My first time here and sad to say, I do not plan on returning back. When you 1st walk in, it has the " hole in the wall" vibe. No one was there when i arrived. After I had ordered my food and was seated, I noticed there were lots of flies flying around inside the restaurant. The Tom kha soup and expensive pad thai were just ok. Green curry w/beef- beef was very hard, curry was very oily. Crispy Spring rolls were the best thing I ate there. It was simply mediocre and placed on top of a lot of sweet and sour sauce. Sauce should be on the side. One woman show and service was ok. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

Steaming delicious pad Thai!

The food is so freshly made! And delicious, and great sized portion. My little one & I thoroughly enjoyed the pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. Plus the owner Nit is so warm and lovely! She gave company to my little one and made him laugh and overall made it a memorable time for us ! We will definitely come back again. Thank you Nit :)

Came in for lunch recently and loved the cozy family vibe here. The lady who runs the place is super nice. We ordered the coconut based soup and chicken in red curry with brown rice. Both the dishes were excellent. Would highly recommend! Note: credit cards not accepted.

Small 5 table cafe, w/ lovely owner/cook. She's always so kind and charming. Food is consistently fresh, colorful n creative. A real treat on the coast. Some menu items change based on season, but steady menu of Thai food. You will be happy you had a meal from this serendipitous place.

Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns

Stopped in during Paul Bunyan days & we were pleasantly surprised by the freshness, amazing flavors & incredible presentation of our meals! We ordered House Salad, no ordinary salad here, yum! Pineapple fried rice w prawns, as delicious as it is pretty! And the Fresh Roll was custom made to our liking~ thank you The young man who served us was friendly & very efficient. Window seating is nice, watched the goings ons on Main street. Prices are reasonable. I totally recommend Nits Cafe!

After reading a review of this place on local facebook page The Pudding Creek Trestle I decided to give this local gem a try. The food was made by NIT herself. I loved this location from the moment I walked in. The service was a thing of its own. The man that greeted us at the door. The menu here is updated daily and has specials of the day.

Really enjoyed Nit's Cafe! The place is pretty small and cozy -- I really enjoyed the very chill and unassuming vibe! We ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Pad Thai and really enjoyed both. The Pad Thai was pretty big portion and both items are worth trying. I actually really liked the soup because you could really taste both the Tom Yum spices (without it being spicy) and the coconut. Will be back!

VEGAN REVIEW Came…read morehere for a dinner in a recent work trip. This came up as my best vegan option. Started with the mango salad, had the pumpkin curry with tofu as my main. Large portions! Tasty & very fresh. Great herbs & lots of sauce. It's in a building that I think is a converted lumber mill? They have seating in a main dining room & then outside... that is still inside? LOL you just have to see it to understand. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it's clean & perfectly serviceable. The service is good. Attentive, but also one the server saw I was reading a book he let me linger. Would return again!

Overall, portion sizes especially the amount of protein in the dishes were a little disappointing, but they certainly deliver on Thai flavors when you're craving it. Koa Soi Chang Mai Curry Egg Noodle Soup (4/5): Egg noodles have a satisfying chew to them with some extra fried noodles over top to add a bit of crunch. Soup was savory, but I just wanted all the flavors to be amped up more (more tang! more spice!). Fantastic option for a rainy and / or sick day though! Panang Curry w/ Pork (3.5/5): Pork was a bit overcooked and chewy, but thinly sliced enough to not be a problem. Plenty of vegetables, but a little sparse on the pork unfortunately. The curry itself had great flavor: great balance of sweet, creamy, and savory across the spices and coconut. However, the curry ran very thin and ate more like a soup. Angel Wings (3.5/5): Chicken was juicy and tender, but there was no crunch on the outside and the skin was still the soft / slightly slimy texture. The sauce is a great sweet and salty combo. The side salad wasn't the freshest, but they aren't the star anyways.

It was actually a local doctor who recommended the restaurant! Last week we ordered special Thai food for Mother's Day with the in laws, and it was superb. I tried a new dish for me, the Clay pot prawns. The cellophane noodles are just delicious and full of sauce, the prawns were tender and plentiful- it was an instant hit. Our new favorite thing on the menu. I am driving home from work tonight, and drove by the restaurant to stop in and have the dish again. It's so delicious. Large portions, and I love the woodear mushrooms too! I recommend this dish (pictured) as well as the pumpkin curry, and pad Thai. The owners and employees are very kind and welcoming. I hope more people frequent the restaurant- they sure deserve our support!

VEGAN REVIEW What a…read morecute spot! Small dining area & larger patio (with heater for the cold, shades for the sun). Love the whimsical decor, including mismatched plates & novelty salt shakers. Plus every table has a bottle of their house made hot sauce! The service is friendly. We went on an evening when it was SWAMPED, they gave us the boiled peanuts & a pickle plate on the house. Hubby & I shared the biscuit sliders, red beans and rice, & chickpeas and dumplings. Everything was AMAZING-- super fresh, quality ingredients, great flavor. We finished with a moon pie. TO DIE FOR!!! They have a long list of wines & fun looking cocktails, but we did not indulge. We did have the local kombucha, which was quite tasty. The space is super cute, the menu is seasonal, and the plating is creative. The food itself was flavorful, unique, and definitely not the kind of dishes you usually see at vegan restaurants--so big points for that. That said, the experience felt a little off. We were first seated inside but had to move outdoors because of the flies (there were still bugs outside, but it was manageable). Service was where things fell short: our server, who I later realized is also the owner, came across as very short with us. She'd list specials and walk away without checking if we had questions, didn't offer wine recommendations (despite having a wine shop next door), and overall wasn't very warm or welcoming. We noticed she was much friendlier with regulars, which made us feel a bit brushed off. Totally understand local pricing & mandatory 20% gratuity, I just expected a higher level of service. The ambiance also had some drawbacks--constant clanging of dishes in the small space made it feel tense rather than cozy. Between that and the flies, it was hard to fully relax and enjoy. Overall, the food was great, and I wish the service matched the quality of the kitchen. If the vibe had been more welcoming, this easily could have become a regular spot for us whenever we're in the area.

There was no way we were getting the kids out of the pool and into dry clothes before 8 when most restaurants in this town closed. So we decided to try Raven Vegan restaurant to-go eaten poolside. We ordered what I considered safe choices for kids (Flatbread and Ravioli) and they were great! The vegan cheese worked, kids got their fill and I was a happy mom because they were eating their vegetables. My husband got the crabless crab cakes and while the texture was different, I tasted crab in there. The highlight for me was the Pad Thai. Pad Thai is on my list of last meals and I've tried it everywhere. This version did not disappoint. In fact, it was THE tastiest Pad Thai I've ever had. Sweet, tangy, crunchy, slurpy, and umami. I could eat it everyday. Our stay at the Stanford Inn came with breakfast here also. My kiddos split a savory crepe and pancakes. They ate it all up. My husband had the Ranchero which was delicious! Who knew tofu scramble was so tasty?! I had the Portebello Benedict which was equally delicious, though next time I'd skip the tomato. It made things extra soggy. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
