Orange Tofu
Kath S.

My friends recommended this place. It's the go to place for lunch after visiting Fort Knox and Penobscot Bridge Observatory. They are only open for take out. The service was fast. It took them 15mins to complete our 3 lunch orders. The prices were reasonable especially the lunch special. The orange Tofu was so good. I like how crunchy the tofus were and the sauce was good too. It comes with a side of jasmine rice.

Cashew Chicken , Beef and Broccoli

Grabbed lunch here while passing through the town. Portions were pretty generous for the price and the service was great. The veggies in cashew chicken consisted mostly of celery and it didn't seem particularly fresh. The taste of both dishes was a bit bland as other reviewers have mentioned. Honestly, it was only as bland as any other food I've consumed in Maine restaurants over the past 3 years... so... I think they are just trying to keep up with the Maine standard :) Just add some soy sauce and you'll be fine!

Their food is great and I would recommend eating here. I do not like explaining things since I am bad at it.

Overpriced, Rude, and Just Plain Bad…read more My wife and I were looking forward to a nice date night this past Saturday, but it turned into a nightmare thanks to China One in Belfast. I picked up an order expecting to pay around $45 based on their menu prices, but I was shocked when I was charged $57.82--no delivery, no tip, no itemized receipt. I didn't even question it in the moment because I was so thrown off, but looking at the charge now, I realize I got completely ripped off. This was for the food and a small bottle of Barq's root beer, which doesn't come close to justifying the massive price jump. The food was a disaster. The pork fried rice was dry with almost no pork in it. The spicy Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy at all--it was just a sticky, syrupy mess with red pepper flakes thrown on as an afterthought. My wife hated it. The teriyaki beef and cherry chicken were overly sweet and bland, and the potstickers were doughy and undercooked. On top of all that, their online menu is a joke--every time you try to check it, it sends you to Yelp or Google, making it impossible to get any useful information. I wish I could give them zero stars--but since they force you to give at least one star, here's my review. Between the overcharge, rude service, disappointing food, and broken online system, this place is a total waste of time and money. I won't be going back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

China Joy is located right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, ME. They have extremely friendly…read moreservice, modest pricing, and really fresh good quality food! They accommodate vegans, just ask :) We ordered General Tso tofu, mixed vegetables, broccoli with fresh ginger sauce, eggplant fried tofu with hot garlic sauce, and the broccoli with bean curd, snow peas, and mushrooms. Everything was delicious, the broccoli with fresh ginger sauce was absolutely amazing -- if you like more authentic East Asian food (I like American style as well) then you will love this broccoli dish! Large portions, steamed rice was perfect, no outdoor seating, kitchen looked really clean from what I saw, definitely would recommend this spot!

Per their signage, take out only, no dine in as of 10/16/22, and no lobster. Hot and sour soup was ok, better than Sullivan's for sure (refer to my previous review). Had a kick to it, and nothing tasted rotten so we're ok lol... Crispy sesame chicken was good at the beginning, then it got soggy and way too salty. Schezuan lo menu was average, noodle wasn't too soggy. Questionable shrimp. Roast pork with vegetables and mushroom, recommended by the person who took our order, was mild. Way too much broccoli, a few slices of carrots and a few cut up mushrooms. Screw tradition, we're not going back next time we're in Bar Harbor. But at least we tried.
