We had this as takeout. Food was tasty at the time of eating but it didn't settle well for the whole group that consumed it. Though it was mentioned in some reviews here and in google searches about gluten free options locally, the order taker could not readily give more than a couple of dishes that were GF as they did not have gluten free soy in the kitchen. The choices given were sad and hinted at just being largely unseasoned and thus our GF family member sat out of the family takeout but that was not a bad choice in the end. My son is moving to the area and he loves sushi. Saw some negative reviews but still wanted to give them a try because they are close to wheee he'll be living.. Glad we did. Son got a three roll sushi entree and he inhaled it. We also got the beef he fun (it's a beef chow fun but spicy) really good. Also got the curry mei fun (Singapore rice noodles) also very good. They have a nice selection of lunch specials, and you get kind of a bento box style with your choice of entree, pork fried rice, egg roll, fresh fruit, and appetizer. I think it was around $15.00. I had sesame tofu with crab Rangoon and my partner had sweet and sour chicken with chicken sticks. I tried a bit of everything and it was all good. The sweet and sour chicken was especially good. The sauce had a nice flavor with a bit of cinnamon in it. The crab Rangoon was fantastic, and so were the chicken sticks. I also appreciated the fresh fruit at the end of the meal. Our server was very busy and hard to catch, even if she'd just put food on our table, to ask for silverware or a missing bowl of rice. The food was okay, but not great. The pineapple chicken was hard and stringy. Other dishes lacked flavor. I was so excited to see that had little dragon buns, which I confirmed with the server were Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). What we received were definitely not Xiao Long Bao. The outside was wrong (fluffy, thick bao) and there was no soup. We got 3 big ones for $8. They were good steamed pork and vegetable buns, but not Xiao Long Bao. I love that Ellsworth has some decent Asian food, but it wasn't the quality I'm used to being from out of state. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Myself and three other friends ate here for dinner and really enjoyed our meals and time there. I am Filipina and was hesitant as I'm very picky when it comes to Asian food but it did not disappoint whatsoever. Service was fantastic and the ambiance was so fun and comfortable. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box which was an amazing deal for all the food that it comes with. My friends ordered sushi, pad Thai, and the calamari salad which they all liked a lot. The portion sizes and their presentation make this place worth it alone. My friend requested her pad Thai to be spicy and she said the spice level was great. The Maine roll is a must order. Finally, the blueberry pie is amazing- they use a Chinese flour that makes the crust taste so good and a little different than your usual Maine pie! No, No, No and I should have known this better. Foods SUCKED! Ordered: Edemame (5/5)- seriously, you can't mess this up even if you try. Vietnamese spring roll (1/5)- the spring rolls were previously fried and store until someone orders it (you can tell this by the way the skin looks. If it's smooth the it's freshly fry but if it looks like it survives atomic bomb, not fresh). Refrying part doesn't bother me much but the meat inside and the sauce were subpar. Eggplant and broccoli in garlic sauce (2/5)- bland, flavorless (yes, oxymoron but just want to make emphasis) Chicken teriyaki (2/5)- this is specifically for my 11 year old son. It serves in a hot skillet but that's the only good thing I can say. It's a dark meat which should have been juicy, not sure how they made it super dry. Peking duck roll (3/5)- ok, this one is decent. Not good but not bad, just nothing to write home about. Overall, can't recommend this place even if you're in the mood for Asian food (it will make you hate a Asian food forever). Only good thing was the portion is huge but that's about all I can say. How they keep stock on both Japanese and Chinese style menu offerings is truly a wonder. Prices are very affordable. Dined in 3 times. First two were excellent experiences. Yellowtail sashimi, rainbow roll, dumplings, seshaun fish, cocktails, teriyaki plates all delicious & beautiful plated and presented. 3rd visit left much to be desired. Slow service and the main dish of mixed vegetables had horrible burned garlic in the sauce. It was inedible. The vegetable dinings were pan fried but cold in the center. It was all so yummy, I don't think we ended up with any leftovers.
