Love this place, came on lobster roll tour to Maine from Texas. This was the 4th and 5th lobster roll I had on trip. Had both the traditional cold and the warm lobster roll. The warm lobster roll with melted butter was my favorite of the entire trip, great amount of lobster and perfectly toasted roll. The traditional roll was my second favorite on the trip, ended up pouring some remaining melted butter on top of this roll as well. It was barely 50* outside, that's why the warm roll wins today, on a hot summer day the traditional cold roll would be the choice. Excellent seafood shack, highly recommend. read more

We stopped in to grab some takeout lunch on a Friday around 1215PM. We got a fish sandwich and the lazy lobster. The fish sandwich is actually a double fish sandwich which was a nice surprise. It was a good amount of fish. The lazy lobster was a lot of lobster but the lobster was a little tough. I've had better lobster in Bangor during this trip but it was a lot of lobster for a good price. I'd recommend popping in if you are nearby and want lobster! Oh the popsicles were delicious! Ok food, not too expensive, portions are small but food is fresh. They do need to keep the sitting area a lot cleaner even if it's a self serve, someone should definitely make sure the tables are clean. Service was slow, they had a line when we got there so it took almost 20 min to get our food out. We were 3 adults and 2 kids who were starving by that point. The place smells. I don't know why they cant clean and sanitize like the other stores, but it always stinks.

As far as I can tell this place is a local landmark. We always seem to just miss the end of their hot food restaurant service as the workers go back to school. That said, we have never been disappointed by their all year round market: the lobster roll we had this year was absolutely massive and the traditional angled toast bun was perfectly done. Lobster rolls are never cheap but this one was good value for money. The lobster salad filling was low key minimal mayo so it didn't overpower the lobster meat, which IS what you are paying for. We sat at a picnic table outside and they brought it out to us. I'm no expert on lobster rolls but it compares favorably with what I had a few days earlier in Nova Scotia. If you have the urge for a lobster roll and are nearby, this is worth the stop. read more

We drove all the way from Texas to Maine. The first thing we wanted was Lobster. Not a roll or a stew or a bisque. Just a cooked lobster. I found this place by chance. It was amazingly priced I think for everything I spent like $75. The staff was friendly, it is outside so it was nice to get to see the environment of Maine, listen to the birds, hear the water crash and roll. The lobster tasted delicious, I don't like coleslaw so I got potato salad instead. The fries were really good and nothing was too greasy. In the Covid area this is a good option because dining is only outside on some picnic tables. It is not white tablecloth dining, but the food is good. I had high hopes based on the reviews visiting this place. I ordered the crabcakes, the calamari and the shrimp basket. I definitely was not impressed with any of them. First the crabcakes, as good as they were, they were not crispy on the outside so it's mainly just like a crab pile on a piece of lettuce. It was not held together very well and it could've used a little bit more seasoning. The calamari was definitely not a go to for me. It was frozen, and then deep-fried. I would've hoped that being on the ocean it would've been more fresh but it was not. The shrimp had no seasoning whatsoever and had like a very battered coating.
