I frequent the NJ Transit train, mostly via the Dover line to visit family in Nj. I think it's a pretty convenient way to travel there. I have never had an issue with delays or incorrect track numbers but sometimes it a nuisance that everyone hovers over the screen to see their track number than does a mad dash all at once. The train isn't the cleanest nor is it filthy. I'd say it's right in the middle. The price is decent and still beats the cost of driving over to NJ.

Well, y review is based on a few trips into and out of NYC from Oradell, NJ. We had major problems with their app and them the machine in Oradell didn't work. This other customer was there and was having issues as well and said he would vouch for us! I was laughing. At the last minute, we finally got the app to work - I wonder what would have happened on the train...I almost can't believe the amount of craziness when trying to get the train from NYC back to Oradell. It's after 10:30 pm at night and tons of people are shoving their way in and the automatic doors to the escalators are trying to close and people won't let them so they finally shut off the escalator to slow the progression. There has to be a better way NJ transit. Not cool. I was hoping that no one would get pounced on.

I can't complain as this is a convenient way to get into New York. I'm just grateful for that. But one thing it's difficult if you bring big floppy bags with you cause seating is limited and tight.

03/11/25 During my commute, I briefly fell asleep, only to be abruptly awakened by the ticket collector aggressively banging on the back of my chair. Startled, I responded by asking him to find a more appropriate way to communicate with passengers. Instead of de-escalating, he began yelling and raising his voice in an unnecessarily hostile manner. As an educator and consultant, I recognize the importance of effective communication and professionalism, and it was evident that this individual lacked the necessary skills to handle passenger interactions appropriately. The level of aggression displayed was not only inappropriate but also alarming and unsettling, especially when simply commuting home from work. When I asked him for his name, he leaned towards me and put his chest in my face, pointing to his employee number on his shirt. I asked him to move away from me, and he began to yell even louder. No passenger should have to endure such treatment.

Worst train in history. Can't count on this train at all. You must plan hours ahead of time.

Literally never on time and multiple delays weekly. Somehow LIRR never has these problems but always NJ TRANSIT fails.

Possibly the most inconsistent and unresponsive train service ever imagined. Incredible how they achieved this.

I'd argue some of the worst public transit systems in the world. Constant issues on a daily basis. Truly unbelievable

Amtrak comes in and a bit early, too, about 15min early and boarding - the sign wasn't updated as…read morequickly. Straightforward getting on and coming off at the station, though late-night coming back they close some of the doors and you end up taking an elevator down with some of the heavier luggage. Food on the trains is limited - Acela had a train car that was some sandwiches, light snacks, and airport prices. It is nice to walk around, bathroom was pretty clean (and big in the car), the open door was a little noisy on the train trip back (regular not Acela), and the spacing for seats with a table was too crowded for leg space. Footsie is an understatement there. Get regular seats and just use the back of the seat unless you're a family of four.

On Tuesday, I rode Amtrak from Newark, NJ to Raleigh, NC on a Carolinian train. It was a good trip…read more This was the first time I'd taken Amtrak this far before. Coach seating was much roomier than I thought it would be. You've got an adjustable foot ledge, a fold up table, and nearby electrical sockets. I didn't know what to expect from the cafe car. Amtrak offers a variety of menu items. I got a spicy chicken banh mi and a diet soda. I ate at one of the dining booths and looked out the window at the moving views. In D.C. the train switches from electricity to diesel, so for about 30 minutes the conductors turn off all the lights and everything - cafe cart, bathrooms, etc. are closed. You can step out of the car to stretch your legs, but most people in my car stayed inside. Also, there was an hour when the cafe was closed because that's when all Amtrak employees can take their break. I didn't have any checked baggage, so I put my carry-ons on the above head storage. Easy. Overall, the Amtrak ride was a good experience and I would do it again.

I'm giving this review 3 stars but maybe 2.5 would be more accurate…read more We took the Air Train from EWR to NY Penn Station. My god, these trains are ancient. They look like they were built decades ago. The outside is grungy and the interior of the train was a bit shabby. For an airport train, they really don't design the interior to accommodate checked luggage. The seating space is so narrow that we had to squeeze our luggage in, then contort ourselves for the whole trip in order to fit so that our luggage wouldn't spill over into the aisle. Luckily we are just a family of 3, with a toddler so we could all pack into the seat. They also had a ticket collector come through the train to collect our tickets. I thought that was weird as I only saw that on old westerns where the conductor would collect tickets on the old the coal fired locomotives. Then, I realized it's probably a union job so that's why there's no innovation to verify the tickets via ticketing machine.

Utter chaos. Nearly missed my flight because of this excuse of a train. Due to construction, the…read moretrain went to terminal B and turned around without visiting P3 and terminal A. There were no clear instructions by the several workers in red jackets that you must transfer at terminal B to get to the train that would proceed to terminal A. Instead, we were told misleading and contradicting information by each different worker. This resulted in over an hour wasted. It would be far more useful if the overhead speaker in the train gave proper directions rather than the workers yelling sporadically. Although I arrived to the air train from the NJ Transit 2 hours in advance of my flight, I finally made it to security AFTER my flight takeoff time. If my flight wouldn't have been delayed, I wouldn't have made it. Do better.

They handled our pickup from LGA to our Midtown hotel and later our return trip back to the airport, and both rides were flawless. This was truly 5-star service and one part of the trip I didn't have to worry about at all. The vehicles were clean and comfortable, communication was clear, and everything ran exactly on time. It was worth every penny compared to mass transit or other ride services. What really set them apart was their customer service. When we were dropped off at the airport, my son accidentally left his phone in the car. Umar went out of his way to drive all the way back around and personally return the phone to us--no hesitation, no attitude, just genuine care and professionalism. I can't recommend Precision NY Chauffeur Service enough. If you want reliable, stress-free transportation in NYC, this is the company to use.
