Used this station several times while staying at the Element hotel, which is right next to the station. First time ever using this station and it was a breeze, very easy to simply scan a credit card and get in. As for the station, much cleaner than Penn Station. The new Harrison station is nice . It is having all the facilities like the elevator , escalator and the Heated lights near the sitting for winter it is a must !! It's architecture from outside is pretty attractive too. Good change is so nice to have . read more

I guess to give some context I'll start by saying that we did not come on the day of a Red Bulls game and yes, we are those things that you NYC types like to swat at like gnats - tourists. Now with that out of the way I'll say that if you're going to somewhere in the Financial District coming here couldn't be any easier. * Piece of cake parking at the Westin next door all day for $11 and the lot accepts cards. * Trains ran on time in both directions. * Ticket machines take cards or cash and all were working. * So much cheaper/easier than taking NJT or doing something stupid like driving. I suppose that if we were regular commuters all of the station construction and area construction might bother us but at least for our experience it was a solid Wednesday in/out of the city during rush hours in both directions. Harrison Path Station has improved A LOT! They built another entrance which is quite beautiful, you feel like you've just gotten off at WTC! If you are not going through the train station for the Red Bulls game be aware... it does get super crowded in the station and on the streets. DO NOT park on resident streets during the Red Bulls game if you do not have a Harrison permit (fair warning!). I am familiar with Harrison, so I see how clear the parking spaces are when the game starts lol. There is a pretty cheap parking lot past the Bank of America all you have to walk is 3-4 blocks and you're at the train. For YEARS they have not had an elevator which means lugging suitcases up flights of stairs, lugging baby carriages and I am not even sure about people with disabilities how do they get on the train? I am pretty sure they built an elevator on the Newark side of the train station but the WTC still does not have one. On the WTC side there are only 3 Metro Card machines and 2 "quick" card machines. Make sure you give yourself time to purchase a Metro Card if you don't have one already. The station is usually filled with people who are visitors and are not familiar with the system so they spend a while on the machines. The train station is located next to multiple parking lots, a dunkin donuts, restaurants, a liquor store and more! They also added the ETA of the trains in the station, no more guessing when the train will arrive. I have to say, the Harrison Path station and the area surrounding it has improved a lot. read more

A quick ride from Newark Penn station, this is a much smaller station compared to others. Currently under construction so be sure to read the signs. This place has parking which is a hit or a miss at times, depends on when you arrive. But your metro card down below, no machines upstairs unless you're leaving the station. No bathrooms and limited seating area. Not much heat here either, can get really cold at times, it's open concept (not for long as they are remodeling the station) A minute walk from Red Bull stadium, 5 guys burgers, wine shop, Korean taco shop, and the new URBY development which has a nice bar/cafe. Port Authority could have spent less and rehabilitated the original station rather than waste $275,000,000 on a station that isn't used all that much . In addition, I find that a large number of commuters when traveling west bound still use the old station since The LAZ lots are west of Frank E Rogers Blvd rather than cross this busy road when traveling east or west. Very poor management of resources by the PA which explains why PATH fares and Tolls will be going up end of 2019. read more

Hopefully I'll have to update this review soon since the Harrison PATH station is currently undergoing renovations and should be much improved once completed. For now though, I give it 3 stars. I would give it 4 stars based on my own experiences, but I know that it does not have the capacity to handle Red Bull crowds on game days, so I must knock my rating down to 3. The station is older. It's so small that it can only accommodate the turnstiles and ticket machines; there isn't an area for PATH employees (like the ones you see at Newark or Journal Square who help you out in case the turnstiles are messed up or when your SmartLink card isn't working). There are different parking options if you are driving into Harrison to take the PATH. That's a big part of what makes this a good station. read more

This PATH station is a bad joke. It's a cluster f**ck of people when attending a Red Bulls game. Seems like they forgot to expand the station to accommodate the hoards of people for game days. Passageways are way too narrow, and the entrances entering and leaving the platforms and station itself are way too small resulting in a bottleneck and excruciatingly slow go of it when attending a game. Also, there are just not enough metrocard machines here resulting in even more delays and a waste of time. There is enough room here to put in a few of the smaller credit card only machines yet they have ignored this fact. Not handicap accessible either which is a big minus. At least there are a few dinky spots next to it to grab a water or snack. At least it's convenient to get you to Jersey to attend a game, but you still have to walk a bit as it's not connected to it in any way and there are no tunnels or overpasses made to get to the arena. So if it's raining or bad weather you will get soaked or pretty messy. Enjoy! From what I heard there are plans to renovate and expand this station as there will be some new development in the area. Knowing how the Port Authority operates don't hold your breath. read more

The area around here has cleaned up quite a bit. There's a Dunkin', a Five Guys, and some other places to eat a block away. There are two entrances: one for Newark, the other for NYC, so don't get confused. Sometimes all of the ticket machines work. Sometimes they don't. So it's best to go hear with your MetroCard or SmartLink card pre-loaded. If not, the mom and pop shop just outside the exit closest to the stadium ought to sell cards in case the machines aren't working. If you're using this station to meet up with people before heading over for a Red Bulls game, there's really no place to stand, sit, or even wait outside or inside the station. That's the only real downfall. read more

This station is super small and gets congested basically every morning during the rush hour to work and the rush hour back home. **It's not handicap accessible. Which means no elevator or ramps. Not a good thing for those who are disabled or have a stroller to carry about 35 steps. There are only 2 metro card kiosks which accept cash and credit and 2 other kiosks which accept only credit. So either refill your metro card before hand to avoid waiting behind a tourist. read more

Harrison path station was my main line of transport between New York City and Kearny in New Jersey where I was staying with family. The station was around 2 miles from where I was staying, a 5 minute drive, and the train from Harrison into the World Trade Centre takes about 25 minutes, so it's incredibly handy for those living in NJ. The station is clean, the trains are frequent and tickets to and from New York City are only $2.25! read more

Always smells like- something, and quite crowded even during off peak hours. The new shops along the PATH make commuting here more bearable though (and so does the new parking garage). Also, for how many people pass through this place, it really needs a serious update and expansion. During commuting hours it is packed to no end and there are never enough cars to fit all the people inside the train. Morning commute though just as packed as evening commute, is slightly more bearable considering that most people have just showered and brushed their teeth. Evening commute however, smells like a swamp of garlic breath, stale cigarettes, and smelly armpits. If you don't smell like this entering the train, you may smell like it exiting, especially if the man whose armpit is at eye level with you has triumphantly defeated his deodorant. Tip: AVOID this station during Red Bulls game day at ALL costs. Also during major weather this place tends to delay heavily or shut down. read more

It's a Path Station what else can you expect? It's not super big, it's not super clean, but it's not super dirty either. The nice thing about Harrison is that you can either go to WTC or transfer at Journal Square to go elsewhere, and there's plenty of available parking in the garage nearby. There's a few ticket machines right at the entrance for easy metro-carding. Also this time around they seem to be doing some construction so everything happened off of track 1, but I'm sure that'll change once they finish whatever on the other side. Harrison seems to be building up a lot in this area so you feel pretty safe most of the time and it honestly seems like a pretty nice place to live. read more

Harrison PATH is definitely a pretty clean station with a small indoor waiting area so you don't have to freeze outside in the cold winter months. Platform does get quite crowded in the mornings. Sometimes the signal systems decide to have issues and you have to find an alternative way to get to work. Then there are also some times where the train becomes packed at NWK so you will stand awkwardly at the Harrison PATH platform as multiple PATH trains pass you. Of course, the monthly unlimited pass cannot be beat - $65.00 for unlimited trips is pretty d[a]mn awesome. I really wish the 33rd Street PATH would travel directly to NWK in both directions, that way I wouldn't have to get off & transfer JSQ or Grove Street (this is mostly an issue late-nights and during the frigid cold months). Would've expected a lot more from a PATH station built recently for Red Bull Arena and the TONS of foot traffic they will have once that waterfront area is constructed. Basic, outdated station. As other reviews have commented, exits are inadequate for the volume of passengers. Station is not accessible and has no elevators. Stairs can be treacherous, with the tread area on some steps lifting or uneven. On the plus side, parking is readily accessible here. The adjacent garage is great. The new shops and restaurants nearby are also good. TIP: Make a fast exit. For westbound trains, the third to last car stops nearest the exit. Position yourself wisely and make a break for it, but slow down on the steps, as they're loose and you can fall horribly. read more

The design of the platforms and single entrance/exit stairwell is rather impractical. I'd sooner walk to NWK then subject myself to a game day crowd. And NWK wasn't even the busier side of the two tracks! As another poster alluded to, the need to transfer from A to C to get to B is a serious drawback with PATH. read more

Favorite PATH station to get from Jersey to Manhattan. WTC line drops you off downtown, a 3 minute walk to 2 & 3 trains. Harrison Station is very small, one way in and one way out. Which I love. Not super busy on weekends. Can purchase metrocards here, machines have always worked well for me. Only downfall is that there is no handicap entrance that I know of, so don't expect to get any substantial sized stroller in here without someone to help you lift it over a turnstile. Otherwise, decent location, way easy to get to, $8 all day (until midnight) parking right across the street, reliable machines. read more

I'm not a regular commuter but there's been a few times I've had jobs in NYC during that time of the day. On such occasions when there were traffic issues (wtc line was down after Sandy, etc.) it was overcrowded at this station and it was easy to not make it onto as many as 3 trains in a row. The people were very pushy and upset cause nobody wants to be late for work! The other problem to it was that the people riding from Newark, where the train departs, don't like to make room for all the people trying to get on at Harrison. SO, in situations like this, I recommend boarding the train in Newark (whether that means parking there or taking the path train one station backwards) to be sure you get on the train! read more

It's pretty basic and grungy but it's an easy way to get in to the city. We stayed at the Element Hotel just next door and it was the perfect place. We only had to walk through their parking garage to be at the PATH station. Make sure to have cash. Not sure if you can buy tickets with card. read more

Substandard station (built in the 1930s), not handicap accessible -- you'll do heavy lifting if you've got a child's stroller -- and the hundreds of people disembarking each rush hour train must cram into a lone, two- or three-person wide exit. PATH evidently is building a much needed, new station, but that likely will take years. Although the station itself just cannot properly handle anything close to the volume of people using it, overall, commuting from Harrison to lower Manhattan is convenient. read more

This has to be the least managed Path station stop in New Jersey. The workers are seldom ever tending to the machines or cleanliness of the waiting area at the station. Right now, there is literally a man-made pile of poop inside of the Harrison Path station. There are absolutely no workers here. How is something like this supposed to get resolved? How is any type of emergency or situation requiring assistance supposed to get resolved? This is RIDICULOUS. People can't get help with purchasing a metro card nor having poop removed from the waiting area of their train station. Disgusting. read more

this station's location is pretty much as good as you can get but the interior is very outdated. the machine to buy tickets was always malfunctioning. there was always trash everywhere and it was very dirty. tons of people on the platform. there are good places to eat nearby though, a dunkin' donuts, five guys and a japanese place. trains were always in time though! read more

Harrison Path station in itself isn't that bad. It is completely covered, has a few benches for comfort and plenty of machines to fill your PATH cards before entering. But I will use this platform more so to rate the actual PATH service that comes out of Harrison Station. If you want to use the service during rush hour then it is a great alternate to driving into NYC and cheaper than NJT however if you want to use it during a non rush hour time or the weekend forget about it. They are never on time with no consistency, raise the rates without improving the service and are constantly taking my time to stop and drop off their workers to locations they want them. I have sat there and watched four trains going to NK pass by while the train going to JSQ ran 15 minutes late. I dread every time I have to use this platform to go into NYC and always prepare myself for the frustrations I know I will endure using the services. read more
