The tables have clean linen and the staff are dressed accordingly to the vibe. Service: The staff here are wonderful! Our server was attentive and friendly. When they brought out our entrees, they had a staff carry an entree each! So we had about 8+ members serving our dishes to us. Pretty impressive! Food: The food was absolutely delicious! Recommend making a reservation in advance, but my party did not and we were still able to be seated late during a mid-week evening. I went for the duck for my entree and it was nice. We recently went for our second visit and this place delivers for refined/upscale dining. The ambiance is nice; staff are knowledgeable of the menu and service is prompt and polite. We had the cauliflower veloute, miso black cod, pork ribeye, smoked carrots, and olive oil cake. All dishes were great, but the vegetable dishes were standouts with their flavor. My wife requested the duck have crispy skin, a common preparation for the thick, fatty skin. The server assured it would be accommodated. The duck arrived without the request and without setting the plate down, we requested the crisping. The server then returned saying the chef could not honor the request and suggested we order something else. i.e. the chef would not prepare a dish to meet a request, only his/her personal tastes. The only word to describe this experience is arrogant. The server did not apologize, apparently trained to just repeat the chef's message without remorse. Good food, great service, and an enjoyable formal setting, give Artisan checks in all the right boxes. One daughter loved the burger and fries while the other devoured a salmon. My wife had short ribs and left a clean plate. I had the duck which is a true test of a good chef; Cooked perfect medium rare with crispy skin, the way it is supposed to be. Everything was enjoyed. The lobster bisque was very over salted (had to toss it). Not sure how anyone didn't notice that before serving it to patrons.... The steak I got was good and well cooked, but the Brussel sprouts were burned in parts that I had to avoid. Worst of all I got scallops on the side of my steak and one had a strong taste of ammonia which I spit out and threw the rest away. My main course was Shrimp Risotto. It was with a number of large shrimp and a tasty risotto. I finished with a strawberry shortcake. They food ordered by wife and my friends was equally delicious. Soup was baby food consistency, Duck was good not great. The other main dish also had a purée that was very lack luster. We opted out of dessert for this reason. The staff made us feel like the most special guests in the restaurant. They were welcoming, attentive, and kind. They recommended my husband a beer to pair with his meal since he is not a big on wine, and it was a great fit. They also made me a delightful mocktail.
