The lady(not sure if she was the owner or chef or manager) who helped us with our order over the phone was super nice and helpful. The food was tasty, didn't feel like we were eating at a restaurant. This is a compliment, hear me out. Most Indian restaurants over westernize the food, every dish taste so similar and I feel uncomfortable after the meal due to how heavy and greasy the food is. But here it felt like we were eating at home. The food was not overly greasy and perfectly seasoned. It was simple yet flavorful. For appetizer, we had the Spinach Pakoras. They were AMAZING!!!! They are a must order. For main, we had the Dal Makhani and Palak Paneer. Both the dishes were good. They came with a side of rice which was fine. The menu has lots of gluten free and vegan options. Looking forward to dining here and trying more dishes next time.

This restaurant is takeout only. It appears they used to have seating and buffet, but is closed for some reason. No problem though, take out is fine! I'd say it's pretty pricey for Bangor area. They do give generous portions though. We ordered the following: 1. Samosa: Nicely done with chat masala sprinkled on it. The green chutney was good, but I'd prefer they didn't use food coloring or whatever they use to make it EXTRA green. Good flavors 4/5 2. Malai Chicken: "Butter chicken" - good chicken to gravy ratio. Chicken pieces are large which I prefer over the cubed chicken some other places do. Lacking a little flavor in my opinion. Could be because it was mild? 3.5/5 3. Navratan korma: Mixed vegetables with potatoes in a gravy. Flavor was great. 4/5 4. Garlic naan & butter naan: 2 pieces per order. Garlic was not overly flavored with garlic requiring mints after :-) We ordered over the phone. I will say they did not ask a spice level and it was just mild. Next time I will specify medium to see if this enhances their dishes. Took about 30 minutes for the order, not bad. I want to give this place another shot since we love Indian food, so I'll report back with hopefully adding an extra .

China Garden is by far the best chinese cuisine to be found in the Old Town and Bangor area. They will cook for you to spec. Allot of folks don't know this, and have to ask, but Christine and Mary will ask if the pick up on aa cue. CG doesn't rely on a buffet serving things till they are dried out like cotton. Each order is given direct attention. I have rodered Egg Foo Young for 20 years, and can get it no where elese the wayu i like it. Is it perfect every time? Of course not, I can live with the occassional deviation. Allot of local chinese palces will serve the same dish the same way no matter what. Not here at CG. I read a few reviews here about staff being rude. I am sure there may have been a newbie or short timer that was pleasant to work with. But the current lineup, I would be SHOCKED if there was any rudeness. They go aout of their way to treat customers they way to be treated. I hate to see those reviews impact their business today, just doesn't happen. Believe me, I am probably a every 2 week customer. read more

My husband and I LOVE coming to eat here. The owner, Christine, is an amazing cook. Ask to talk to her if you go. If you are very lucky (and ask nicely!), she will cook you something that is not on the menu made with fresh veggies from her garden. She usually just asks us how hungry we are and then starts bringing food to our table. Each dish is more delicious than the last and it always keeps us happy and full. She is also able to adjust her cooking to a wide variety of allergies and food preferences. My husband and I are vegetarian and there are always lots of choices available to us. We have another friend with severe allergies to a strange variety of food and Christine is always able to make her something she can eat. Even our picky 3 year old likes coming here to eat! Always worth the trip - come check it out! read more

Needless to say, I got in my car and started to eat. The fried rice was steamy and delicious, with a good amount of diced pork and tons of veggies. The egg roll was screaming hot and crispy, with crunchy, tasty filling, and no hint of Chinese five spice, which seems to be a favorite addition of many local Chinese restaurants.
