I initially came in for an oil change and asked the owner / owner's son, Riaz, to check a few items while the car was on the hoist: the belt drive, control arms, brake fluid, and brake pads. I was completely fine paying for an inspection, and he mentioned it would be easy to check since the car was already lifted. After the oil change, I was told that all of the above items needed attention. Based on his recommendation, I authorized the brake fluid service and belt drive replacement. The old belt was never shown to me after replacement. Regarding the brakes, I was told--both verbally over the phone and in writing on the invoice--that the brake pads were 1 mm in the front and 3 mm in the rear, and that they needed to be replaced ASAP. I found this odd and questioned it, but he doubled down and assured me this was accurate. I was quoted $550 per axle, trusted the assessment, and agreed. I was also given labor quotes for the work and asked to return once I purchased the pads and control arms. The labor pricing was on the higher side, though still lower than the dealership. The parts took about a week to arrive. Once the parts came in, I called around and found another shop that beat their pricing, so I dropped the car off there instead. Midway through the day, the new shop called me to ask whether I actually wanted to replace the rear brake pads, because they measured 6-7 mm remaining and didn't understand why they were being replaced at all. I have never experienced an auto shop calling to confirm work because they believed it was unnecessary and unreasonable. That alone speaks volumes. I returned to Amin's to see if they would make things right. When I first called, I was told, "What do you want us to do? The manager isn't here and won't be back for six weeks." After pushing back, I was told to come in and discuss it. When I arrived, Mr. Amin was extremely confrontational and stated that they "only eyeball the brake thickness." I explained that I came to their shop specifically for a professional opinion, and that I had written confirmation from their invoice stating the rear pads were 3 mm, which was clearly not the case. Had I not chosen to source my own parts, I would have been charged $1,100 for brake work that was not needed. I was ultimately told to "get lost and sue me if you want." There was no attempt to resolve the issue, no accountability, and no professionalism. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. im out money for parts and labor which i never needed.

I found their customer service to be so great that I never went back to Weissach, where I had previously done all my maintenance. That's nothing against Weissach, but I found James at Scan to be much better to deal with. Over the years they took very good care of my Porsche, and were always straightforward with what did and didn't need to be done, always offering the most cost effective long- and short-term options, even when that meant less business for their shop. They are certainly very knowledgeable about Porsches, and in my opinion they are the best shop in the city for this marque. I recently lost my Porsche due to an accident, and needed to find a replacement. The car had recently changed roles from a weekend fun vehicle to a daily driver. I was looking primarily at used Porsches and BMWs, and James was a huge wealth of knowledge in providing advice on what to watch out for with these older German performance cars. After several phone and email conversations, he recommended that a new VW GTI may be the best fun-to-drive option for my daily driver needs. I followed his advice and am very happy with my decision. I know this particular anecdote has nothing to do with repair & maintenance, but I just wanted to highlight Scan's excellent service for returning customers. I just find James and his crew to be very trustworthy, and they have made me a lifelong Scan customer as long as I own a German vehicle.

Yes, their hourly labour rate is not the cheapest in town, but these guys get done in 2-3 hours what shops charging lesser rates typically take 5-6 hours to do. The engine began to smoke, and the car started jerking. Additionally, I was informed that I had to pay $50 for the car inspection. The inspection was conducted unprofessionally. Important checks, such as measuring the oil level and diagnosing the check engine code, were not performed. A very critical issue causing the oil leak was not identified, but there were notes about minor issues instead. For example, I was advised to replace perfectly functional windshield wipers. In total, the repair estimate was $7,500. The prices were inflated. My car is old and, at best, worth half that amount.

I did not have such treatment with fiat, everyone was very pushy and was not willing to listen to my budget. Mundies Towing and Richmond Audi Service Department for your professionalism. I have an older diesel Audi that stoped working one evening. I believed it to be the transmission and being close to Wilfs Transmission shop on Kingsway in Vancouver I called and left my car in their lot over night. Next morning Wilf's informed me that the problem was not the transmission at all but likely something to do with the exhaust. I called Mundies Towing a truck and driver arrived and my car was taken to Pawlik Motors the same day. The following morning Bernie Pawlik (Owner) called me and explained how he would like to proceed. Start with a diagnostic. The diagnostic showed that the Particulate Filter was blocked and required cleaning. Bernie gave it a 40/60 percent chance that the cleaning would work. When the cleaning didn't work Bernie dug deeper and spoke to his supplier who referred him to Audi. Bernie drove my car to the Richmond Audi Service shop where they replaced almost the entire exhaust/emissions system. It took some time2-3 weeks. Audi was cautious in their procedure as to what exactly they would cover and what they would not. Also the vehicle replacement parts took time to arrive. Through out the repairs at Audi Richmond, Bernie and Scott from Pawlik Motors kept me informed regarding costs and timing. Happily for my family Audi honoured an extended warranty on the exhaust/emissions system. Im positive that had I not had Bernie in my corner I'd be looking at a far greater bill for services.
