Absolute favorite place in the Bangor area for dumplings! Perfectly cooked, and the dipping sauce is delicious. Have tried other items which were also good, but for me the dumplings stood out the most. I also really appreciate that over time they have always kept their prices down compared to most of the other Chinese food options. One possible con is that they are a very small location, definitely seems geared towards takeout, but there are a couple of tables if you want to eat in! read more

We moved to the area almost two months ago and this place has quickly become one of our favorites! The prices are great, our food is always delicious, and the dumplings are perfection! My only suggestion is to not go in expecting friendly customer service or to dine in. They have a table set up across the main door so it's take out only, which is always fine with me but some might not appreciate. I ordered take out from this place. For an order of sesame chicken, pork fried rice and teriyaki beef it was $25. I was not told that white rice already comes with the chicken. I ordered a number 60, spicy Curry beef with onions. First it's not spicy at all... No heat. Second, it's incredibly salty. The package appears to have an entire onion sliced up and placed in it. This meal is very disappointing. They charge an extra dollar to upgrade white rice to pork fried rice. The extra dollar is ok. Most places when you order a meal, they include an egg roll. They didn't, it's extra. So my meal has beef, green beans, carrots, onions, green peppers and i think squash. The vegetables we're very undercooked. They offer plastic utensils there but they are worthless. They bend and won't puncture the food if you use a fork. Bring your own plastic or silverware or just bring it home. It took only 10 minutes to prepare my meal and it shows as it was mostly underdone. The bed was cooked fully however. All in, the meal cost me about $14. I got the Curry, pork fried rice upgrade and an egg roll. The prettiest size was actually really good. The rice was mediocre at best. Egg roll was ok but I have had better. The sauce was very runny, salty and in general not appealing. I ate the beef and some onions but it just wasn't edible with as much salt as they used. I can only hope that this was just my dish that was bad and not the way they cook all the meals. I honestly won't order from this place again. Even the taste of the food was off. I was looking for a place to have lunch near our camp. I've been disappointed with the 3- 4 Chinese restaurants that we have been and was still looking for a good one. Did some look ups and decided to take a chance with this one because of mixed reviews. Driving up to the restaurant I decided I was going to go in even the exterior was not inviting in appearance. And I say to myself , self don't judge a book by its cover. What have I got to lose? there weren't any cars up front and no one in the restaurant. Okay here we go. Once through the front door , the restaurant look fine. We were greeted by the woman in the kitchen while I grab a menu. Hubby and I ordered and less than 10 min our meals was ready. It was packaged in take out container and as I opened the lid , steam was coming out . Holy Smoke! The food was freshly prepared and it was hot and delicious . The slices of chicken in my lo mein was tender and moist. The noodle was different than any other lo mein noodles I ever had before. These were soft and fresh. Just yummy! Hungry yet? A-ha. The pork fried rice was good too and equally hot. I've been to places where everything was pre cook and food was warm like at P. G. Instead here it was steaming hot and food not sitting around for hours. This is definitely my to go places when I'm in Bangor. Their menu is extensive and I'm looking forward to trying them all. This is a great take out spot for Chinese. Their prices are super cheap- lunches are like $7 and you get a ton of food, you really can't beat it. The food is always fresh and the orders are always right. Food is also ready very fast-- within 10 minutes it's ready to be picked up. read more

I was a bit disappointed after reading the reviews. Service is minimal. We had to ask for everything, including chopsticks and plates. It is probably better as a carry-out place, while we ate in. We got fried dumplings, spring rolls, and moo shoo pork. Everything was pretty "meh." Dumplings could have been browner (just barely brown on one side). Spring rolls were nothing special. The wraps for the moo shoo pork were very thin and hard to separate; way too thin for the meaty pork filling and didn't hold up at all. The pork filling was good. read more

Wow surprised! Don't let the exterior or interior fool you...this is a Chinese food Dive. There are at least 6 Chinese food restaurants in Bangor, a few I wouldn't step into and one we religiously visited that rhymes with Smanda Fardens. Anyway...we decided to give it a try based on a few other Yelp reviews and the fact it's right around the corner. 1.) it was a LOT of food. Portions were between 1/2 and twice the size of other Chinese food restaurants in the area 2.) the biggest compliment, it was all amazingly fresh. All the veggies were crisp and not dredged in msg. 3.) the amount of meat with those dishes was impressive too. 4.) short wait for pickup (20 mins for enough food for 8-10 people) 5.) price was a bit lower compared to other places in the area given the portion sizes. To start, I had to call 3 times because I kept getting cut off. When I finally got a chance to order, I was given the total and time. I asked if they would like my name and she said, "OH, YES", The food was ready within 15 minutes. Got home ready to enjoy it but it was totally flavorless. I am JAZZED RIGHT UP about this place. We were a little hesitant to try it just bc of the exterior appearance, but whatever they lack in aesthetics is more than compensated for in quality and value. The crab rangoon was packed with stuffing. Veggie lo mein was wicked flavorful. Spring rolls were standard. General tsos tofu, although a little spongy, was a really great and tasty vegetarian option. We also got veggie moo shoo which was sooo good! For Chinese take-out, this place is top-notch. As the other reviewers said, it doesn't look very promising based on appearance, but the food is very fresh, plentiful, cheap and delicious. For under $9, I got jumbo shrimp with broccoli in garlic sauce, pork fried rice and an egg roll. There were plenty of shrimp, perfectly cooked small pieces of broccoli, bamboo shoots, baby corn and mushrooms in a piquant but not overwhelming garlic sauce. The pork fried rice was very basic, but tasty. The egg roll was just right, crunchy and fresh. Enough food for supper and lunch the next day. This is my new go-to Chinese place in Bangor! read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could! The worst wonton soup I have ever had...tasted like dosh water! How can a Chinese place NOT know how to make chicken fried rice? No flavor at all! Awful. We ordered vegetable chow mein and crab Rangoon for dinner carry out. We got home with no noodles, just soggy vegetables and we were also shorted 1 crab rangoon. My husband called to complain she hung up on him. So I called and she acted like she couldn't understand a word I was saying. They wouldn't agree to give us a refund either. These reviews are totally ridiculous. Drove by 3 times in one week. Not 1 car in the lot. Tried lunch today. This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Had 3 dishes. Chicken is ridiculous. I've lived in Bangor for 15 years and driven by this place at least once a week and never stopped because it just looks so little and empty. Today with a hungry teen in the car, we decided to give it a shot. The place is small, but spotless. We placed our order and within 5 minutes, the woman was waving at us to come get our food. This place is great for take-out. The food quality is on par or better than your average Chinese joint. The vege lo-mein in particular is really good, PACKED with fresh (not frozen) veges and in a really good sauce with tons of umami. Of note are the prices, which are the lowest in Bangor for Chinese. The portions are the biggest in town as well. Don't let the exterior and Spartan interior turn you off, the food is great. Would have given 5 stars, but the duck sauce is not home made. read more

I was visiting Bangor from upstate ny over Christmas and of course virtually nothing is open but Asian restaurants. No1 was just down the street and it was very cold outside so I got carry out from here. The egg drop soup was full of egg white. Very nice a little too yellow and relatively flat in flavor but it warmed us up nicely. Since my wife has to be gluten free it can be tricky. We got the pork mei fun (rice noodles) the celery, and onions were nice and the lettuce was a nice Cantonese touch. I don't know if it was because we were hungry, if it was cold out or because we were visiting, but I tell you it was exceptionally delicious. The pork seemed slightly different than what I usually get in the restaurants at home even though it's pretty much the same. Bottom line it was great and if I lived here I would be eating No1 a lot! read more
