Everything needs improvement! These trains are almost never on time. I mean their on time…read moreperformance is less than 1%. As passengers, we've refused to pay after the train that runs once an hour is cancelled and we have to wait for the next train which is usually late! Trains are run once an hour on lines with significant ridership and at stops with close proximity to NYC. The train will be delayed in transit by a guaranteed 7 minutes minimum. My "25 minute commute" into the city is rarely less than 40. If a train is late by more than 10 minutes, it's removed from the app and taken off the boards at stations with no explanation. At a busy station like New York Penn (NYP), that's a problem because now you have to listen for announcements and if you don't hear the announcement about the train, you miss it! Also, a train can be super late and if it remains in the app or pops back in by some miracle of God, the app says it's "on time". It's not on time. It's never on time. Diesel trains from the 1960s and 70s with wood paneling are still run by NJ TRANSIT. these trains don't have enough seating for rush hour but are consistently used. You can't board certain cars which at NYP is almost all of them which forces you to often walk nearly the entire length of the train just to find open doors through which to board. This also means that you have to walk the length of the train to find an available seat on the often underequipped trains. There's no signage at NYP showing which direction the train is leaving out of or even 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue like LIRR HAS, which means you have a 50/50 shot of sitting in the right place for your stop. Hazardous stations with crumbling stairs and no escalators are normal for NJ Transit. How you have elevated trains with no escalator, no functioning elevator, AND crumbling stairs is something I will never understand. Also, the station rooms for passengers to stay warm/cool have been permanently closed at some stops with elevated platforms. During FIFA match days, you can't get around Secaucus via public transport AT ALL because all the buses are routed to FIFA stadium. and the only trains that stop at Secaucus are for people going to the match (there's a separate line and boarding procedure for these trains that only run from NYP so you can't just get on it). So if you work there, good luck. During the most recent heat wave and following thunderstorms, my line lost service for 4+ days. And when it resumed, it was still running with "modified service" which translates to a train every 1-1.5 hours during rush hour. The app is trash. Can't even activate an adult and child ticket at the same time anymore. And the app suggests you buy tickets you seldom buy but the ones you buy most frequently are not in the suggested ticket section. Why?! It also requires you to run location services to function and runs location services as long as you have an activated ticket, which drains the phone battery. The buses have this ticket system that is zone based but you have to buy the ticket for the correct route and number of zones, which you have to figure out SEPARATELY because the app is trash. Ticket takers can be cool but there is definitely a percentage that walk through like prison guards announcing "tickets out". But given that it's NJ Transit, the trains feel like prison so they're just a reflection of the environment. Did I mention that the trains are rarely ever on time? I would give NJ transit negative 3,562 stars if I could. Don't move somewhere that you rely on NJ Transit to get around. You won't get there fast, if at all.

Straightforward getting on and coming off at the station, though late-night coming back they close some of the doors and you end up taking an elevator down with some of the heavier luggage. Food on the trains is limited - Acela had a train car that was some sandwiches, light snacks, and airport prices. It is nice to walk around, bathroom was pretty clean (and big in the car), the open door was a little noisy on the train trip back (regular not Acela), and the spacing for seats with a table was too crowded for leg space. Footsie is an understatement there. Get regular seats and just use the back of the seat unless you're a family of four.

Coach seating was much roomier than I thought it would be. You've got an adjustable foot ledge, a fold up table, and nearby electrical sockets. I didn't know what to expect from the cafe car. Amtrak offers a variety of menu items. I got a spicy chicken banh mi and a diet soda. I ate at one of the dining booths and looked out the window at the moving views. In D.C. the train switches from electricity to diesel, so for about 30 minutes the conductors turn off all the lights and everything - cafe cart, bathrooms, etc. are closed. You can step out of the car to stretch your legs, but most people in my car stayed inside. Also, there was an hour when the cafe was closed because that's when all Amtrak employees can take their break. I didn't have any checked baggage, so I put my carry-ons on the above head storage. Easy. Overall, the Amtrak ride was a good experience and I would do it again.

They look like they were built decades ago. The outside is grungy and the interior of the train was a bit shabby. For an airport train, they really don't design the interior to accommodate checked luggage. The seating space is so narrow that we had to squeeze our luggage in, then contort ourselves for the whole trip in order to fit so that our luggage wouldn't spill over into the aisle. Luckily we are just a family of 3, with a toddler so we could all pack into the seat. They also had a ticket collector come through the train to collect our tickets. I thought that was weird as I only saw that on old westerns where the conductor would collect tickets on the old the coal fired locomotives. Then, I realized it's probably a union job so that's why there's no innovation to verify the tickets via ticketing machine.

The last stop for the air train is the Amtrak and other services. If you exit the airport, you will see a sign that says shuttle to air train. Cross the street and wait for the shuttle. The air train runs often so no worries if you miss one. Is about a 15 to 20 minute ride to get to the Amtrak station.

I just want to make sure that I'm clear about the failed "Lowest Price Guarantee". After making two separate efforts to clarify why Precision's price quote was so high and why the Lowest Price Guarantee wasn't being honored, I went with another company. And, I'm really happy that I did. The company that earned my business, was not only comparable, but, in my opinion even superior. Muhammad's response appears to indicate that the companies that gave me price quotes were somehow inferior. Precision has been in business 18 years, and the company I went with has been in business longer. Precision's price quote was much higher than the competition and was for a Cadillac or Volvo sedan, not the beautiful new black SUV that picked up my girlfriend. Lastly, the professional chauffer that was our driver, was impeccably dressed in a black suit and tie. Our driver had over 30 years experience as a licensed, professional chauffer. This gentleman even showed up 25 minutes early! What an incredible experience! Muhammad, I truly appreciate your response and your generous offer. The purpose of this updated review was to clarify that the company that we went with, was not inferior in any way. For some reason, you referenced Uber or a taxi service in your response. I hired a superior, licensed, insured and incredibly professional competitor. Price was certainly not the only deciding factor. I'm hopeful, that this could be a learning opportunity for you and you organization in regards to your " Lowest Price Guarantee". Thank you again.
