HB Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Peju Winery.
