Great food and lots of it. Served with love and a beautiful smile at a good price. Doesn't get much better then that.

What a weird place. Flowers on table were dead, place had no decor and kitchen smelled of cigarettes. We sat down and took one look at the menu (just as filthy as the place) and got up and left. Weird experience. Didn't trust food quality read more

We ordered or dinner to go (only option) and took home our food in a garbage bag hoping for napkins and utensils. We arrived to find our soup at the bottom of the bag as it was in containers not meant for soup. What we could taste was good but were hungry in the end. read more

Doesn't look like a 5 star restaurant. Don't let the decor put you off. This is a fabulous restaurant. Thai food made with all organic ingredients. Generous servings. I ordered the Pad Thai for lunch. It could easily have served two people. Great place for vegans and vegetarians. If you want to eat a healthy meal, this is the place. read more

Great food and generous servings. She gave me a rose! They have takeout only right now, but it is very cute inside and the owner is very nice. Loved the beef curry. read more

The cafe felt like you were dining in someone's home. The food was great and also tasted home made. We had the crispy egg rolls, red curry with chicken and Pai thai. They were all excellent. read more

It a small hole in the wall. There only one lady there to run the place, so expect slow service and her English seem to be a little weak. The food was ok. We ordered four dishes, but only pad Thai noodle seem to be editable. Overall, the place is small, service is slow, and the food is average, and it cash only. read more

Quite possibly the best Pad Thai I have ever had. My friend loved the curry. And also at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious, ready quickly in about 15 minutes. The lady was really nice. The pad Thai serving size is enough to keep you fed until the end of the apocalypse. Cash only! read more

Goddess above, but this woman (the Lady Chef Nit) deserves to have her restaurant in the finest part of Montreal and charge accordingly. My fiancee Alexandria and I ate there just tonight with marvelously presented, cultured dishes of perfect elegance. This fine lady's presentation (kneeling at the table to take orders...) set out the finery of this place perfectly.... Let me know to simply tell her to make for us in her Seafood platter a choice of whatever seafood she wanted. Let me tell you, when you walk into a resturant and quickly realize that the chef is of sufficient calibre that you can ask her to prepare whatever she thinks appropriate for you and your Dearheart, and she will do a perfect job of it--that anyone who cannot appreciate this food is nekulturny. The Lady Nit prepared in less time than it takes to throw together the slop at Denny's, a dish which was in every way exquisite, all handmade and every bite delectable in extremis. The dining experience was pleasant, the music vibrant and relaxing, and the atmosphere comfortable. Across the street is a restaurant filled with pretentious SUV drivers, the Mendo Bistro, which is as loud as a sports bar inside when you walk into it, and puts crayons on their tables while advertising themselves as fine dining. We walked out, across the street, and into a quiet and serene place with food of exquisite fineness run by a truly talented woman. You will not regret it, and your tastebuds and sense of aesthetic will be raised wonderfully if you open your eyes to the way she takes simple local ingredients and crafts them so finely that for the first time in two years I ate at a restaurant without adding a single spice to the dishes. She made them perfectly, prepared our food with but a glance for us as she wished, and yet also as to make us enjoy every second. The Lady Nit has created an oasis of true class whose quality of ingredients and presentation are, indeed, worthy of any finest restaurant in a grand city. She deserves all the accolades she can be given. read more

$25 for a pad thai? I looked at the menu and couldn't believe it, I thought it was a pad thai meal with appetizer and drinks! I live in SF and there are plenty of high-end thai restaurants here, and I have never seen a $25 pad thai. I understand that it is a small town and it is the only Thai restaurant in town, but come on. I ended up going to Mendo Bistro across the street, it's a much nicer and high end restaurant. Even their most expensive dish is around $30 with good quality. I just think that they need to rethink their pricing. read more

Sorry but no thanks, Nit. We really tried to like the place but, alas, it was to no avail. The first dish was a huge spinach salad with giant chunks of bacon and even bigger chunks of cheese. Seriously, she basically threw in the whole block on that dish. One star for that. The other two dishes - the chicken alfredo and the lamb kebab - were just plain nasty. The sauce on the pasta dish tasted like it'd been in the refrigerator for weeks and the lamb was not flavorful at all. Plus the polenta was burnt on the bottom. And I'm talking like full scorched, a quarter inch thick of burnt nastiness. We like to support little places like Nit's but with those prices and that level of food...we'll have to pass. Yeah, and that $22 pad thai dish?! Nit better put plenty of that Mendo magic stuff I hear about in there. read more

I need a sugar daddy. Well, no, not really. But dining at Nit's Cafe is nonsense to me because it costs a fortune. I seriously tried to justify the cost of my $22 pad thai with $9 glass of wine. Seriously? Pad thai?! From a "Cafe"?! In Fort Bragg?! Anyhow, the noodle dish was presented beautifully and creatively, most of the veggies were organic, and it came with 5 plump and delectable prawns. And even though the little restaurant was unpretentious with mass-produced vintage art covered walls, the casual ambiance alone doesn't warrant my argument...or should it? Maybe I'm being too frugal or maybe because I've had phenomenal pad thai from other places for much less, but regardless of those "excuses", Nit (the chef and owner) made an attractive and delicious pad thai. It just cost more like market-price fresh lobster from a fancy restaurant in a major metropolis. FYI: bring out the Benjis, because it's CA$H ONLY! read more

We chanced upon this place on a busy day and were the first people there for dinner (around 7 pm). Nit explained her history to us, of being a one woman army and also trying to use organic as far as possible.. we were amazed and encouraging and took her advice on what best to get.. The food came surprisingly quick and we were blown away! One of the best Red Curry and Pad Thai me n my buddy have had in ages! The curry was subtle yet flavorful, cooked just right, looked just right. Pad thai was refreshingly spectacular considering I'm normally not even a fan of those noodles at all. We even took an extra order red curry to take back to the bay on general principle. read more

Wonderful wonderful wonderful. You can't go wrong eating here. Very small operation but super fresh and awesome. Owner is super friendly too. read more

I needed to find a restaurant because I was tired and hungry on my drive down the coast from Oregon to California. I stumbled upon Nit's cafe. (Nit is pronounced NEET, BTW.) Initially, I was put off by the Yelp reviews that were saying that it costs a lot more than normal for a Pad Thai. However, there were some reviews that commented on the superior flavor and eccentric nature of the owner/cook/hostess. That was enough to get me in the door. The fact is the food here is comprised of ingredients of superior quality than your average Thai restaurant. The ingredients in my red curry with tofu were individually succulent, but combined, they were awesome. My mouth had a party. The dish was about twice as expensive as normal, but Nit's ingredients are organic. While I am a vegetarian, I heard a customer ask where she gets her meat and she explained that she buys it from Niman ranch. For those that don't know, that's one of the few farms that raises animals humanely and sustainably. Nit brought out a hot water for me that was not just hot water, but hot water infused with spices. I'm not sure what was in that concoction, but it certainly brought me back to life after 6 hours of driving. I give this place four stars for the excellent food (one less because it should be for the price) and one extra star for the hospitality, creative hot water, nice hostess, and cookie/chocolte that she brought out as I was finishing my third spicy hot water before driving back to the Bay Area. read more

First things first - the lady who runs this place seems really nice! She's very friendly and since this is more like a house than a restaurant, she's a good host! She takes your order, cooks, serves and cleans. So yup, thats a one woman army for you! We ordered red curry with chicken. This dish is supposed to come with rice, but we didn't find any in our plate! I think she ran out of rice and we were given rice noodles instead (on request). Guess it wasn't her best day (or dish)! The place is slightly over priced for the portions given. This place is good for take out rather than dine in. Also if you plan on dining there, do call the number provided on yelp and confirm if the place is open. There are no fixed timings. The food was decent, I wouldn't rave about it after just one try. However, I wouldn't mind giving it another shot! read more

We had takeout tonight and, oh my goodness, delicious and plentiful, full of veggies, huge servings! Yummy Black rice instead of jasmine. This will feed us for a few happy nights. read more

We stumbled in here because we weren't hungry until 8:30 on a Monday night. Nit answered the phone and assured us she was open, so we went. Get ready for an unusual experience. She is a one-person show. She does everything -- cooking, waitressing, busing tables, while listening to 50's rock and roll and she has no qualms about turning up the volume whenever a track she loves comes on. The menu options are limited and the prices steep. But everything is made with the freshest organic ingredients. She looks like a cross between a geisha girl and a mental patient. Her English is poor but she is actually friendly in her own idiopathic way. While we were there, a tired English family of 4 showed up for dinner (having seen us through the window and being desperate for food) and enabled her to pay off the second mortgage on her home. If you are not put off by weirdness and don't care about atmosphere, this is the place to go for Thai food in Fort Bragg. read more

If you are looking for and craving authentic Thai food, avoid this place. I got the red curry, pad Thai and fried rice. I don't know who cooked the food, but they looked like someone who never cooked before made it. The fried rice was just mixed rice with huge chunks of chicken breast. The red curry was bland. The veggies and chicken were all huge, not bite size. Lastly, the pad Thai was bland and nothing special. I was hoping to eat some good Thai food while on vacation, but was disappointed. Look at the pictures others posted. read more

We gave this place a shot for dinner last night. The owner is very pleasant and makes the food pretty quickly. We took our food to go so, and maybe that's where we went wrong. The beef curry, while tasty, melted through the paper box. And the rolls were enormous and strange. It just didn't make any sense and was not appetizing to look at. We also had the pad Thai, which again tasted good, but was not pad Thai. I suggest picking up some new containers for takeout so food doesn't pour through. read more

Every time I me to Ft. Bragg, I have to stop at NIT'S Cafe. Nit makes the most delicious Thai food..... she is a 'one woman show'..... waitress, server, cook..... I usually get Tom Ka soup, and Pad Thai. The pad Thai is a very large serving, so there will be leftovers~! Thank You NIT for making the best food ever! See you next time!!! Andrea read more

I feel I should put out this warning. I had breakfast there last month. It was an omelette. It smelled funny. I think it was cooked in the same oil as the fish they serve. It was very large with too many carrots and a croissant that was baked crispy brown! The only safe thing, I thought, were the grapes. I only ate less than half. I got a doggie bag and later that day I smelled it. I threw it out without eating it. Be warned. read more

NitsCafe in FortBragg is amazing. We know this as the 'ONE LADY' restaurant when we visit Fort Bragg. It seems she does everything with speed and perfection. The place is small but this time due to the virus we got take out. Excellent excellent. Very Fresh and tastes so good. I got vegan tofu veggies and brown rice and my boyfriend got red snapper with potatoes and vegetables.....excellent. read more

They got a great yummy pad thai....and they only deliver. So, another great thing..you don't need to leave the bar.enjoy and be merry.

Nit does not get enough credit for the amazing enjoyable experience she creates with her little hole in the wall restaurant. I've been here twice, my boyfriend more times than that, and it's something we look forward to when going to Fort Bragg. The negatives: - Nothing is the same twice. The Tom Kha was very different the two times we had it. Both equally amazing, it's just not a consistently flavored dish you can count on. - Dinner can take a little bit of time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy people watching. It's only Nit doing everything! The positives: The food is amazing. Seriously amazing. I was in Thailand for a month and this is right up there with some of the best Thai food I had during that time. The portions are HUGE. The last time we were there Salmon was the catch / meal of the day, and the sauce was indescribable. The menu is small and very reasonably priced - I would encourage you to get whatever the "special of the day" is, and the Pad Thai, and split them. There's always enough Pad Thai for leftover breakfast the next day as well. Seriously - go here, be patient, ignore the "offensively dead" flowers someone else was complaining about - and just enjoy. read more

Nit was so very sweet and hospitable and made a delicious meal! The best I've had on the coast!!!

Whoa, I think the five-star reviews are from fake accounts. Or the woman is high half the time and makes shitty food and makes great food the rest of the time. Can't think of another explanation. Wonder if the health dept has paid her a vist. read more

I don't know what to say exactly. We had a bad experience. The food did not taste fresh the dining room looked almost like a storage unit. The owner was very nice yet seemed like she was a little shook up... Either hung over or drinking on the job or something. The rolls were sour tasting. The pad Thai looked good but the flavor wasn't there and it had giant chunks of roasted carrot?? Not thin Julianne slice... My boyfriend and myself came across this place a few years back on a birthday camping trip to the redwoods were we discovered the fruits of ab diving. While one evening we were looking for a place to sample local seafood cuisine and we found Nits Cafe. The menu looked good and the prices were reasonable compared to the upscale seafood restaurants in town and in the Village of Mendocino. We ordered the steamed mussels as an app, and it was enough to feed the two of us for dinner! De-lish!!! I ordered the special, scallops in a fab mac-&-cheese dish, And my bf ordered the green curry beef. Both dishes were fresh, tasted great, and were bigger then expected portions. This is now one of our favorite spots in Ft. Bragg for dinner. read more

What an amazing place. By far the best food in the Fort Bragg area. Vegan, vegetarian, and meat eaters will love it here. Don't let the decor fool you, the food here is A+++++++++. read more

Can't explain the 6 or 7 rather negative reviews... my experiences at Nit's (unfortunately her name) have been superb. She often runs the tiny place all by herself. The portions are not skimpy and, although the menu is sparse and changes, whatever you order is made with care. I'm guessing that the bad reviews are from the Bay Area or other big cities where they are not used to a tiny, one-woman operation as Nit's. Nit's does not take cards, only cash, as 1/3rd of the places along this part of the coast. Understandable in a small operation with high overhead. No complaints here! read more

I'm lucky enough to be in Fort Bragg on most weekends. Nit's has been a long time favorite for many years. The traditional Thai choices, like Pad That, are wonderful. But I encourage you to branch out a little. My last meal was lamb with vegetables and peanut sauce--outstanding. The best choice is to let Nit make recommendations for your dinner. The dishes are all quite large, so it's best to dine with friends so you can share several choices. read more

We stopped here late at night and were so excited to find a friendly and open Thai restaurant. After talking to the owner, my kids quickly honed in on the fresh catch of the day, Crab... she told us they were live in the back and the fisherman had just left who caught them. When I came back from the restroom (an less than awesome adventure all of its own, do NOT send your kids alone as it's out in the alley) I discovered both of my kids with a crab in front of them and disgusted looks on their faces. "This is cold and uncooked" they said. I assumed they were over exaggerating, one look and a finger touch that was chilling cold, and it was obvious they weren't even close to safe for consumption. I. Then nicely went to the owner who then was starting to cook my dinner and told her the crab was uncooked and ice cold. She insisted it was cooked... seriously (RAW). She then proceeded to tell me that she was a food health inspector and that it was safe to eat. We left without a bite. You couldn't pay me to go back. After a nights sleep, and 2 very upset stomaches from the couple bites of leg they originally tried, I confirmed with the state that she was no health inspector. read more
