I do not do this often however this was one of the most disappointing meals, especially after reading all of the great reviews about this place. The only redeeming quality is it has a nice ambiance wine bar esc vibes. The food was cold, bland, the spicing was off , and it took forever. It just really wasn't that good. I understand this is South Bend Indiana and there's not a lot of options, but don't make this one of your options.

I was privileged to take part in one of their last brunches at the beginning of the summer. The food, drinks, and service were all top notch. The parking lot is a lovely perk as well, but you need to arrive early. It is a peaceful, calm atmosphere, perfect for socializing!

Our waitress was great. Explained everything to us and took her time even though we had a ton of questions. Food was delicious and my filet was solid choice. Dessert have first as it was delicious.

No6 was fine. It was pricy, like the way Corn dance is. The hubs said that he thinks the restaurant is really trying to use local ingredients (so maybe that's why some items we had were out of season so It made the dish kind of bland at the end, though it starts off flavorable at first). I thought it was decent, but it was super busy on this random Thursday night that we went. I didn't make a reservation because I didn't know what was on the menu ( they post on FB right before opening and I wasn't committed until I saw the menu which meant you don't get a soft comfy seat if you do a walk in since everyone has already been seated before you. They have a beer and wine license so all of their cocktails are made with pretty much Prosecco, but it was still very tasty, The one that I had with the basil lemongrass. We also opted to order a bottle of wine, and there was a large selection, the most of them I've never heard of. The server Robin was able to give us samples of a couple of different wines and I found one that I liked that the bartender recommended. We are hoping to come back in the summer when all of the veggies are in season so that we can really get a taste of what no6 has to offer. We ordered the brussels sprouts with bacon, which was a very tasty dish but we definitely want more bacon in there! We also got baked Brie with blueberries, which was very tasty. I ordered the duck which was good but I wish there was more duck since I wasn't able to eat the skin since it was very tough. The hubs got the ribeye, which was a good size and tasted flavorful, but then became kind of very salty towards the middle since it was sitting on top of the potatoes, which was probably very well seasoned. They didn't overcook the steak which was appreciated. We didn't get any desserts since the peanut butter cheesecake I was interested in was sold out and oh they actually sold out of the Brussels and bacon appetizer a little bit after we ordered and got our dish. The soup appetizer looked really good but didn't understand how it could be shared but It made sense when the table next to us got it. It just came in two bowls, so I kind of wish we got that as well. Our pre tip bill was a little over 200 and we got two starters, two entrées, one cocktail and a bottle of wine.

So I took it a little out of town this weekend when I visited South Bend. I was introduced to this restaurant by my dearest. This place is has and amazing patio and the the inside is beautiful. They have wines and beers and lots of variety too. The food is delicious, I ordered a pork chop and grits and this just blew my taste buds out the roof. Definitely visiting again - Thanks to the chef

This was phenomenal. Sake and Dine Thank you Robin and Devon you made our first visit here a great one with this pairing.

Love this place! We've been here for pairing dining and this time we just wanted to try out their daily menu. Robin was so pleasant and the chefs came out to greet us and make sure we enjoyed our dinner. A great last night in South Bend! Thank you :-)

    They are not playing around.

This is, beyond any reasonable doubt, the best meal I have had in this town. Ever. The dishes were heavenly and they took exceptional care of us. I let them know in advance that our reservation was for my wife's birthday and they truly went above and beyond with our dessert. Back in our salad days, the wife and I were heavily involved in the South Bend Civic Theatre, which at the time, called this Firehouse home. We happy few who were blessed enough to be involved back in the day put our hearts, sweat, and one occasion in a production of Streetcar- actual blood into creating art for the community. Many of the productions in the Firehouse transcended the limitations of the space and pulled the audience from their seats into Storytelling Glory in the presence of the Gods. This was a magical place to put on a show, and to make friends we will cherish for eternity. It brings us tremendous joy to report that the current occupants of these sacred grounds are continuing this tradition of blowing the public's minds by delivering what can only be described as Art, right to their tables. No. 6 is not to be missed if you are into food prepared with Passion. We'll be back, for pretty much any special occasion going forward. P.S. The Firehouse is haunted by at least: one little kid, and old dude in an old-timey puffy shirt, and some horrifying presence upstairs that will only pounce on you when you are the last one out of the building.

I waltzed in on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty dead, but I was greeted and my food came out quickly. The maque choux was to die for. I have not yet had the pleasure of trying anything off of Fatbird's normal menu. I'll try to keep this review quick since it is pretty specific but long story short, we loved the unique and well made food and the service and vibes were great! So while Fatbird is known for their chicken sandwiches, my bf and I ordered the $40 lunch for two from this special 2026 menu, which was heavily indigenous Latin American-inspired in the ingredients. For the starter, we shared 8 sweet plantains slices which were yummy but we wish we had more. Then for our main, we split one grilled jerk chicken sandwich with VERY unique ingredients like a pickled green tomato as well as two creative tacos with tender shredded pork and more pickled veg. The tacos were spicy as heck and definitely not for the faint of heart! Lastly, we split a small bowl of arrow con leche brule, which helped bring the heat down from the tacos. While we didn't leave full, we had fun trying a curated and very unique set of dishes with interesting flavors, textures, and spices. The other 4 people we ate lunch with ordered a variety of stuff from the normal menu, some of which are in my attached pictures. My bf also ordered himself a pineapple tepache to sip on, which was $8, and I got myself a diet coke with lemon ($3). Our waitress was on top of her game and was very friendly. The interior is cute and spacious and the bathroom is cute and clean. I love a clean bathroom! Their normal menu has 8000 things I want to try next time! As for this special menu lunch, we paid, after tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge, a total of $67. A bit high for lunch, but good vibes all around!

We got there around 5:00 PM while things were just getting busy. It had a nice vibe to it. You could tell people enjoy coming here. I started off the order with an item off their monthly menu specials. The muffuletta pizza. Very nice with a great flavor. My wife loved every bite of her braised beef sliders and cole slaw. We also have this obsession with ordering Brussels sprouts when we go out and they're available. I will give the sprouts 3 out of 5 because they had way too much balsamic vinegar on them. This rating doesn't bring my overall rating down because it's likely they are very good any other time. As if all that weren't enough to eat, we ordered the 8" Cinnamon Streusel pizza with vanilla bean ice cream off their seasonal monthly menu. Oh boy was that good!! If given the opportunity to come back to South Bend, this will be my go to place. PS... I'm not a beer drinker, but it seems they have lots of craft beer on tap. It's considered a gastropub. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. Some outside seating is covered and nice of it raining but still warm out. There is a patio area that's quite large. It looks like and has a feel of a biergarten.

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. If you have a special occasion, GO. Life is short--take the road trip to South Bend just for Roselily. The menu changes so I'll be back every chance I get! My only actual complaint? I was short on time and money and felt a wee bit embarrassed to pick up my fancy 2-course lunch in a ratty t-shirt and jeans, but I was brave and strong and got through it the shame. I would like to dine-in here one day, looking nice and spiffy, to fully enjoy the vibes and have a nice date night with my honey. Finding a parking spot was tricky and annoying, even on a weekday, so be advised of that. So I can't speak too much on service with this visit nor how the drinks were (alcohol menu looks pretty nice), but I can talk about the food! So with the $19 restaurant week promotion, I could choose from a list of 5 starters and a list of 5 mains. I got the signature Navarre salad without the gorgonzola cheese and the white basalmic dressing on the side as my starter and the Waldorf chicken salad croissant with potato chips as my main. Chicken salad is a favorite of mine but I HATE when it is goopy and mushy. Gotta have that texture! So the to-go bag was quite light when I picked it up so my fat butt was worried I had paid twenty bucks for two bites of food. Nope! There was a decent amount of food inside. Let's start with the Navarre salad. Normally, this retails for $8. The produce was fresh and the candied walnuts were incredible. I do wish there were more green apples on it though. 8/10. Next, I gotta give a 10/10 to the fabulous potato chips. These were something special. Oh jeez, give me a whole bag of these tasty crispy slices of potatoes! Lastly, I gotta give only 7/10 to the chicken salad croissant. This originally sells for $17. Not a bad score at all, but yeah, this chicken salad was a bit too goopy for me. It tasted flavorful though and the locally-made croissant was great! Overall, I give Cafe Navarre 4.5 stars. I'm going to convince my boyfriend to take me here one day for a nice dinner date so we can try so fancier items on the menu! (But not too fancy - I don't want us blowing a paycheck on some $65 steak! I am a practical bougie lady!)
