When I came to talk to them, the tested it and told me my battery was fine and tried to sell me a portable jump started as they said the warranty doesn't apply since the battery works. I needed a battery for my car and wanted to buy from within my town…read more As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed any assistance. The gentleman helping me was Oscar Rodriguez. Let me stop and say that customer service is extremely important to me. Even more than the price if it is within reason. Oscar should be recognized and compensated extra for beyond the call of duty. We discussed my car and my future intentions even before we looked at batteries and their cost. No pressure whatsoever. I knew he was honest when he suggested the battery I knew was the right one. Oscar than cheerfully went outside and exchanged the batteries. AUTOZONE has a gem in this man!!! The price was more than fair and Oscar explained the warranty in detail. I will definitely be back and be looking for Oscar!

I'm just not a car gal but I do remember another location in south houston that always had trash in the parking lot) I like this location alot. It wasn't anything like I remembered when I was a teen. It wasn't super cluttered or dirty, with scuffed floors. Parking lot was even clean and didn't have pot holes.

I've been coming to this location for years and experienced both good and bad service, but most of the time it's good. The employee's here are very knowledgeable and are usually able to help me with what I need. Most of the time it's just getting a free CEL OBD-II diagnostic check, recycling used oil, renting a specialty tool (for free), or searching for a part. He then proceeds to take a handheld computer to run a test and told me I didn't need a new battery but an alternator instead. He kept calling me "woman" in a joking manner but I didn't find it funny at all. He referred to me as "woman" at least 4 times. I left and went next door to O'Reilley's because I was uncomfortable. Not only was the battery $30 cheaper at O'Reilley's but they retested my car with their handheld computer and told me my alternator was just fine. Whoever that bald man from Poughkeepsie was (he volunteered that information to me in his conversation) needs an etiquette and/or professionalism class on how to address customers.
