Spice level is pretty weak, and the crispy chicken twice was super dried out and chewy. My jaw was sore and worn out half way through. Drunken noodle fried rice was favorable, drunken noodle beef had a great sauce to it, but again spice for yoga flame is incredibly weak. I get that everyone has different spice tolerance, but something rated as flamming should be hot. I get med+ at most thai places and my nose runs hard. Here's the second highest heat level is zero heat. Drunken noodle needs a better noodle, it's too narrow and holds no sauce. I would not call it what the menu does, which is wide. I'm happy to see that they are growing and expanding and glad to see a location on this side of the town. The place is bit smaller then the rest of the operations; didn't see anyone dine here during my visit, seems like most of the orders were for take out. As far as the interior design, I give it 5 stars! Its been long time since I had food at any No Thai locations, but is it me or did their food get saltier? It seems like my favorite dish - drunken noodles was more saltier then usual... i don't recall it being this salty before... I guess, I'll just have to order a side of rice to work out the saltiness... I noticed that they have new menu item - Nogi Rolls - I'll admit, it was not my favorite. I like the fusion concept, but there's something missing. Staff were friendly, clean and love the location. If you're at all accustomed to eating Thai food, you'll be sorely disappointed because it's really bland (I could barely detect any heat in my "very spicy" dish), and everything seems to have the same cloying sweet sauce. It tastes more like cheap Chinese take out, but with a few basil leaves thrown in. The white rice was dry, like the leftover rice that restaurants later use to make fried rice. Perhaps my expectations were too high. After all, it's a pay-at-the-counter fast-food place. But I thought that at least the flavors and the darn rice would be decent. They were in the middle of their weekday lunch rush, so maybe they weren't in top form. But they were doing a really poor job keeping up. We had to wait 26 minutes from the time my credit card was charged to when our food was ready. Plus, the cashier hadn't informed us about the wait. On the plus side, it looks like a very popular place, so many other folks (lots of college dudes, basically) seem to like it. The food went down easy, so I figure kids will like it. 3.5 Stars. Nothing out of the ordinary here. It's a chain restaurant with pretty standard run of the mill Thai food. With that being said, I'm never disappointed with the Pad Thai! (#1) that I have had twice so far. I usually get medium spice level which is fine, could go up and still be alright with the level of heat. The servings here are fairly large. An order of Pad Thai will be enough to eat for dinner and have some for lunch the following day. The Thai iced tea is not bad. The chain doesn't use sweetened condensed milk though it's not surprising due to cost and efficiency. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat that isn't burgers then give this place a try. read more

So yummy! We had this twice on our 5 day trip to Michigan. This is a fast casual establishment at a very affordable price point. The sides range from $3-$5 and the entrees are all under $10. All the entrees we got were great-- we tried the drunken noodles, pad seedyu, pad Thai, potato curry, and sweet and spicy chicken. You can adjust the spice levels according to what you like, as well as the type of rice and protein. I particularly like the potato curry with shrimp (medium spice level) and the brown rice. Consistent, quick No Thai location. I've tried the potato curry and the gang pak- both flavorful and a lot of food! I've only gotten take out here, but there is plenty of seating. The chicken and beef tend to be super dry when I've gotten it unfortunately. I prefer the fried tofu because it soaks up the curry sauce, I would recommend it! This No Thai location is fast (pick-up phone orders consistently ready within 10 minutes), clean, and yummy. I alternate between the pad thai, sweet and spicy chicken, and fried rice, and would recommend any one of them. I'd suggest starting conservative when choosing your spice level, as I was definitely overwhelmed with spice when trying the restaurant for the first time. Is this the best Thai food I have ever eaten? No. Is it good (really good compared to some college town thai I've had)? Yes. This is perfect "home late don't feel like cooking" Thai. So I tried the Pad Thai Curry, and it was the blandest Thai food I've ever had. Little texture, almost no flavor, but hey, ample portions. The prices are a bit high but not too bad. No Thai's five star rating is perplexing, to say the least. There are few alternatives in Ann Arbor but nearby Novi has Spicy Bangkok, which is very good. So I think this is the best No Thai location, as it is fast, clean, and friendly. However, the food at No Thai in general is pretty rough. To be fair, I grew up eating Thai food. I came here looking for some heat. On the menu, the heat levels for the spice run from mild to some heat levels depicted by graphics of flames coming out of bowls, up to what they call 'Dim Mak,' which is the highest level and shows a skull and crossbones above a bowl. Naturally, I ordered the hottest level. The potato curry with beef I received was pretty mild, and although very good and full of flavor, not hot at all. A week later, I called in for another attempt, this time explaining that it had no heat last time and that I wanted to see an actual skull and possibly some real flames floating above the bowl when I opened it. The guy on the phone said he would make it a double dim mak and I quickly agreed. This time the heat level was perfectly off the chart, massive burning and head sweating ensued, and all was good. I found that adding roasted peanuts to the potato curry made it very close to my favorite masaman curry, so I have been doing that lately. Good stuff. read more

First off, it's a chain restaurant which means it needs to be mildly inexpensive, cater to the average taste or at least cater to what people think they know about Thai food, and quick. This is the Thai equivalent to Qdoba or a Chipotle which means it's moderately priced, contains cheap ingredients and is fast. I do like the fact that it's a local chain restaurant by a local yokel so, supporting local businesses is an awesome economic thing to do! I've eaten here twice, this location and the one off of Plymouth rd in Ann Arbor. Seems like this is only an A2 joint because outside of Ann Arbor an experiencing it for myself, I've never heard of it outside Washtenaw County. But all in all, it's food. Not the best but enough to satiate the hunger pains. Perhaps as a last resort, kind of like how you would treat Taco Bell or Chipotle if you were feeling Mexican. No Thai is like that, if you're feeling Thai but don't want to drop $14 and you're in Ann Arbor, it's an option. I will say, this location is much cleaner and holds a very modern feel. I chose the drunken fried rice with the Yoga Flame spice level. There was nothing garlic-y about the garlic sauce they supposedly used to flavor the fried rice. It was just... fried rice. I chose beef as my protein source. Let me say, you can taste the processed plastic-y after taste that permeates each piece of steak that was lightly tossed into the rice/veggie blend which is something to be ignored, it's like they weren't even trying to be remotely authentic. Just slap Thai onto the name of your place and people flock to it. I don't know what it is about Thai food in America, but the spiciness is supposed to be enjoyable and have both the depth of flavor and the pain of encroaching endorphins to compensate for the kick in the spice. Yoga flame didn't have the benefits of good spice, just it had some kick but nothing enjoyable about the kick of spicy food which was disappointing. All in all, it's a place that just didn't do it for me. Perhaps I'm not a college kid anymore and maybe my palette is growing up as I get older but I wasn't disappointed hence the 3 stars. If you're in the Ann Arbor area, and you're lookin for a quick bite and on the off chance you're feeling Thai food, No Thai could be an option. read more

I'll start this review by noting how extremely stoked I was that a No Thai! location was coming my way. My impression was first enlightened when we came in on a Saturday and it was surprisingly busy for this location. But I don't blame people, it was awesome! I went with the pad thai, chicken, weak sauce. Yes, very typical but I know what I like! My other half got the sweet and sour chicken, medium heat. The person who took our order was friendly and patient, especially as we stood at gazed upon the simple yet everything-sounds-delicious menu with wide doe eyes. We quickly checked out and eagerly waited for our name to be called. Less than 5 minutes later, the time arrived when it was our food! I initially got chop sticks to use but the food looked so glorious and piping hot that I completely blanked out on the chopsticks and dove in with my fork. My chicken pad thai was hot and smothered (but not too much!) in sauce, crushed peanuts dancing throughout. I squeezed the lime on top and it provided a perfect citrus balance to the entire dish. My fiance was as equally happy with his dish as I was with mine. The sweet and sour chicken was no typical dish. A crispy chicken was drenched in a sweet, thick, deep red chili sauce. Yessir. He was gracious enough to share one piece and it was a perfect balance of sweet and sour, pairing well with the white rice on the side. It is truly a dangerous thing that this restaurant is now on this side of town. I have no doubt that they'll be around for a long time to come! read more

Hope they don't screw up your food. I once ordered a meal and took it home and realized it was wrong. I called so that they could start fixing it, now that I had to drive all the way back. I brought the container back with me. When I arrived they said oh we didn't start making it because we wanted proof that the order was wrong. Said it was the managers rule. So now not only did I have to drive all the way back now I have to wait another 20 minutes for them to remake it since I cannot be trusted. I ate here a couple weeks ago. The noodles were very rubbery and had a weird taste to them. They didn't put much sauce on the meal which they are suppose to. Unfortunately the staff here was unfriendly and seemed lost when I asked them a question. I would not eat at again. This place has gone down hill greatly in the past year. Good food and service when you eat at the restaurant itself, but service is problematic when you order take out over the phone. Expect to be out on hold for more than 10 minutes. I've been put on hold for 15 even on days they aren't busy at the restaurant. Good for having a small place to bring friends for lunch. Between telling me that I wasn't hugged enough as a child for ordering Dim Mak, or telling a family of four that their wait would be 45 minutes and then waiting until they almost walked out to let them know it was a joke, the constant drone of her voice made me want to shove chopsticks in my ears. Did anybody ask her what cities or states she has lived in? NO. but as a woman politely waited for her to swipe her card, she proceeded to tell her that she was born in Detroit, moved to Ann Arbor for school, moved back to Detroit, moved to Kentucky, moved back to Detroit, and then finally moved back to Ann Arbor for school again. No Thai is a quick, cheap, and fresh spot for Thai food. I ordered the tofu pad thai and I thought that it was pretty good. It seems each place has their own take on pad thai. No Thai's can be a bit spicy but the tofu was done to meet my standards. This location was not too busy, very clean, and was staffed with with friendly workers. The individual I traveled with did not know how the ordering system went, the staff was able to explain it to him. Overall, I think this is a great place to stop for a quick lunch. read more

My go to lately has been drunken noodle and I really enjoyed they way that they make it here. The little strips of beef are actually really tender and melt in your mouth. The chicken curry Which is basically gang gey is excellent. I only wish the chicken bites were a little smaller. They are properly staffed here that's for sure and service was great! read more

This wont be as in depth as I like because I have only had carry out from here once. I ordered the Drunken Fried Rice with Chicken and Spring Rolls. Both were super solid. The food was ready when I arrived and the folks at the counter were warm and quite engaged in their work. The prices are VERY reasonable. $8.50 for the fried rice. As multi-cultural as Ann Arbor is and as many good restaurants as there are, I have been somewhat stunned by the lack of quality Thai Restaurants. It looks like I found one.
