Small private room, seating for 4

Handwritten leases properties across diff regions of Napa and makes delicious wine. Their tasting room is in downtown yountville with easier parking in the back for their customers. They provide custom menus for each tasting group personalized with visitors names and all wine poured to breath before guests arrive. Ive been a member for several years now and always appreciate their service, nice ambiance and variety of wine. All tastings also come with the amazing truffle chips from spain (complimentary) - it's one of my favorite chips. The bread and cheese tasting is an experience esp with the beautiful flower cheese they have. The butter is also quite rich and it's a treat for sure to taste three diff kinds of butter (2 cow, 1 sheep). My favorite wine from there is rutherford and howell mountain. Heard they will not be making rutherford any more but will come out with an oakville one next year. For fun, they also have two small tables at entrance where you can send a handwritten postcard to someone. It's cute service. The hosts are all well versed in wine and they sometimes do special pours not on tasting menu, so u maybe able to try a splash of something before you buy. This time we went up, we tried the champagne, the author (sauvignon blanc), a pinot, two cabs. They also poured the 2011 stag's leap and 2010 napa for us to try after. Enjoyed it and got the napa - aged already by them and ready to drink for me.

Came to Yountville to this beautiful intimate tasting room. Our host Amy was amazing from beginning to end she intently studied and listened to our likes to figure which wines she would pour for us. The wines are excellent. We purchased several including some delicious library Cabernets. In the days of customer service disappearing Amy was excellent even sending us a handwritten note that was waiting for us when we arrive home

An amazing wine tasting experience in Yountville! We came here on a Friday afternoon (with reservations) on Father's Day weekend and it wasn't too crowded. The tasting room was beautiful and it was decorated with a classy, elegant touch. Our party of 3 got the Bread and Butter Experience ($100) since some of us don't drink alcohol and it was SO WORTH IT. I never knew about the different flavor profiles of butter until this experience. The butter provided isn't like any butter I've ever tasted before; It had so much depth and bite to it. My family and I started ordering different butters from overseas because of this experience, actually. As for the bread, it was so fresh and flavorful. The tasting also included free truffle chips and parmesan crisps that complemented the wine well. The wines were delicious and they gave generous pours of each one. The hosts here really know their stuff and know how to cater the wine experience to their customers' tastes. Our host was Virenda (V) and she was amazing. She knew her wine facts to a T. She was also very kind and made sure that we were enjoying our tasting experience. If you're looking for a tasting experience while in NorCal, please check this place out!

One of my favorite wine rooms in Napa!!!! Stumbled across this hidden gem on Yelp, and booked it based on previous amazing reviews. I wasn't expecting much, but I was blown away by the entire, intimate experience. The staff is incredible- they gave us such a warm welcome, had my last name printed on the brochure (and re-printed for us with each of the girls' names on it), and at one point during the tasting, pulled up a chair to sit and talk with us. Their knowledge was extensive on the winery and I appreciated the visual materials (eg. map) to help understand this wine region. The wine itself tasted great. It was pre-poured for us, so we had plenty of time once our party was seated at the table (very organized experience). We had champagne, and white and red wine; the hostess gave us samples of extra wines she wanted us to try. We did the bread and butter tasting- which I highly recommend. It included 3 different butters (cow butter, goat and cow butter mix, and goat milk butter), white truffle chips, breadsticks, salumi and sausage, and cheese. The Istara P'Tit Basque cheese was phenomenal- I even ordered some once back at home (from France). All 3 butters were exquisite as well, and paired so nicely with the wines. We felt so welcomed and wanted, and had such a great time at this wine room. A sweet touch at the end of the experience was the ability to write postcards to loved ones from the winery! Would recommend everyone visits here, you won't regret it!!

What a gem. I've seen HW during my many trips to Yountville, though I'm ashamed to say I haven't been in until just recently. And wow, was I missing out. Stopped in for a quick splash as I had to head back to the city - but wishing I stayed longer. Stepping in, the atmosphere is calm yet vibrant. In the side room, shades of taupe and wood are accented by deep, rich blues. The plush seating gives a hint of luxury without overwhelming the room. V is a remarkable hostess. She has a great energy and is incredibly knowledgeable. I asked for her pick, and she suggested the 2012 Oak Knoll Cab. I have to say, the Oak Knoll is impressive. Full body with notes of cherry, wood, tobacco. Deep ruby color, higher than middle tannin (though that first sip is rich). Let it breathe a bit if you can. One of my favorite CS I've had, and really showcases the quality of the '12 Napa harvest. Will definitely be back for a proper stop. Put this on your list (but let me book my tasting first)

We had a solidly good experience wine tasting here recently. Our host was Zeke. We love talking about wine and the whole process of making it. Zeke knew so much about wine. He was a great host. We had fun and really enjoyed the wine. We enjoyed the extra pours that were tailored to our taste. The atmosphere was really nice. Cute little home-like ambiance.

Classic Experience

Opted for the Classic Experience for 3. I liked how all of the wines were pre-poured so we could enjoy at our own pace and taste/compare the different wines side by side. The tasting also came with the most amazing truffle chips and flufa crackers, which paired so well with the Cabs! However, we also decided to add on the Bread + Butter Experience, which comes with 3 different types of butter, sourdough bread from the Bouchon bakery nearby, prosciutto, and cheese. This really elevated our entire experience there and took it to the next level! Highly recommend at an additional $25 pp. They do waive tasting fees if you purchase any of their wines. Although we didn't purchase any of their traditional wines, we did go home with some champagne we got to try at the end, which was absolutely delicious, although not produced by Handwritten. Location is great and it's on a busy street in downtown Yountville. Super close to all of the big bakeries. The interior is also beautiful and gives off a cool modern rustic feel. Plus, definitely take advantage of the cute mail station at the front, where you can fill out a postcard (or 2) and then they will send it out for you!!

5 Stars!!! Yes! The experience is amazing, the customer service is amazing! We learned so much about wine. Bill is such an amazing host. He taught us about how to smell wines, and he brought us out some towelettes with lavender. We had chips, and cheese rosettes. The wines are amazing!!! Their Blend, Carneros, the Calistoga, was amazing!! You have to definitely reserve a day to come here and experience them.

Bread and Butter Tasting

Excellent and warm service from all staff especially Vi! She is amazing! I brought guests from NE and they had a great experience. The wines are delicious and the pours are generous. Our Bread and Butter Tasting experience was perfect! The private room provided great ambiance and privacy especially since my daughter has a newborn. Overall a great experience! Can't wait to return!

We can't say enough about this place! Evan was the perfect host! He shared his knowledge without being know-it-all-esque. The wines...oh boy! Definitely go for the Bread and Butter service. They do have gluten free crackers available for this and they were delicious! We had the corner table with the couch and it was so comfortable. We will be back!

Amazing!

This has been, by far, the best tasting experience I've had. Handwritten wine's tasting room is located on a street with several other well known restaurants and tasting rooms. In fact, Jessup, next door, is affiliated with Handwritten and offers the more common, appeal to the masses kind of tasting experience. Handwritten offers a personalized, intimate tasting that is sure to impress. We had been tasting at Jessup and as we were leaving, our Napa host ran into one of the Handwritten employees. We decided to make a reservation for the next day. Yes, you probably should make a reservation. They only have a few "seatings" per day and the room only holds about 6 people. The next day, we drive into their private lot located in back of the buildings and we are seated around a table with settings full of glasses. Each setting has a notebook and other info, as well as a personalized note. Super cool. The room itself is elegant and they have plans to build another tasting room. We tasted about 6-7 delicious wines and were encouraged to compare them by taking sips back and forth between the glasses. The tasting was informative and enjoyable. We ended up buying several bottles ($100-$150 range) and left very happy.

Bread and Butter tasting

Wow-- Handwritten Wines' Bread & Butter tasting is far and away the best wine tasting experience EVER. The tasting is pre-poured with a variety of Cabernet Sauvignons from various growing regions. Our guide walked us through the details on each and gave us plenty of time to sip at our leisure and compare the notes from each region. What really sets this tasting apart is the pairings. The food offering at the Bread & Butter tasting is robust, to say the least. We were started off with truffle potato chips and some thick cheesy baked crackers. After that, they brought out delicious sliced Bouchon bread and a platter full of meats, cheeses, and butters. The meat was some sort of proscuitto type meat (I wish I wrote down what everything actually was, haha!) The cheese was a beautifully shaven sheep's milk cheese that was phenomenal. There were also 3 various butters. All in all, it was just a really phenomenal tasting with gourmet pairings and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Wine tasting! Cab comparisons are such a great idea!

Handwritten is amazing! The wines are great and the staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. This is our second time visiting (the first time we became members). The Zeke, Mary and Amy treated us like family and we appreciate it. If you get the chance, ask about their Bread and Butter experience! You won't be disappointed.

Amazing wines in a great location but be warned this is not a vineyard just a tasting room. Great cabs and blends.

On this most recent experience, I was invited to attend with 2 friends who are both wine club members and I have to say, I was watching how others were hosted as we were all seated at tables with our parties fairly close to one another and I have to say, the experiences were similar in style, with a bit more TLC for the wine club member experience, but all in all, if I need another membership, this is one I'd consider as I love Sparkling wine and the service was not pretentious or rushed in any way. I felt very comfortable and the vibes were all positive. The selection of flights were great and a reasonable price point. If I had friends who were visiting and wanted a Napa County experience, this is one I would definitely recommend. They have updated their tasting spaces and have so many different areas that even on a busy day, it doesn't feel crowded or overwhelming.

The price tag versus what you get is off - our wine host didnt bother to pour us anything when we sat down (it took around 15 mins to get a glass of wine) - once we did get wine, it was off to the races. The wine is great, but is clear that Chandon is more interested in their club membership than the experience. The second we finished our tasting experience, the entire thing shifted from "taste our wine" to "buy into our wine club". It was a sudden, very jarring change. I have had better experiences with pushy time share sellers than Chandon salespeople. At least with them, I get a gift card, park tickets or a hotel stay. I got. Nothing from Chandon. Chamdon will always be my favorite wine, but for a sparkling experience, I am going to find another winery to visit or go attend a timeshare presentation where at least I get something for sitting through the annoying sales presentation.

It's a very laid back environment focused on Yountville and local artists. We recently attended a winemaker meet and greet event there. I like wine (reds, specifically) and those featured here were the most aromatic and enjoyable lot I've ever sampled. Having been a one-time member of Conn Creek I received an invitation to a (complimentary) tasting here, as they morphed from Cornerstone Cellars into The Yount Room. The Yount Room features Cornerstone wines but also the wines of others lacking tasting rooms, including some like Conn Creek, whose tasting room was lost in the fires. Situated in Yountville's historic old railway station, the interior space is a stylish hybrid tasting room/retail space. A record player and a stack of vinyl called out and host exemplar, Sean, was agreeable to spinning whatever we (the sole customers at the time) requested. Stones hits played to a Bossa Nova beat and Memphis lilts from Dusty Springfield made the visit quite perfect but without such perfect wines it'd be a lot less so. The Yount Room does tastings as well as wines by the glass and I can't wait to return for the latter. I don't know what's on their "by the glass" list but if it's anything like what was served at the tasting* it'd be impossible to go astray. * Tasting included: - Hibou, 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Winemaker: Keith Emerson - Status Quo, 2024 Pinot Noir, Winemaker: Adam Lee - Cornerstone, 2021 Cabernet Franc, Winemaker: Kari Arranger - Cain, 2021 Cain Fire, Winemaker: Chris Howell - Conn Creek, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Winemaker: Jean Hoeflinger

But, boujee doesn't have to be 24/7. Casual is relaxing, and Goosecross is the perfect place for a fun and relaxing tasting experience in Yountville. I came here with a large group of ladies and we really enjoyed ourselves. Antoine was our host and we had so much fun with him! He kept us on our toes during our entire tasting. He made us laugh, told us interesting stories, and also explained each wine that we were tasting. I wouldn't say that our group was rowdy.... but we were drankin'. And you know what happens when the gals be drinkin'! Mm hmm... we got a bit excited and little loud. However, Antoine handled our large party well and we so appreciated him for it. Speaking of rowdy; this is definitely a tasting room with a youthful glow. There aren't crazy drunks and it's not super loud, but it seems like this is where the larger groups like to hang out and truly have a kick back time. It's just fun! It's a fun time. Their patio is all the rave. There were several other large parties tasting out on the patio as well that day. Their indoor tasting room is really cute. There's a smallish tasting bar inside, but the patio area is nestled amongst their lovely vineyards. The photo opportunities are endless, and Antoine was nice enough to snap some photos of us during our visit. When it comes to the wines, I definitely enjoyed their white wines more than their reds. I loved their Gewurtztraminer and their Sauvignon Blanc was tasty too. The red wines that we tasted were just okay. Even their $150 Cab Sauv tasted a bit young, but just my personal opinion. My group and I really had a blast tasting here. I will definitely come back for a future tasting when I'm back in Yountville.
